True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 2136
Kendrix frowned subtly. "Are you really so bored that you have to come here?"
"Of course I am not bored. I have been trying to talk to you, but you, on the other hand, are the one who looks bored," Claudia said. She would never feel awkward, and she could replace topics to talk about at any time. Moreover, she was so great at talking that other people would not be able to talk back to her.
Kendrix did not want to argue with her. He sat down on the sofa, poured himself a cup of tea and drank it quietly.
Claudia looked around, the whole living room was very clean, and there were a set of teapot and tea cups on the side table.
He was drinking tea. Or, to be exact, he was enjoying the process of making tea.
Claudia looked at all four of Kendrix's tea cups. They were as big as wine glasses.
He was still able to enjoy the art of drinking tea at a time like that, which meant that he was in quite a good mood.
No!
Claudia raised her eyebrows, and a playful look could be seen in her eyes.
He might be extremely anxious but had no place to vent his feelings, which was why he had to drink tea to pass the long and lonely nights.
As she thought about it then, it did seem like Kendrix was feeling bored.
"Hey, it seems like you are drinking tea alone to wear down your temper. Just how restless must you be to need to vent your frustration in this way?" Claudia said bluntly, without hesitation.
She thought of the unhappy meal they had the other day and his baffling departure, she still thought that it was too much.
She really could not understand why Sylvia would fall for Kendrix.
He was such an unromantic and cold man. It was obvious that he would not be a good lover at all.
If he did not have a good appearance, then he would really be useless.
She thought of how beautiful of a woman Sylvia was, coupled with her decent family background, there really wasn't a need for her to fall in love with such a cold man.
She knew that there were countless other men who liked Sylvia, but she somehow only liked Kendrix, who was such an indifferent man.
She was putting the troubles upon herself.
Kendrix knew that Claudia was only there to mock him, so he glanced at her. It seemed that her heart was burning with anger, and she had nowhere to vent it out.
He did not know what was wrong with her, but she was acting as if that anger in her heart had something to do with him.
Kendrix frowned, he did not say anything.
He just drank his tea quietly.
When Claudia saw him ignoring her, she got even angrier. She sat down in front of him and poured herself a cup of tea too. She tasted it and asked, "Why are you drinking such a bitter tea?" Kendrix frowned slightly.
"Is this tea from the heavens?" Claudia looked at him, but he was still frowning with a cold expression on his face, it seemed like he was very angry. He wasn't speaking to her.
She laughed out loud and said, "It seems like you are very angry. Is that why you need to drink such bitter tea to cool yourself down? Who provoked you?"
Kendrix still did not reply her.
Claudia did not care about his attitude at all.
She continued to watch him drink his bitter tea alone, it seemed like he was angry and helpless, perhaps even a little distressed.
Kendrix was the type of person who would quietly endure all the suffering in his heart.
It was already very difficult to suffer alone, yet he still needed to suppress his nature. Was it really so difficult to admit that he had a crush on a girl?
Couldn't he just let her know that he liked her?
He clearly liked her, yet he wanted to endure the bitterness and loneliness alone. How infuriating.
Kendrix lowered his eyes, he held the teacup with his slender fingers and drank a small cup of tea, as if it was not bitter at all.
"You can leave now." He ordered her to leave once more.
Claudia was suddenly furious, she spoke loudly, "I really don't get it. You are already in such a miserable state, why are you still pretending to be calm? Do you think it is very cool?" "Claudia," Kendrix said in a deep voice.
"You don't need to act cool in front of me." Claudia's tone was getting cold. "I know that you don't want to affect her future, and you don't want to stain your name during your period of teaching in school either. You are a man with a strong sense of morality."
Kendrix pressed his lips, his eyes turned even colder.
"Are you done?"
"I am not." Claudia continued to argue with him. "You are avoiding the problem again. Is it really so hard to admit this one thing?"
"Claudia." Kendrix's tone turned even colder. "If you are really that free, go to work."
"Do you think that I don't want to go to work?" Claudia looked at him with her cold eyes. "Do you think that I am happy to care about your business? If I haven't seen how abnormal you have been with my own eyes, I would not have cared."
That was the first time Claudia felt that Kendrix was treating Sylvia very differently.
If there really wasn't anything, then there was no need for her to play his fiancee.
With her understanding of him, he could have chosen to ignore the matter altogether. However, he still did what he did.
That was why Claudia could be so sure that Kendrix had really fallen for Sylvia.
Kendrix stopped talking. His handsome face was like the bottom of a pot, it was black and cold.
Seeing him like that, Claudia's heart tightened. She knew that he was truly angry then.
She looked directly into Kendrix's dark eyes. When their eyes met, the air around them seemed to have frozen.
In the end, Claudia was still the one who broke the silence, "Kendrix, is it really that hard to admit that you like someone? Do you know how sad Sylvia was when you left halfway that day?"
"That has nothing to do with me," Kendrix said coldly, "You should leave."
"You are still too much of a coward to face it," Claudia spoke once more.
"Are you going to leave or not?" Kendrix's tone was getting colder and colder.
"I am not leaving," Claudia spoke in a deep voice, "Since you refuse to face it, then I will help you."
"If you are not going to leave, I will." Kendrix stood up and was ready to leave without his jacket.
"Kendrix, you coward." Claudia scolded, "Is it really that hard for you to admit it?"
He left without another word, and he slammed the door hard when he went out.
He left Claudia alone in his apartment.
Claudia stamped her feet in anger. She knew that she had irritated her cousin that time, and that was why he stormed out like that. He couldn't care to be a gentleman anymore.
It seemed that he was really in a tough spot, which was why he could not control his emotions, and also why his mood changed so much.
Claudia felt helpless too.
In fact, she really wanted to help him. However, she really pitied him after pushing him to such extent.
He was such a proud person, and he arranged many things in his life very well. He knew what he had to do too.
In truth, after she thought about it carefully, Claudia thought that there was actually nothing wrong with his arrangements. However, she just could not bear to see how sad Sylvia was. That was why she went to talk to Kendrix. However, after seeing how miserable he seemed then, she felt even sorrier.
Whatever.
Those were all other people's business, other people's fate. It seemed like she had no right to overly force things.
Claudia took out a pen and wrote a letter. She left it on the side table.
The letter was not a long one, it was just one paragraph.
It said, "Kendrix, I just think that if you like someone, you should be braver, and just ignore everything else. It is not a bad thing for you to be rational, but it will be a great pity for the girl that you like. A love that comes too early might be one that she is not ready for at her age. I think that she understands you. I apologize for being angry at you today, it was my fault. I was wrong. I am going home, and you should try to cheer up too. Lastly, I wish you a happy Spring Festival in advance."
After leaving the letter behind, Claudia left the apartment.
She made a phone call to Sylvia, she wanted say goodbye to her before she head back.
When Sylvia received the call, she was reading a book. When she heard that Claudia wanted to meet her, she left to see her immediately.
She had locked herself up in her room for a whole week, she hadn't left her room at all. The sudden exposure to the sunlight almost made her faint. "Sylvia, are you going out?" When Grace saw her, she asked.
"That's right, mom. I'm meeting a friend," Sylvia spoke.
"Who is it?" "Claudia." Sylvia did not hide anything. "She's going home, she wants to say goodbye to me. I will be back soon."
"Claudia?" Grace was also surprised.
Back then, after she came back with
Claudia, Claudia left right away.
Sylvia also seemed to have changed, seeming like she was worried about
something. It was obvious that Kendrix had something to do with that matter.
However, Heinz told her that their children should have their own lives. There were some things that they should not interfere with.
Therefore, Grace did not ask.
When she saw her daughter finally coming out of her room, she heaved a sigh of relief.
At her age, she was just going through puberty, and first getting involved with love and relationship. It was not necessarily a bad thing for her to suffer some setbacks.
Grace was very worried, for her daughter had fallen under the spell that was love at an age which was too young for her own good. If she could not handle it, she would eventually be hurt.
"Go ahead." Grace encouraged. "If it is too far away, you can ask the driver to send you there."
"It's okay, I can go there by myself." Sylvia shook her head. "Mom, I'll be leaving first."
"Okay."
Sylvia then went out.
Grace looked at her back, she let out a long sigh.
In the past, she used to think that her daughter was too naughty and mischievous. As she had quieted down and stopped fooling aroun then, Grace somehow thought that she was way too quiet, and even terrifyingly quiet. It only made her feel even more worried.
Parents would always be worried about their children.
Gary had been locking himself up in his room for a long time, he was like a walking corpse.
Everyone was worried about him too. Ever since Celeste left, he had been like that. The young man who used to be so high-spirited acted like a dispirited middle-aged man then. Fortunately, Sylvia had finally gone out of the house. She hoped that she would be in a better mood and think some things through.
Sylvia and Claudia met in a dessert cafe close to their house. They smiled the moment they saw each other.
Claudia saw that even though she was smiling, she seemed a lot skinnier.
Previously, her chin was not that sharp, but her chin was sharper than a nail then.
She reached out and hugged Sylvia. "You have lost weight."
Sylvia was stunned. "Is it really that obvious?"
"It is really obvious," Claudia said.
Sylvia sighed. "I did not expect myself to lose weight either. I have thought about losing weight before, but now, I have lost weight without even trying, right?"
"Why do you want to lose weight?" Claudia said angrily, "You are growing up, you shouldn't try to lose weight. If you continue to lose weight, you will lose those mountains of yours."
Even though Sylvia was a little girl, she still understood the meaning of Claudia's words.
The mention of her 'mountains' really made her feel embarrassed.
Her face turned a little red. "Look at what you are saying. Why are you so obscene?"
"I am not being obscene. I am really trying to remind you seriously." Claudia opened up her chests, "No matter how confident a woman is, she can't be too confident without those." "Haha." Sylvia could not help laughing out loud. "Claudia, you can always replace a way to make me laugh."
"Didn't you cry the first time we met?" Claudia said.
"You are really something, you always mention things that do not need to be mentioned."
"Okay, I will tell you something," Claudia said, "It will cheer you up."
The two of them quickly entered the cafe and sat down. They ordered some food and drinks. After that, Sylvia asked, "What is this something that would make me happy?"
"Kendrix is doing terrible," Claudia said, "He has lost weight, and he is drinking bitter tea."
She asked, "Bitter tea?"
"Extremely bitter tea," Claudia said, "I think he is feeling very bitter internally."
Sylvia was a little stunned. Her eyes narrowed, and even her heart tightened.
She was very worried about Kendrix. She had clearly calmed herself down and adjusted her emotions. However, when she heard the news about him, she still felt very sad and worried.
