Grace must have made such arrangements for them to rest as she was worried that Gary and Celeste would be too physically tired/

It was a family tradition to visit William on New Year's.

Although William was old, he was very open-minded. He never complained or asked Heinz and Grace for anything.

Everything was done according to Grace and Heinz's wishes.

In the past, their whole family would visit William, but Gary had rarely gone because he was always abroad.

However, he made sure to visit William every time he was back. After all, William was aging, and each day mattered.

Celeste looked at Gary, not knowing what to do.

"Let's do what Mom planned. We'll visit GreatGrandpa tomorrow." He smiled, took her hand, and said to the butler, "Get something ready for us to eat." "Sure, Master Gary." When the butler saw that Gary and Celeste had finally reconciled, he couldn't help smiling. "Please allow me fifteen minutes. The dishes are ready, so I'll bring them to the table."

"They are?" Gary was a little surprised to hear that.

"Yes, when Madam Grace left, she had instructed me to prepare them in advance, so you could have them when you wake up."

The butler smiled after he finished speaking. Since they woke up late, he had to heat the dishes before serving them.

Celeste was deeply moved by Grace's thoughtfulness and concern forthem.

Thinking of her wayward departure, she felt that she should not have left.

She lowered her gaze and pursed her lips.

Upon seeing her like this, Gary knew that she must be feeling guilty. He tightened his grip on her hand, saying, "Everything is fine. Don't overthink it. Mom wouldn't blame you. She has been nagging at me the whole time since you left."

Celeste was shocked, raising her head to meet his gaze.

He knew what was on her mind.

He knew that she was confused, so he smiled and explained, "Being together for such a long time did our chemistry good. I know what you're thinking." "Gary." She was slightly startled. She noticed how much he doted on her compared to before.

He had always doted on her, but since her return, he had been even more caring, generous and understanding. The word 'no' did not even exist in his books when it came to Celeste. How could she not be moved?

It was cold outside, but her heart was warm.

"Silly girl." Gary rubbed the top of her head and said, "Come on. Let's go back to our room. It's too cold outside."

"Okay." Celeste followed him back into the room. Everything felt more beautiful than ever with the pool of warmth she felt in her chest.

The butler brought the dishes over to the table. Before Celeste could start eating, a mountain of food appeared on her plate, and they were all her favorites.

Gary kept putting food on her plate.

"Have some more. You've lost so much weight recently." His heart ached for her.

"You should speak for yourself." She looked at his thinned body; he was definitely a few pounces lighter.

He replied, "I didn't lose much weight. I have more muscles than before." "Stop lying." She looked at him bashfully as she picked up food for him. "Don't worry about me. You eat too."

"I will." Gary's appetite had increased immensely with his girlfriend back in his life. All his worries were gone, and he felt nothing but utter joy.

"Alright." She watched him pick up his utensils before she started eating.

The atmosphere between the two of them was warm and loving, unlike the previous awkwardness they shared.

After going through this ordeal, both of them had better emotional control.

Once they finished eating, Gary brought Celeste back to the room. He looked at her thoughtfully as if he wanted to speak but stopped on second thought.

She knew he had something he wanted to say but was hesitant on speaking up. She said, "If you have something to say, go ahead."

"Celeste." He felt that although she had come back on her own, there were still some things between them that were left unsolved.

He had learned his lesson, so he knew he couldn't drag it out until it turned into a problem. Thus, he wanted to clarify things as soon as possible.

That way, when it happened, he wouldn't be as passive.

"Go on." Celeste nodded as she stared at him. She knew Gary was about to say something important, so she was all ears.

"It's about Janice." He looked at her, reluctant to mention her name.

Nervousness and discomfort crawled into Celeste's skin when she heard Janice's name.

However, she was more open-minded after everything that happened.

She had to confront the problem that was Janice, or else she and Gary would fall into another bout of awkwardness.

That was the last thing she wanted.

Gary pressed his lips together when he saw Celeste's frown. "I will not let her off so easily."

"Gary," she spoke, her voice gentle.

"Celeste." He was worried that she would be mad at the mention of Janice. "I must settle the scores with her."

He wanted to ease her worries by making sure she knew where he stood.

"I know that I will have to face this issue when I return." She took a deep, calm breath. "She's the biggest problem between the two of us."

It seemed he shared similar thoughts.

"Let me finish," she continued, her

tone more serious than before, "In truth, I am responsible for this due to my insecurity. If I had felt more secure about us, I would have believed you. A couple with mutual trust would not last long even if they were in love."

Her words took him by surprise.

He gawked at her as if he was looking at a stranger.

She must have really thought this through.

How else could she be as calm as she was?

"Not having enough trust in you is my biggest problem. Janice is just an external factor. I took these external factors to heart and ignored a problem that I had." Celeste felt that she definitely had given this sufficient thought. "From now on, Janice is not a problem at all. As long as the two of us trust each other and respect each others' boundaries, nothing else is a problem."

"Do you...trust me?" Gary's confidence fumbled.

After what had happened before, his selfconfidence took a great nosedive.

"I do," she replied firmly. "I'm ashamed. I shouldn't have doubted you before."

The two of them had gone through so much; she would not be able to live with herself if she still suspected him.

But she couldn't control herself back then, allowing herself to wallow in sorrow.

After getting him back, she knew she should cherish him, or she would regret it for the rest of her life.

"Celeste." Gary's heart ached, and he was touched by what she was sharing with him. He hugged Celeste tightly, refusing to let go. "Do you trust me?"

"Silly." She was sad and felt regretful for her past actions. "Of course, I do. Why else would I have come back to you?"

"Celeste," he muttered.

"I'm sorry," she apologized to Gary, her voice hoarse and full of self-blame. She knew that she had been too willful and had almost lost him. "I was too willful."

"No, you weren't."

"No, I really was because I know you

love me." Celeste was calm and

clear-headed. "Perhaps my subconscious always told me that you wouldn't leave me behind; that's

why I behaved like that. But when you did, I felt so hopeless. I know that can't live without you, but my pride and self-esteem made it impossible for me to turnback. I thought about many things while I was away. I had never been so calm reflecting about myself before. Now, I know very clearly that I was wrong."
