True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 2175
Her father's words hit home, and it shuddered her to think of the consequences.
Kendrix was a teacher no matter how, and she was his student.
Once the world found out they were dating, the two of them would definitely suffer a blow, and Kendrix might lose his job and reputation. This was also probably why Kendrix wanted to establish the pact with her.
And her father's pact didn't only put her reputation into consideration, but even more so on Kendrix's.
Sylvia was aware that even if she didn't care about bearing the reputation of dating her teacher, Kendrix would.
Someone who always behaved with the utmost decorum like him would definitely be troubled by such a problem.
This was also probably why Kendrix had been suppressing his feelings toward her this whole time.
At the end of the day, she was the one who let her emotions act for her.
Sylvia reflected on her behavior, thinking that she still didn't fully consider Kendrix's feelings.
It appeared that some things were indeed more complicated than they seemed.
Heinz knew he could put his mind at ease, knowing she was musing on his words when he saw his daughter simmered down and adopted a pensive mood.
Only after she had thought it through and had a clear mind could she cope with the changes that might transpire in the future.
Not everything in the world would go according to your plan, so you have to get ready for it.
"Thank you, Dad." Sylvia had mulled over her father's words and said to him, looking all serious, "I know what to do now. Your reminder came just in time. Thank you." With that, she bowed to him sincerely and gratefully.
Stumped, Heinz didn't expect his little princess, whom he had been coddling, would bow to him.
She had really grown up, no longer as feckless as she used to be.
She had indeed become more ladylike and mature. However, inexplicably, Heinz still missed that talkative little girl, who always nestled in his arms.
Heinz's heart ached at the thought of his little princess no longer coveting her father's embrace but another man's.
Jealousy had set in.
His daughter, whom he had been pampering her whole life, was about to become someone else's. How infuriating. Even though he was seized by a feeling of indignation and jealousy, his sanity did not desert him.
He nodded without putting forward too much requirements.
"Alright, go to your room."
"Okay." Sylvia beamed at him. "Good night, Dad."
"Good night."
The girl soon skipped upstairs in a euphoric mood.
It seemed that she had gained something from this trip, leading her to ooze happiness, radiating liveliness.
But all this was given by another man. At the thought of that man having control over his daughter's emotions, he was beside himself with rage.
It had only been, what, a couple of hours, and the girl's mood had fluctuated several times. Heinz sighed again.
Irritated, he retreated to his room.
Grace happened to have woken up when he entered. She shot a glance at him and asked, "Is Sylvia back?"
"She's back," Heinz replied.
Grace heard the discouragement in his tone at once and darted another glance at him. "What's wrong? You look like someone has offended you; did Sylvia make your hackles rise?" Heinz shook his head. "No, not exactly. She came back in a buoyant mood. How could she make me angry? She kept flattering me and even bowed to me before she went back to her room." As he spoke, he let out another sigh, looking very melancholic.
"Then you must be jealous because another man has stolen our daughter's heart, am I right?"
Heinz raised his head instantaneously at that and looked over at his wife. "Honey, you're amazing. How could you tell?"
Grace chuckled. "I have been with you for almost two decades; I know you like the back of my hand."
Letting his emotions show, Heinz sat on the edge of the bed and said to his wife, "Time flies so fast.
She was only this little when you gave birth to her, and now, she's all grown up and started thinking about dating. Whenever I think about how another man is influencing her emotions, I'll be out of sorts."
"Oh, you..." Grace had a good idea how Heinz felt, so she knew she'd had to replace something for him to do to distract him. "You're too free. Come and massage my legs. My belly is getting bigger and bigger, and my legs are swollen."
"Are you exhausted?" Heinz
immediately went to check on his
wife. Seeing that her legs were
indeed a little swollen, his anxiety
and worry grew. "Your legs only net
began swelling in your third
trimester when you were pregnant with Sylvia and Sebastian; how come they're already swelling up on your second?"
Grace rolled her eyes at him and said, "How can you compare then
and now? was still in my twenties when we had our second set of
twins 'm already an old hag with a geriatric pregnancy; you'll notice I'll age faster after giving birth
Content
"Nonsense." Heinz shook his head without hesitation. "You won't grow old."
"Everyone will grow old. I'm not an undying monster." Grace glanced at him helplessly. "You don't have to comfort me; I've already accepted the fact that I will grow old."
"Honey." Heinz stretched out his
hands to hug her and nuzzled his
chin against her cheek
affectionately. "I will grow old just as you do, we've been by each other's side for so many years. These six children you've given me will always be my precious."
"Heinz." Blinking, Grace smiled gently. "I'm just as blissed. Marrying you really puts me in happiness."
Although it had only been sixteen, seventeen years, their marriage was a blissful one.
No matter when, he had always put their family first, prioritizing her and their children.
She was gratified.
It gladdened her heart whenever she gave it a good thought.
Maybe there would be occasional squabbles and times of bitterness, but that was just life, no?
It wouldn't be life if it were all only sunshine and rainbows.
Indeed not everything could be flawless, but wasn't it enough when most of it was wonderful?
Hugging Heinz, Grace patted his back, saying softly, "Oh, You. No need to be sad about our kids replaceing their love."
Heinz didn't say anything as he understood his wife was consoling him.
"They will leave us eventually, and the two of us are the ones going to be there for each other till the end."
Wasn't that the case?
Just like now, the two of them, together.
"Isn't there a saying, husband and wife in youth, companions in old age? Isn't it enough that we will be together till the end of our lives? Besides, you won't be alone; you have me."
"Just because our children found their other half doesn't mean they'll leave us forever. Think of it as abducting, I mean, adding to our family. Imagine them visiting us, calling us Mom and Dad; won't that lavish more happiness onto us?"
"Besides, we have a lot of children, and they will bring us more than one share of happiness."
"Honey, you haven't been so tender to me for a long time." Heinz whispered with a note of grievance, "If you can be so gentle every day, I would be really happy."
"Dream on!" Grace burst into laughter. "How tired I'll be to make you happy every day. It's tiring for me to feign tenderness too, you know?"
"You're tender innately," Heinz said with a smile.
"All cajolery." Grace replied with a grin, "But it's working. Music to my ears." "Silly girl." Heinz ruffled her hair as dotingly as ever.
Did he just call her his girl? Grace looked up at him and said, "Don't call me that; I'm not your daughter. I'm getting on in years."
"You will always be my silly girl." Heinz confessed his love adoringly.
Grace's heart melted, looking up at the man's handsome face.
"Go take a shower and come back to bed; I'm feeling sleepy again."
"Okay. I'll give you a massage when I come back. Go ahead and sleep." He gave her a peck and went to the bathroom. Watching as he went to the shower, Grace thought her life had been filled with silent sweetness and contentment. Meanwhile, Sylvia called Kendrix as soon as she went to her room.
The call was answered in two shakes.
"Hello, Kendrix. I just entered my room."
"How come you're only in your room now?" asked Kendrix.
"My dad was downstairs just now." As Sylvia spoke, she took off her jacket.
Kendrix understood immediately. "Your dad knows you came looking for me tonight, didn't he?"
Sylvia was blown away. "How did you manage to guess it?"
