When she heard him say that, Sylvia knew that he was right. With the way her mother was acting, it would be stupid for Kendrix to not do the right thing. He was only doing this because he knew that this was expected of him.

Sylvia could not protest at all. On the contrary, she thought that he was right. Even if she was reluctant to part with him, she should still follow Kendrix's advice.

She hesitated for a while before looking at Kendrix and finally nodding.

Kendrix knew that Sylvia was feeling reluctant from the way she was pouting. She looked so cute even when she was unhappy. He chuckled and cupped her face in an effort to comfort her, "Okay then. Cheer up."

"I can't replace it in myself to be happy," Sylvia spoke the truth, "However, even so, I have to admit that you are right."

Kendrix felt gratified. In the end, Sylvia was a sensible child. She could understand his difficulties, and he was touched by it.

He held her in his arms, sighed, and made a little compromise, "One o'clock. I will take you back at one."

Sylvia was stunned. It was half past ten, which meant that she could still stay for a few more hours.

She cheered up at once and wrapped her hands around Kendrix's waist. Then, she buried her face in his chest and took a deep breath.

It seemed that he was reluctant to part with her as well.

Sylvia nodded fiercely and said, "Okay, great. One o'clock will do. You are the best."

Kendrix smiled too, "Come on, let's go eat."

"Okay."

Sylvia was hungry.

After all, she did not have any breakfast since he laid down with Kendrix after she arrived. She didn't even get a bite of anything.

Her stomach was growling. She had not been that hungry before. However, after Kendrix mentioned food, her stomach growled even more.

"Your stomach is growling too," Kendrix teased. Sylvia was really such a lovely little girl.

Sylvia's face turned red.

He actually heard her. He had great hearing.

Sylvia looked up from Kendrix's embrace. Her face was red and she muttered coquettishly, "I can't believe you heard that."

Kendrix nodded. He put on a playful smile and said, "We are not too far from each other. Besides, you're in my embrace now. Of course I can hear you." When he smiled, his eyes looked as though they could contain a sky full of stars. When Sylvia saw that, it made her heart tremble.

She was finished.

This man had captivated her soul as well.

"Don't you feel hungry?" If Sylvia's guess was correct, Kendrix probably didn't have a bite ever since the brief supper they had the night before.

Why was his stomach not growling? They were so close to each other, so logically, she should be able to hear it.

Upon hearing that, Kendrix smiled faintly, his expression looking even more radiant.

"I am old. I am not a young person like you who needs to be nourished all the time. My metabolism is not that great either." "Nonsense," Sylvia shook her head, "You are not old."

He was 23 years old and was living in one of the best ages of their lives. How could he say that he was old?

She looked at Kendrix in surprise, and she noticed a hint of melancholy and gloom in his eyes. It made Sylvia's heart skip a beat.

Kendrix grinned, "It is probably because my mentality has aged."

For some reason, Sylvia's heart tightened. She felt a little uncomfortable and in pain.

She looked at Kendrix with her aching heart. Her eyes were filled with worry and distress.

It seemed like she wanted to say something. However, it was inappropriate for her to say anything at this time.

It felt like her words were pale and powerless. The only thing she could do was hold Kendrix's hand as support. She could only encourage and support him.

Her silent movements made Kendrix laugh. The darkness in his eyes were dispelled by tenderness.

His eyes gradually turned warm.

He held her hands and led her to the dining room so that he could personally pull out a chair for her to sit down.

Sylvia saw that the dining table was now filled with a rich and exquisite breakfast. All the food on the table was already carefully heated. Some of them were even steaming hot.

"You don't have to send me any food

in the future. If there is anything you want to eat, can make it," After saying that, Kendrix felt slightly embarrassed. Suddenly, he thought of something and added, "School is about to start soon, so you can't come to my place anymore. After all, we're on school compounds, and it'll be inconvenient for you to come. In the future, I will cook for you."

He spoke so much in one breath that it made Sylvia feel a little surprised.

Some time later, she muttered in surprise, "You know how to cook?"

Kendrix nodded, "I can make some simple dishes."

"You are amazing," She admired Kendrix from the bottom of her heart.

"Hurry up and eat. Aren't you hungry?"

"Yeah, I am," Sylvia nodded. She gave him his cutlery first, "You should eat first."

Kendrix was slightly startled. He looked at Sylvia. He sighed at the revelation that she actually placed him before herself.

His pupils contracted several times as he looked at Sylvia. He then beamed as he said, "Thank you."

However, his voice was a little bit hoarse. If she did not listen to it carefully, she might not be able to hear it. The two of them ate quietly.

After they had their meal, Kendrix decided not to sleep anymore. He started checking his email on his computer. All the while, Sylvia accompanied him. She looked at the man who had been working hard and secretly sighed.

Everyone said that men looked best when they were working attentively. Kendrix was no exception. When he looked down at his computer, he stayed very quiet, as if he had blocked out everything around him. He stared at the computer with full concentration.

His handsome brows were slightly lowered, and some of his hair landed on his forehead. His nose was straight and delicate. His lips were red and healthy, and even the shape of his lips looked perfect. When Sylvia remembered how his lips had kissed her before, she felt joyful and blissful.

While Kendrix was staring at his computer seriously, Sylvia stared at him without blinking. She was not tired or bored at all. It was as if she could stay in that position her whole life. At that moment, it seemed like time had stopped, and nothing mattered anymore.

All of a sudden, Kendrix looked up and met her gaze. Almost instantly, he chuckled and asked, "What are you looking at?"

"I am looking at you!" Sylvia said.

Kendrix felt a little helpless, "Why would you look at me?"

"Because you are good looking. You are really, really handsome," Sylvia thought that she would not be able to see him after she returned home, which was why she needed to stare at him like that so greedily. Even though she could still meet him through a video call, it would be different from meeting him in real life.
