Sylvia could sense the helplessness in Claudia's voice, which made her feel a little upset.

She looked at Claudia and wanted to comfort her, but she did not know what to say.

However, when Sylvia saw Claudia like that, she felt an indescribable sadness washing through her. It was as if she could feel what Claudia was feeling. "Claudia," she whispered.

Originally, Sylvia wanted to comfort her, but Claudia waved her hand with a smile. "Don't talk to me in that tone. I know you want to comfort me, but I don't need it. Look at my goosebumps! Do you not know? I am a tough girl! I don't need anyone to comfort me."

Sylvia laughed. "Fine, you don't need anyone to comfort you."

Sylvia knew that Claudia said it so that she would not worry about her, but she also clearly knew that Claudia was probably hurting inside.

Sometimes, she kept things to herself, not wanting others to know. However, that did not mean that she wasn't hurting inside.

The more Claudia tried to put on a brave face, the more distressed Sylvia felt.

"The elevator is reaching soon," Claudia said, "So, do you want to head upstairs and talk to Kendrix? I'll stay downstairs for an extra ten minutes before heading up. What do you think?"

When Sylvia heard Claudia's words, she was also stunned. She did not expected that.

She was a little distracted and nodded immediately. "Yes, you talked some sense into me. I should head back upstairs and talk to Kendrix."

Claudia smiled and said, "All right then. You don't have to go down with me. Just take the elevator straight back up."

"All right." Sylvia smiled sheepishly. "Claudia, thank you. If you hadn't reminded me, I'm afraid I wouldn't have been able to get out of the hole that I'm digging!"

"There are some things that you should not fuss about," Claudia said again, "The more you fuss about it, the more you would hurt yourself. In the end, you might just end up dwelling in it and not be able to get rid of the pain."

"Thank you!" Sylvia nodded seriously.

"Perhaps you're not old enough to understand some things, but I want to tell you something. It's not easy for Kendrix to admit that he's in love, and decide to actually be in a relationship. I believe he must thought everything through before making a decision. If he didn't like you, he wouldn't have wanted to get involved with you." Claudia knew Kendrix very well, and she really hoped that he could be happy. When Sylvia heard it, she was flattered. She immediately broke into a sweet smile. "Listening to the words of a wise man is better than studying for ten years. I think I get what you mean now." Claudia smiled back. Then, she said, "Then you should seize your own happiness. You don't have to worry about losing something now. If you keep worrying, you will begin to lose the happiness that you have already obtained."

Ding!

The elevator signalled that it had arrived at the ground floor.

Sylvia nodded and promised, "Don't worry. I know what to do. Can you please give me 15 minutes before you come up?"

"I can even give you 30 minutes if you want!" Claudia gladly offered. She would do anything for Kendrix's happiness.

"Thank you." Sylvia thanked her again.

Claudia also smiled and said, "You're welcome. You've thanked me enough."

"Fine, I won't stand on ceremony with you." Sylvia hugged Claudia, who swiftly exited the elevator. Sylvia pressed the close button and went back upstairs. When Claudia walked out of the elevator and watched as the elevator made its way back up. She rolled her eyes, a little speechless. Then, she burst into laughter. She stood in the lobby and murmured, "Forget it. I'll have to sacrifice for Kendrix's happiness."

Back upstairs.

Sylvia returned upstairs and stood at the door. She took a deep breath before summoning the courage to reach out and knock on the door. "Thump thump thump."

After knocking on the door three times in a row, she stopped.

After waiting for a while, the door opened.

Sylvia's heart tightened. She looked up at Kendrix and then quickly lowered her head, as if she did not dare to look at him.

Kendrix was a little surprised to see Sylvia. She did not expect her to come back so soon. Not only that, she was alone. Kendrix could not help looking over Sylvia's shoulders with his deep gaze, but he saw no signs of Claudia.

His eyes darkened a little. A faint smile flashed across his face.

However, it disappeared as quickly as it came.

"Where's Claudia?" Kendrix asked calmly. He pretended as if nothing had happened.

"I asked her to give me an extra 15 minutes." Sylvia felt that there was no time to waste, so she went straight to the point.

Kendrix was slightly surprised. The corners of his mouth quirked up. "Did you ask her to wait downstairs?"

"Yes, I did." Sylvia nodded. "Claudia was glad to do it anyway. I'm sure she understands me."

"Come on in." Kendrix stepped aside only slightly to give her some space and invited her into the house.

Sylvia did not mind it and proceeded to enter the house.

She would inevitably brush against Kendrix's body.

Sylvia's faint fragrance made Kendrix's breath quicken instantly.

Sylvia's breath caught in her throat, but she calmly

walked in.

Indeed, she brushed past Kendrix's body as she entered the house.

Kendrix did not expect that Sylvia would be so determined that she dared to continue walking into the house after brushing past him.

He reached out and closed the door. Before he could turn around, he saw a figure rushed toward him.

Kendrix was stunned for a moment. He was then pressed up against the door by Sylvia. She raised her head and looked into his eyes. Although her face was red and she looked very shy, she still did not avoid him.

Kendrix was caught off guard and sighed imperceptibly.

That was something no one could refuse, but it was also a great test of one's self-control.

Kendrix felt that he always found himself in deep water.

He plastered a gentle smile on his face.

Such a smile rarely appeared on Kendrix's face, so Sylvia was stunned when she saw it.

She was captivated by his charm again and nearly forgot the business at hand.

She tried hard to maintain her rational thoughts.

Although she was blushing, one could see the determination in her eyes.

"Remember that I asked you a question before we were interrupted by Claudia's phone? Now, you can answer me." Sylvia gathered up her courage and brought up the topic from earlier. "Wow, you're persistent, aren't you?" Kendrix asked with a smile.

Sylvia pouted her red lips

Kendrix's eyes fell right on it.

Sylvia briefly glanced at him and was a little annoyed when she realized that Kendrix was staring at her, not answering her question. Instead, he was asking her a question.

Couldn't he tell the truth? Is it so hard to answer a question?

"Yes, I'm very persistent." Sylvia nodded seriously.

Kendrix also nodded. "However, if I tell you, will you be able to handle the truth?"

Sylvia narrowed her eyes and looked at Kendrix. She found that his eyes were particularly gentle and there was a gentle smile in his gaze.

It was as if she had missed something.

"Judging by your expression, does it mean that you never had a girlfriend?" Sylvia's eyes flashed with excitement. It meant that Claudia was right.

Kendrix had never dated before.

Kendrix just looked at Sylvia without saying a word. His eyes were still very gentle.

Sylvia thought for a moment and said, "Actually, I know I shouldn't have asked you this question. I came back to apologize to you." Kendrix was stunned. He lowered his head and looked at Sylvia intently. He reached out and swiftly pulled her closer into his arms. Sylvia's face became even redder as she kept her eyes on Kendrix. She did not lower her head even though she was in his arms then. On the contrary, she tried hard not to be shy as she looked into Kendrix's eyes.

"Why are you apologizing?" Kendrix's voice became slightly hoarse.

"Yes." Sylvia nodded. "I want to

sincerely apologize to you. I shouldn't have let it bothered me. It was very immature of me. I admit it, but honestly, I was afraid that you had a dream girl in your heart. That was why I was a little upset jäst now. I dug a hole for myself and could not seem to get out. However, Claudia talked some sense into me earlier. I suddenly could understand it now."

"What did Claudia say that gave you such a sudden realization?" Kendrix asked with a smile, "Did she tell you that I've never dated before?"

"How did you know?" Sylvia's eyes widened in surprise as she looked at Kendrix.

Kendrix smiled and said nothing.

Sylvia pouted and said, "Anyway,

that's not the point. The reason why I'm not angry or sad anymore is not because Claudia told me that you never had a girlfriend, it's because Claudia said that I'm all that you're thinking of now. It was only then I realized how immature I was to be dwelling on it."

When Kendrix heard that, there was a hint of appreciation in his eyes. It seemed that he did not expect that Sylvia would have everything all figured out.

Sylvia said again, "You're my

boyfriend now. If I can keep making

you fall in love with me over and

over, those things won't affect us at all. However, if I can't make you pay attention to me at all times, no matter how sad I am, you won't pay attention to me.

Therefore, I believe that rather than worrying about things that is out of my control, it's better to appreciate what I have now."

The smile on Kendrix's face grew wider as he heard what she said.

He looked at the clock on the wall and reminded her, "You told Claudia to give you 15 minutes, right? There's still ten minutes left then."

Sylvia was stunned. She looked into Kendrix's eyes and seemed to see some encouragement.

After a moment of hesitation, Sylvia stood on tiptoe, hooked her arms around Kendrix's neck and kissed him on the lips.

Kendrix was so happy that his smile reached his eyes, as if he was on cloud nine.

Kendrix had his hands wrapped tightly around Sylvia's waist. When she kissed him, he responded with a soft kiss before he slightly pulled apart and said, "Wait a minute."
