True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 250
Grace's heart skipped a beat. At that moment, there was a look of panic on her face. Her first thought was whether Heinz had discovered Little Gary's existence. No, that couldn't be right.
After thinking over it for a while, she suddenly realized what he meant to ask was that if she would still be with him or not.
If who he meant was Little Gary, she would be able to be with him without any hindrance.
But if that wasn't the case, who else would he have had a one night stand with?
He did it with her before, so it's possible that he had done it with other women too.
Grace's face looked stiff and she felt uncomfortable.
Upon seeing her response, Heinz frowned. He smiled faintly and said, "You look terrified. Was my joke that bad?"
"You're kidding?" Grace asked uncertainly.
"Of course I was kidding." He proceeded to say in a deep voice, "Do you think I have the time to have a baby with someone else?"
"It's hard to tell," she whispered.
Or else, how would she explain Little Gary?
As soon as she finished speaking, Heinz looked at
her and they stared at each other for a long time.
At last, he said, "What do you mean it's hard to tell?"
Grace pouted and said, "I mean, who knows? You might really have a child out there and have no idea about it."
"What's wrong with you?" Heinz chuckled and said, "Don't take it seriously, I was just fooling around. Jensen spotted a child who looked like me and I just thought of asking you the question. That's it." "Jensen saw a child who looked like you?" Grace's heart jolted again. Could it be Little Gary?
"Where?" She asked further.
"I don't know. He called me after sending your sister home, shouldn't be far from your place," Heinz replied. "Well, this has nothing to do with me. It has nothing to do with you either. Okay?" Grace bit her lips. Feeling anxious, she could feel her palms get sweaty. It didn't necessarily have nothing to do with them.
Nevertheless, she felt a sense of relief.
If her guess was right, the child that Jensen saw was indeed Little Gary. It would not be that horrifying if that's the case.
Wait, no.
That was still terrifying.
It seemed that she had to look for a chance to talk about this matter with Heinz.
Glancing at her seemingly perplexed look, Heinz frowned and asked, "What are you thinking about?"
She came to her senses and shook her head, "Nothing. I was just thinking what if..."
"What do you mean?"
"What if you really have a child?"
"That's impossible," Heinz denied, without pausing for thought.
"What if?"
"There's no what if," he said in a deep voice. "How'd a man with integrity like me ended up impregnating some random woman whom I didn't know?" "Maybe it was an accident?" Grace probed cautiously.
"No way," Heinz replied.
Grace curled her lips and said, "How are you so sure? Don't tell me you haven't done that before with other woman before you met me."
"Did what?" He raised his eyebrows, getting annoyed. "Just say it."
"Have sex," Grace said bluntly.
Heinz froze, fixing his gaze on her.
After a brief pause, he shook his head and said, "I'm not completely pure. But rest assured I've been very careful."
Grace was so speechless that her words stuck in her throat.
She threw him a glance. She could sense that he had thought of something.
"Okay, you said you're not pure. How many women have you slept with?" She couldn't hide her eagerness to know.
She had reached the stage where she wanted to know everything about this man.
Including his previous relationships.
A frown appeared on his face. Words stuck in his throat.
"Like, did you have a girlfriend?" Grace asked with a curious look.
Heinz stared at her, with some hesitation and caution in his eyes.
She saw through him.
He definitely had someone in the past.
They remained quiet and the silence was unnerving.
Feeling suffocated from the tense atmosphere, she dared not utter a word.
"I'd be lying if I told you I had none," Heinz said in a low voice. "If this is what you want to know, I'll tell you. I was with this woman for a seemingly long time. It was many years ago."
Grace's heart was lifted.
And then It was silent again.
She looked at Heinz in a daze and did not speak for a long time.
Heinz said softly, "Look, it's all in the past. Bringing it up now is meaningless."
"I know," She finally spoke. "I mean, other than that girlfriend?" "No more," he answered without any hesitation.
Graze was astounded.
What about her?
What about the mistake that had happened on that night six years ago?
Has he forgotten? Or was he lying?
At this rate, he was obviously irritated. "Take some rest okay? Stop asking pointless things," he said coldly.
"Oh." She nodded, but she couldn't calm her heart down.
Was he not being honest? Or did he really not remember at all?
Was he so carefree about life to think that a one-night stand was nothing worth mentioning?
"Grace?" Heinz frowned and looked at her, who was still in a daze. There was a hint of uncertainty in his eyes.
"Yes?" Grace raised her eyes and looked at him in confusion.
Their eyes fixed on each other.
He asked, "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine," she answered.
He thought the mentioning of his ex-girlfriend made her feel uncomfortable.
He said, "This will be the last time I'm saying this. My ex-girlfriend is abroad and won't be coming back. There's no chance that our path will cross again, you can rest your mind. And this happened many years
ago."
He thought she would feel better after his reassurance. But there was still a puzzled look on her face, which worried him.
After what seemed like an eternity, Grace finally responded, although perfunctorily, "Okay. I'm tired. I think I'm going to sleep for a while."
After that, she lay down, turned over, her back facing him and didn't say a word anymore.
Of course, she couldn't fall asleep.
Her mind was in a mess.
Heinz looked at her back. Knowing that she was not asleep, he couldn't help but ask, "Grace, why are you so uneasy?"
Grace was stunned. After a pause, she said, "Heinz, can I ask you again? That's the only woman you had?"
"Yes," he answered without a second thought.
Unexpectedly, she turned around and stared at him again, "Are you sure you're not remembering wrongly?"
"Yes, I'm sure." He said in a deep voice, "How could I forget such an important matter?"
Grace was dumbfounded. Out of the blue, she sneered, full of self-mockery.
Did she conceive Little Gary by herself?
