"Come again?" he said with an unpleasant tone.

She actually asked him to replace another woman. Was he that kind of man?

Grace was already not in the pink of health, and now she was being treated so rudely. Was the lust the only feeling he had for her?

"I meant exactly what I said." She said coldly, "You didn't hear it wrongly. If what you want is to sleep with a woman, sorry to say I'm not the one for you." She tried to get away from him.

But he held her wrist and drove her into a corner. There was no way for her to leave.

He looked down at her, his eyes burning. "Am I a man with no bottom line to you?"

"I was under the impression that you had no bottom line," Grace said, "The doctor said that I can't be agitated. What you've done could've killed me!"

Heinz lifted Grace up and strode towards the bed.

"Put me down!" she protested.

Ignoring her, he put her down on the bed and covered her with the blanket.

Under the dim light, Grace couldn't figure out his expression, but she could feel his sharp gaze looking down at her.

It was impossible to ignore his gaze.

She felt a little pain in her heart. It was suffocating.

"Go to sleep," he finally said.

After that, he turned around and left the room.

Grace was taken aback. Where was he going at this time?

Sure enough, he left and didn't come back.

He didn't come back even at dawn.

Grace didn't go back to sleep. At dawn, she got up to wash up and got her blood drawn again for testing.

For the whole day, she hadn't caught a sight of Heinz.

Yet another day had passed.

The toxins in her body had almost cleared up. She felt much better now that her heartbeat had become more stable.

She couldn't wait to be discharged.

Although Heinz was not there, the bodyguards, Alex, and Lester had been guarding her well.

Every day without fail, bodyguards were arranged at the door entrance, and even her meals were brought from Heinz's residence. The meals were all carefully planned to ensure maximum nutrition. It was so boring in the hospital that it was driving her crazy.

After a final check-up, the doctor finally approved her discharge.

She was so excited upon hearing the news and guickly got changed, ready to leave the hospital.

"We'll send you home, Miss Smith," Lester said when she had almost finished packing up.

"Oh, it's okay," Grace shook her head. "I'm fine by myself. I'll just call a cab."

"But Miss Smith," Lester was in a tough spot. "It's the President's orders that we must escort you."

"Your president's order?" Grace was suddenly fuming, "Who gave him permission to interfere with my freedom?"

Lester was at a loss for words.

He had noticed that Heinz has not appeared ever since he left that night.

Although he didn't know what happened, it seemed that they had a fight.

Grace had lived on her own for two nights and was very tired. It was normal for her to be grumpy now.

After all, Heinz had left her alone for two days.

Lester dropped his bag and said helplessly, "Miss Smith, if we fail to heed his order, the President will probably give us a hard time." Grace threw a glance at Lester.

His eyes were practically begging her to come along.

She sighed. "Fine, let me make a call."

As she spoke, she took out her phone and called Heinz.

Heinz answered immediately, "Hello?" He had been waiting for her call.

Although his voice sounded restrained, he couldn't hide his excitement.

"I'm leaving the hospital. Please evacuate your men. Don't make things difficult for them. I don't want to be restricted."

Grace said coldly without any emotion.

"You called me after so long. And you're talking to me with such a tone?" Heinz said.

"What tone?" Grace's anger has reached its peak. "My tone could be worse! I'm seriously very mad now. Who are you to request what tone should I use? Does everyone have to lick your boots?" ." Nothing came from Heinz.

"Don't try to manipulate me. I won't give in," she said and hung up the phone.

The more she thought about it, the angrier she became.

How could he be so selfish? She couldn't understand.

She was already trying to restrain herself, but she was not a saint. She couldn't take it that she had to be the one to give in when it was him who was in the wrong.

The phone rang again.

Grace did not answer it. After venting her anger on him, she instantly felt better.

Lester and Alex looked at each other in dismay. They can't believe that Grace had just shouted at their President.

There was silence in the room.

Grace took a deep breath and strode out.

Lester hurriedly followed after her.

As Grace reached the ground floor, Lester was still following her.

She felt that she shouldn't overdo it.

So, she stopped and said, "Lester, take me to Heinz."

Lester was surprised, and then he said cheerily, "Great. You should've done so earlier, Miss Smith."

Grace had been thinking about one thing on her way out, which was to face it head-on.

No matter what, she had to face the problem.

Turning away was not the best solution.

Twenty minutes later.

They arrived at the Jones Estate.

Grace was brought directly to Heinz's office by Lester.

Heinz was still in a foul mood that Grace had not been picking up his calls.

There was a knock on the door.

He shouted, "Who's that?"

"President, it's me," Lester responded respectfully.

"Get the hell in!" Heinz yelled again.

His tone further irritated Grace.

She opened the door. Once she was inside, she saw him standing in front of the window, smoking with a sombre mood.

Seeing his gloomy look, her heart ached a little.

But once she thought of his behavior, her anger was back in full force.

Grace took a deep breath and said, "It's me."

Heinz froze for a second and turned to look at Grace, his eyes full of incredulity.

Why was she here?

Lester sensibly closed the door and left them alone.

Grace stood next to the door, her gaze showing unyielding determination.

Once Heinz came to his senses, he walked across the room towards her.

In the blink of an eye, he was standing in front of her.

He looked very haggard. This man had such a strong ego that he was willing to skip his blood test and disappear for almost two days.

Having endured it for two days now, Grace felt like tearing him apart.

Their eyes fixed on each other, with about half a meter between them.

Silence.

Grace tried to look calm by breathing deeply.

She raised her chin slightly. Her eyes were calm and clear.

Heinz could feel her breath brushing against his nose.

Heinz frowned slightly, as if he was trying his best to suppress something. He clenched his fist and let it go again.

Noticing his small gesture, Grace snorted and said sarcastically, "Clenching your fist to hit me?"

Heinz was dumbfounded.

"So you're so mad that you turned away and disappeared for two days. Can you even call yourself a man?"
