True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 275
Alice's face flushed a little. She felt embarrassed with Grace right next to her. Throwing a glance at Grace, Alice realized she was staring at her and smiling. She immediately shouted at Jensen over the phone,
"I'm not in the mood to talk to you."
After hanging up on Jensen, she looked at Grace, still slightly abashed.
"You shouldn't be so rude with Officer Charm. It's better for girls to be gentle," Grace said.
"You have no idea how annoying he is," Alice said. "How could he fall in love with me at first sight? I'm not worthy of him to do that. I feel that he has his own agenda. I can't figure out what his motive is yet but I'm sure it's not love at first sight."
Alice has always been a sensitive person.
Grace was dazed but she didn't show it. She said with a smile, "That's just your excuse for not wanting to be in a relationship."
"I'm serious. I don't think his motive is pure," Alice said sternly.
"Well, you have the say then." Grace was trying to end the conversation.
Alice let out a sigh and suddenly remembered something. "Hold on," she said.
"Okay," Grace replied.
Alice rushed to her bag and took out the card.
She came back and handed it to Grace.
Grace was puzzled and asked, "What's this?"
Alice looked at her and said wholeheartedly, "I know that you have secretly helped me with the medical fees. Jensen got it back for us. This is the refund." "Refunded?" Grace was dumbstruck.
"Yeah, it was refunded in full amount," Alice nodded and said.
Still feeling suspicious, Grace asked, "Is it for real?"
"It has to be. Jensen guided me through the procedures in the police station. I signed the papers. It shouldn't be wrong," Alice said.
"It's weird," Grace said.
"There's nothing weird. Just take the money, okay?" Alice said gratefully, "Thank you, Grace."
Grace looked at her and burst into laughter. "Don't mention it. We are family. Anyway this money belongs to Little Gary. A kid could earn more than me just by playing games. I should be ashamed." "Of course, don't you know that my nephew is a genius?" Alice said proudly.
"Okay, I'll keep the money. Just tell me when you need it," Grace said.
Alice refused, "I don't want the money. There's nothing for me to buy after all."
Grace immediately shook her head and said, "No, I think you need to get yourself some new clothes. I'll transfer some money to you later, and you can do some shopping tomorrow."
"But I don't need new clothes," Alice protested.
"I'll buy for you then," Grace said. "Either you buy it yourself, or I'll buy it for you. Choose one."
"Fine, I'll go." Alice finally relented.
"Okay."
The next morning, Grace went to the newspaper office.
When she was entering the office, Hermione was also on her way in.
"Hi Grace, how are you doing?" Hermione asked.
"I'm feeling much better, Editor Lowe," Grace replied with a smile. "Sorry I had to take some time off work." "No worries. As long as you're okay," Hermione said. "You came just in time, Grace. Can I ask you something? About the investment that Heinz mentioned, we have yet to have a formal discussion. Since you're here today, do you want to go to the Jones Estate with me?"
"No," Grace refused without hesitation.
Hermione immediately felt something was amiss. She looked at Grace and asked cautiously, "What's wrong? Did you have a fight?"
Grace pursed her lips and nodded, "Not just a fight.
We've broken up."
Hermione was taken aback. "That fast?"
Grace nodded and said, "We have really called it quits this time." "Why?" Hermione asked in disbelief.
Grace looked uneasy. Hermione probably realized she was asking too much and hurriedly said, "Sorry, Grace. This is your privacy."
"It's okay," Grace shook her head again. "I'm no match for Mr. Jones. He was the one who suggested it. And to be honest, I couldn't see a future with him either. So that's it."
"You are more worthy than you think, Grace. Don't think too lowly of yourself." Hermione was trying to cheer her up. "Otherwise, you wouldn't have attracted his attention."
"We have a clash of personalities," Grace said. "I have made up my mind. By the way, about the cooperation, it's better that you don't bring me up. I think he may not want to hear anything about me." "Okay," Hermione nodded.
What a shame.
It was half past ten in the morning.
In Jones Estate, Lester was so intimidated by the atmosphere in the President's office that he was trying hard not to breath heavily.
He could smell tobacco once he entered the office.
"President, Hermione Lowe is here to see you"
Heinz leaned lazily on the sofa and said with a poker face, "Let her in."
"Okay," Lester replied.
When Hermione entered the room and saw Heinz, she was startled by the look of Heinz.
The corner of his eyes was bruised, and there were some scars on his lips. However, his aura was still
so strong and powerful.
Her expression froze and then she smiled thinly and said, "Mr. Jones, I'm here to discuss with you about the advertisement according to our previous agreement."
Heinz nodded without any expression on his face. "You can confirm the details with Lester," he said.
Hermione was taken aback. She said, "Okay, I'll talk to Assistant Lester then."
Lester was in a daze. He didn't know anything about the project. Previously, it was all arranged by the President. He wouldn't even allow anyone to have a hand in it. And now the President was just handing it over to him like that? He was totally confused.
Heinz threw Lester a quick look and said, "The investment funds have been transferred. Sort out the details with Editor Lowe. The advertisement has to go on."
"Yes, President." Lester then turned to Hermione and said, "Please come with me to the reception room."
"Okay," Hermione replied.
She gave Heinz a slight nod before walking out with Lester.
As soon as they were at the door, Heinz suddenly said, "Editor Lowe."
Hermione came to a halt and turned around. "Is there anything else that I can do for you, Mr. Jones?"
"Can I ask you a favor?" Heinz asked.
"Sure," Hermione replied.
Heinz said, "I want to compensate Grace, but I know she certainly won't take it. Can you give it to her in the name of your company?"
Hermione was astounded. She felt that this matter seemed to be straightforward, but in fact, it was very tricky.
She said, "Mr. Jones, since you want to make it up to Grace, why don't you tell her yourself?"
Heinz frowned and said in a cold voice, "Just tell me, can you help me or not?"
"Sorry, I can't," Hermione replied. "Even if you cut off the investment because of that, I can't do this favor for you."
