True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 294
Grace stared at Heinz with distant and indifferent eyes. It was as if she was a queen, looking at his shameful act with disdain. The look in her eyes was condescending.
Heinz's pupils contracted tightly, he squinted his eyes at Grace and said, "What's your relationship with that man?"
"Hmph!" Grace gave a wry smile and said, "Does it have anything to do with you?"
"Yes, it does," he said in a low voice.
"How so?" Grace looked at him with a smirk.
Just when Heinz was about to speak, suddenly footsteps could be heard coming from outside. It was the clicking sound of high heels.
Grabbing the great opportunity, Grace immediately shouted, "Hei—"
Before she could finish her sentence, Heinz covered her mouth with one hand and placed the other on her chest.
She froze and was at a loss for words.
Moving closer to her, Heinz whispered in her ear, "If you move again, I can't guarantee what I'd do."
Grace inhaled deeply, her eyes flashed with anger.
A heavy silence fell upon them.
She didn't say anything but fixed her gaze at Heinz
coldly.
He returned her gaze too. Their eyes were burning with rage.
"Swoosh- " The sound of running water came from the next stall, making the atmosphere even more awkward.
Heinz narrowed his eyes and locked them on hers.
The woman facing him had such delicate and beautiful facial features, which made his heart flutter. Especially her pair of sparkling eyes that are glowing bright. That gaze of hers was so calm.
When Heinz thought about it, he realized that she had always been rational.
Except for that time on the mountain, when they encountered a venomous snake on that pouring night. She had lost her cool and helped him suck out the venom. That was the only time he had seen her lose her mind. Under normal circumstances, she had always been portraying a calm demeanor.
Heinz could only think of one reason for her behavior. She did not love him enough.
That was why she could easily move on after their break up. Meanwhile, he was like a fool, unable to let go of her.
He was simmering with anger as he looked at her being so distant and cold towards him.
"Click-clack click-clack..." The sounds of the high heels faded out, again there was no one else in the
restroom.
Grace immediately reached out and tried to push Heinz away. "Let me go!" she said.
"You've known Tyler for a long time, haven't you?" he growled through gritted teeth.
"So what?" she said.
"Do you like him?" he asked.
Grace's heart froze. She was speechless.
Tyler was her friend. Of course she liked him.
But there was no romance involved between them. She had always been able to distinguish her feelings clearly. "Yes, I like him," Grace said. "In fact I like him very much and it has nothing to do with you. Let go of me, Heinz."
Upon hearing that, Heinz felt as if his world was falling apart.
He felt broken inside.
He stared at the woman in front of him with mixed emotions in his eyes.
Not long ago, she risked her life to save him and they even had a passionate time in the mountain villa. And now, she was throwing him an apathetic look.
In a short span of time, she was happily laughing next to another man and even confessed her love for him.
His heart was shattered into a million pieces.
"How could you...?" He looked at her in a daze, his eyes full of annoyance, accusation, pain, and anger. "How could your feelings change so easily?"
Grace scowled.
She knew that Heinz had gotten the wrong idea. But it did not matter to her as she had no intention to explain herself.
In fact, she was telling the truth. If she did not like Tyler, he would not have become her good friend.
"That's my business," Grace said lightly. "Let me go."
Seeing her so sickened by him and resisting him, Heinz felt a jolt of anger. His lips twisted in a mirthless smile with a hint of bitterness.
Grace looked at his face in bewilderment, clearly not knowing what was on his mind.
He was the one who wanted to part ways with her. Why was he acting like that?
Did he not resign to it?
She nibbled on her bottom lip and gave a selfmocking smile. "Are you done?"
"I'm not done yet!" he suddenly shouted. He stared at her deeply, his voice was full of anger.
Still being pressed on the door of the toilet, Grace thought of Tyler who was still waiting for her outside. The unpleasant smell of the toilet might have even affected her appetite to eat. "Let go of me!" she pushed him fiercely.
As the space was so narrow, he bounced back after backing off a bit.
In a fury, Grace wrestled with all her strength using both her hands and legs.
Out of nowhere, she hit her back on the door handle. It hurt so much that she gasped in pain.
She broke out in cold sweat and was frozen to the spot.
Heinz then grabbed her and trapped her between the flat door and himself. He said in a deep voice, "You're not allowed to fall in love with others."
Grace paused for a moment. She could feel his chest heaving with his heavy breathing. Her heart ached briefly, but at the same time anger swept over her. She could not fathom the way he was reacting.
He was trying to have her under his control even after their breakup.
After calming down, she said coldly, "Heinz, why are you still pestering me? Have you forgotten that I'm a mother with a child?"
Heinz's eyes instantly darkened.
He was surprised that she still had the audacity to bring it up.
It seemed that she had not been taking him seriously from the beginning.
"Ha." Heinz said with a self-mocking smile, "I'm such a fool. Ha! I can't believe that I got played by you."
His words hit her like a thunderbolt.
Her face etched with sorrow.
Not being able to face him, she looked away, tears began to well up in her eyes.
"You got played?" Grace sneered. She was on the verge of tears. However, she took a deep breath, trying hard to hold the tears that were threatening to fall. "You're just fooling me," Heinz said, his eyes were cold.
Grace let out a sarcastic laugh, "I fooled you? Ha ha, what did I get from playing with your feelings?"
Heinz's expression changed all of a sudden. "Don't you need a bargaining chip if you were to make such a big bet? You made yourself a bargaining chip." Grace was in dismay, her vision blurred again.
She felt suffocated by him.
But she told herself that she shouldn't take it to heart as he was just venting his frustration after their separation.
If she cared, it only showed that she couldn't let go of him.
She did not want to be the one who couldn't move on.
But his words broke her heart. It hurt so much as if she was being ripped apart.
Pressing her lips together, she did not answer him and reached out to grab the door handle.
"Don't leave," he said in a deep voice.
Suddenly, a male voice came from outside, "Grace? Where are you?"
It was Tyler's voice.
Heinz's body stiffened instantly, his eyes blazing with rage. Then, he abruptly lowered his head and sealed Grace's mouth with his.
