"I'm gifting chocolates on your behalf," Heinz said generously.

"On my behalf? Who do you think you are to do that?" Grace said sharply, "You can't represent me."

Grace was so indignant that she became incoherent all of a sudden.

Everyone else was stunned and looked in their direction.

Grace looked at everyone awkwardly, and then at Heinz again. She was even more anxious. Who did he think he was?

Heinz paused for a moment, looked down at her, and then turned to look at the others.

Hannah smiled awkwardly and continued counting with a pen and paper in her hands.

Chuck averted his eyes and didn't look at Grace and Heinz, pretending that he hadn't heard anything.

Lester looked away as well.

All of them acted as if they had not seen anything.

Heinz looked at Grace and said with a smile, "But I want to represent you. If gifts are being given in your name, they shouldn't be small and insignificant. I want to represent you and give people huge boxes of chocolates so that they would be happy." "You..." Grace really couldn't understand him. She

lowered her voice and growled, "What the hell are you doing?"

"Giving out chocolates." He said seriously, word by word, "A large box for each person."

Grace found that there was no way to argue with Heinz. He was a person who did whatever he wanted all the time.

She could only say in a low voice, "If you love giving out things, go ahead, but don't do it on my behalf."

She was putting up a fight.

After Grace had finished speaking, she returned to her seat, her mood for the rest of the day ruined.

She realized that she was letting her guard down. How could she have reasoned with him? It was a childish move.

She sat down and took a deep breath. She had to recenter her heart and mind to avoid being affected.

Heinz saw that she was ignoring him, so he stood there and stared at her. He just couldn't take his eyes off her.

When Hermione entered and saw Heinz standing there, looking at Grace, she was taken aback. "Mr. Jones, why are you here?"

Heinz regained his composure and turned to Hermione, who was walking toward him, and said, "I'm here to talk to you about the collaboration."

"Let's go into my office, then," Hermione said causally.

"Okay." Heinz smiled faintly and said, "After you."

Hermione was stunned. Why was he so polite?

She never thought she'd witness a day when Heinz was polite to her. It was a 180-degree change. He was no longer as arrogant as he once was.

He was so much more humble than before to a lowly editor like her.

Hermione was very surprised. She then looked in the direction of Grace. Grace had her head lowered, but it was as if she could sense someone staring. She raised her head and met Hermione's gaze. There was a pleading look in her eyes.

Hermione understood at once. She nodded to Grace subtly, indicating she understood what Grace meant.

Grace felt a little relieved. Then, she lowered her head and continued her work.

Heinz glanced at Grace covertly and followed Hermione into her office.

Lester and Hannah were checking the list outside. After doing that, Lester walked up to Grace and said, "Miss Smith, how about we give you two boxes?"

"I don't want any," Grace refused flatly.

"Two boxes it is," Lester said as though he hadn't heard her.

"Assistant Lester." Grace was stunned and said, "Could you please stop troubling me?"

"Miss Smith, I can't afford to offend the president." Lester said, "If I don't do it, I would lose my job. The both of you had a small argument, but for me, this would hamper me from putting food on the table for my family. Could you be so kind as to help me

with this?"

Grace opened her mouth to say something, but ended up staying silent.

That was really terrible.

"What on earth is Heinz trying to do?" Grace lowered her voice and groaned.

Lester shook his head and said, "I don't know. I was called here this morning. As for what the president is planning to do, I really don't know."

"You can go." Grace said in a cold voice, "Try to stay away from me, please."

"Then, I'll assign you two boxes. The chocolates won't expire anyway," Lester continued in a persuasive tone.

Grace said testily, "Just do as you like. Whatever you give me, I will take, even a truckload."

"Alright." Lester immediately said, "If you want a truckload of chocolates, our president will be very happy. Even if you had wanted a chocolate factory, our president would be willing to give you that." "You..." Grace went speechless. "You win."

She looked at Lester and was so mad that she couldn't say anything.

Was this assistant of his just like Heinz, so unreasonable and shameless?

They must have a brazen plot.

Grace lowered her head without looking at Lester.

Lester smiled and said, "Miss Smith, you can carry on with your work. I'll carry on with my duties."

Grace was struck dumb again.

Lester seemed to have found a way to defeat her, which made Grace feel a little helpless.

She turned her eyes to the editor's office.

She really felt like losing it today.

When the phone rang, she looked at her watch. It was 9:40 in the morning.

Heinz was still in the editor's office.

She picked up the phone and said, "Tyler?"

"Grace, you asked me to help you replace someone to interview. I've asked my lecturer to do it. Do you want to interview him?"

"A lecturer?" Grace was stunned. "That's great. He must be cultured. I like that."

"Then, what are you waiting for?" Tyler smiled and asked, "Shall I go and fetch you?"

"No, there's no need for that. Just give me the address. I'll take a taxi."

"North campus of the Northern City University."

"Alright, I'll go there right away." Grace immediately packed up her things and whispered to Chuck. "I'm going to go and conduct an interview. If the editor has something she wants me to do, just call me." "Are you leaving now?" Chuck asked doubtfully, "Aren't you waiting for the chocolates?"

"Nope." Grace said, "Not interested."

"Okay." Chuck sighed in regret. "I don't understand you two, but Grace, I have something to tell you, too."

"What is it?" Grace looked at him in surprise.

"You can't suppress your feelings," Chuck said.

Grace was stunned. After thinking for a while, she smiled and said, "Thanks for the reminder."

It was not that she was suppressing her feelings, but she couldn't endure being with a person who constantly insulted and mocked her.

Soon after, Grace left.

As Heinz came out of the editor's office at ten o'clock, he subconsciously looked toward Grace's seat.

Nobody?

Hermione noticed where he was looking.

Grace was not there. Everything on the table was arranged neatly, and it appeared that she had left.

Hermione remained calm and said to Heinz, "Mr. Jones, we will write a feasibility report for you as requested."

"I'm not worried about that." Heinz nodded and looked around.

Lester immediately came over and whispered in his ear, "Miss Smith answered a phone call and went out. It's been 20 minutes now."

Heinz frowned and nodded slightly.

At this time, Chuck came over and said to Hermione, "Editor Lowe, Grace went out for an interview. She might only be back in the afternoon."

As he spoke, he glanced at Heinz and smiled.

Obviously, these words were meant for Heinz.

Heinz smiled at him. He knew how to return a favor. A box of chocolate was enough to bribe the staff at Entertainment Daily.
