Grace was rendered beyond speechless.

After a while, she said, "If she goes to Jensen's place later, perhaps that would be considered progress."

"Grace," Heinz frowned as he did not understand Grace's train of thoughts. "Why are you not at all worried that your sister is going out with a man for the night?" She took a look at him but did not say anything. She wanted to start cooking.

Even if Alice went with Jensen, it would not be a big deal. After all, trauma ran deep in Alice's heart. No one could tell whether her relationship with Jensen would develop. Jensen didn't seem to be a bad guy. Grace just hoped that her sister could overcome herself, prevail over her trauma and began to trust men.

After Heinz rolled his eyes, he suddenly thought of something. He looked at Grace and said, "I finally understand why you are not worried about Alice going out with Jensen." Grace ignored him.

Heinz said again, "I finally understand why Jensen thought the woman was you, but suddenly turned his eyes to your sister and asked her to be his girlfriend!"

Grace's heart jumped in shock and she looked up at Heinz.

"Because six years ago, Jensen had spent a night with Alice." Heinz said firmly, "That girl was your sister."

Grace took a deep breath. She stared at him in shock as she found him to be incredibly smart.

She had to admit that.

Grace then looked at his well-defined face with some helplessness in her eyes.

"And so, everything is happening as it should," Heinz said.

"Can you stop talking?" Grace lowered her voice and said, "The children might hear you."

"Sure." Heinz smiled and said, "I can stop talking about that, however..."

He paused and walked towards Grace.

In a flash, he was in front of her.

He hooked his arms around her waist again and inclined his head downwards to look at her. He asked, "Can I stay here tonight?" "Heinz, don't push your luck," Grace warned in a low voice instantly.

"I always have to push my luck when it comes to you," Heinz said. "You make me insatiable."

Grace was so embarrassed and she scolded, "Can you be more serious?"

"I'm serious," he said, lifting up her chin with his slender fingers and forcing her shy gaze to land on him.

He added, "Woman, I want to sleep here. I'm

serious."

Grace gritted her teeth and her mind was in a mess. In an instant, she was bewitched by his husky voice and all logic left her mind. However, she did not forget what was important.

"Heinz, don't tell Alice about what happened between them. Remember to never mention it. She's still traumatized," Grace reminded him.

Heinz was stunned. "Traumatized?"

Grace refused to elaborate, "Don't ask anymore."

She then shook away his hand.

But Heinz held her hand tightly.

Grace was a little dumbfounded.

"Since you replace it hard to tell me, let me think. Your sister should be 17 years old that year, right?" Heinz asked.

"Stop it," Grace warned in a whisper.

Heinz lowered his head and whispered in her ear, "Alright, I'll stop. I promise you that I'll keep it a secret. But can you comfort me tonight? I really need you." Grace's ears were hot. She pushed him away and said, "I want to make dinner, stop getting in my way. You're not hungry but the children are."

Heinz was pushed away. Looking at her shyness, a smile flashed across his eyes.

He became solemn and said, "Okay, don't worry, I won't say it. But it will be a good idea to make Jensen my brother-in-law."

Brother-in-law?

Grace looked at him speechlessly. He was thinking very far ahead. Who said they would be together and actually get married?

She asked herself if that was the same thing she was hoping for.

At that moment, she calmed down and looked at his handsome face. When he was not angry, he was pretty decent. But once he was impulsive, it was really scary.

Grace took a deep breath and thought in her heart, "All these years of raising my child, I've never had any hope for marriage. Perhaps, that is why, even now, I still have no hope for marriage at all." Perhaps, she had to start adjusting her heart and face everything in life with a positive attitude. Then, and maybe then, her life would be different.

"I still can't believe Jensen actually hid Little Gary's identity because of your sister. He forgot about our friendship and betrayed me for a woman," said Heinz. He was still upset about that.

"Aren't you sleepy?" Grace suddenly asked.

"I'm not sleepy." Heinz said, "I'll help you."

"I'd rather you don't," Grace laughed.

"Maybe I can peel off the shallots," Heinz proposed when he saw that there were shallots at the side.

Grace took a look at him and said, "Since you're willing to do it, you can start peeling it."

She was busy cooking and serving the cooked dishes onto the plates. When she turned around, she realized that Heinz had just finished peeling a single shallot. For the past five minutes, he had been peeling the same shallot. There was not much left of it; only its little inner part was left.

"Do you even know how to do it?" Grace asked in frustration.

Heinz was flabbergasted. He furrowed his brows and said, "I've peeled them all. Look, they're white and tender."

"It sure is very tender, but with only the inner part of the spring onion," Grace scoffed, turned around and began peeling the other shallots. Soon, she was done with one.

Heinz looked at her in shock, "That's it?"

He saw that the shallot which Grace took was basically not peeled off. He asked with doubt, "Are you sure you've peeled enough?"

"You are being too wasteful," Grace said. "You just need to remove the dry skin. As a young master, you don't need to do such basic chores. Let me do it. You can go out first and don't mess things up for me."

Heinz was a little frustrated.

"Hurry up and wash your hands," Grace urged him.

Heinz had no choice but to wash his hands, but he was still upset. He was unable to complete such a simple task. He thought that if he could not do it well, Grace would look down on him.

He suddenly realized that what he had done would give Grace a bad impression. Grace probably thought lightly of him now.

Heinz looked at Grace dejectedly. He stood at the door and did not speak for a long time.

Grace was soon done with the shallots. After she swept away the remains, the table was very clean. Then, she washed her hands. After that, she took a knife and a chopping board. Shortly after, the sound of chopping came from the kitchen. It was very rhythmic.

Heinz was amazed as he watched her work. She was skilled. She must have had done house chores frequently to be so good at it.

The shallots soon turned into small bits, and then Grace washed the pot.

During the entire process, she didn't look at Heinz at all and focused entirely on cooking. Then, she began cleaning the shrimps.

After rinsing them with water, she took a toothpick and pricked the back of a shrimp. Immediately, a string-like thing was extracted from it. Heinz asked in shock, "What are you doing?"

When Grace heard his voice, she was startled and exclaimed, "You haven't left yet? What are you doing standing by the door?"

"I'm watching you cook," he said awkwardly. "What did you do to the shrimp?"

"This is its intestines. If you don't pick it out, you'll be eating shrimp feces. Do you understand?" Grace explained. She was genuinely speechless as she thought that this guy probably only knew how to eat. Heinz shouted in horror, "Shrimp feces?"
