True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 360
Jensen placed his head beside Alice's ear and comforted her tirelessly in a gentle voice. He gently whispered to her without stopping.
No one knew how long Jensen continued in this posture, repeatedly expressing comforting words to Alice. Finally, Alice, who had been trembling and entrapped in extreme fear while sweating profusely, calmed down gradually.
She leaned heavily into his embrace and fell asleep. Her hair was wet with sweat.
Her face was very pale.
Her lips were also the same. They didn't seem to have blood in them.
Her eyes were tightly shut and she frowned in her sleep. It was obvious that she was extremely tired. Even after she had fallen asleep, she was still engulfed with endless fear. That caused her to be restless in her sleep.
Jensen put her down on the bed gently and placed a pillow under her head. He could see how weak she looked, lying down with her head on the pillow.
Then, he sat on the edge of the bed, feeling exhausted.
When he saw Alice sweating all over and couldn't sleep well, he stood up again and found her a change of clothes. He took his own large T-shirt and changed her into it.
While doing that, he didn't dare to glance at her.
He was afraid that when he saw her beautiful body, he would lose his self-control.
When he finally finished changing her clothes, she lay on the bed and fell into a deep sleep.
Jensen quickly picked up her clothes and dropped them into the washing machine to wash.
Then, he also quickly entered the bathroom and turned on the cold water tap to calm his body down.
Pouring cold water on his boiling blood cooled his sexual arousal instantly.
Jensen took a deep breath.
His face was full of regrets and he sighed.
Alice was seriously traumatised.
He quickly put on his clothes after taking a cold shower. Then, he went to check on Alice. When he saw her sleeping soundly, he was relieved and got out of the room. He looked at his watch and realized that it was already four o'clock in the morning.
Jensen couldn't fall asleep, so he picked up his phone and dialed a number.
The recipient of his phone call soon answered and spoke while yawning, "Boss, why are you still awake? Is there something urgent? Why are you calli "What is Tiffany doing?" Jensen asked.
The subordinate answered, "Tiffany? She must have gone home to sleep since she didn't have to work overtime."
"When she arrives at work today, tell her to call me," Jensen ordered.
"Understood," his subordinate replied.
me at this hour?"
After hanging up the phone, Jensen went back to the bedroom. He had a guest room here but the bed was not ready. That was because he had been living alone all these years. Therefore, he returned to the bedroom.
He lifted the quilt and lay down beside Alice.
After a while, Alice turned over and wrapped herself around him. She hugged half of his body while placing her leg on him, like a koala bear hugging a large tree.
She had fully regarded him as a huge pillow.
Jensen sighed inwardly.
He had finally managed to suppress his desire for her by taking a cold shower, but he probably had to get up again.
The girl in his arms was so soft and attractive.
He smiled bitterly and thought, "This must be my punishment. I owe this girl, who has inferiority complex but is outwardly strong."
After turning off the lights and closing his eyes, he hugged the young lady in his arms and fell asleep.
At half-past eight in the morning.
When the phone rang, Alice was still asleep. While she was in a daze, she heard someone answering the phone call.
"Hello, Tiffany?" The male voice was very soft as if he was purposely keeping the volume low. He got out of bed and said, "Hold on please." Then, he walked out.
The door was closed gently.
Alice was startled. She opened her eyes immediately and felt a splitting headache. Then, she realized that she was in an unfamiliar place.
She stared at the ceiling for a while. Then, she suddenly woke up and sat up abruptly.
Because of the pounding pain in her head, Alice hissed as she took a deep breath.
Where was this place?
The scene from last night flashed in her mind that instant.
She had gone to class the day before with her negative emotions and after that came back with Jensen. She even proposed to sleep together.
Oh, she had drunk beer and threw herself at Jensen.
But, what had happened after that?
Why couldn't she remember what had happened after that?
Had the both of them proceeded further after that?
She lowered her head and looked at herself. Then, she realized that she had changed into a man's large T-shirt.
Oh my God!
What had actually happened?
Alice wailed in her heart. Had she really slept with Jensen?
After all, she was the one who suggested it.
Could things get any worse than that?
However, Alice couldn't understand why she didn't have any impression of what had transpired afterwards.
She sat on the bed and looked at herself. She was only wearing a large T-shirt with nothing underneath. Deep inside, she felt even more uncertain.
Was there any substantial development between them?
Alice grabbed her hair with both hands and pulled it hard. Her hair was a mess, just like her heart.
Jensen answered the phone call. He was not only afraid of waking Alice up but also fearful of Alice discovering the content of his conversation over the phone.
Therefore, he went to the study room and closed the door. He also spoke in a very soft voice.
"Tiffany, there's something I want to consult you about," he began
"Boss, you can tell me directly,"Tiffany Allen, his colleague, spoke very frankly on the phone.
"You usually work on criminal profiling so I know that you are quite proficient in psychology. There's something I want to ask you," said Jensen.
"Boss, go ahead," Tiffany replied.
"Well." Jensen spoke hesitantly, "Some of the cases we handled in the past involved minors who had been violated by others when they were young. Generally, most of them become deeply traumatized. For girls, the pain they felt might last a lifetime, right?"
Tiffany agreed, "Yes, for females, when a sexual relationship happens that early in their lives when it shouldn't, the trauma might affect their whole life. In future, their relationship with their spouse might also suffer. Some girls may choose not to get married because of this."
"If a girl tried hard to overcome this barrier but her body reacted in fear and rejected all attempts made by her, is there a high possibility of overcoming this trauma?" Jensen, who was still hesitant, continued to ask.
Tiffany paused for a moment, then she asked in a voice full of curiosity, "Boss, from the way you are asking the questions, it seems that you have personally experienced it."
"Don't joke with me," Jensen immediately replied in a serious tone. "Don't try to gossip about this or pry into this secret."
Tiffany muttered in her heart, "From the looks of it, this must be true. Has he found a girlfriend with an unspeakable past?"
"Alright, Boss. Let me be honest with you. The possibility of overcoming this emotional trauma is very low," said Tiffany. "This group of people who have been hurt in the past can only overcome their emotional barrier by themselves. Or else, they will hurt others and can easily be hurt by others as well."
"Does she need to see a psychologist?" Jensen continued to ask.
"I don't think so." Tiffany said, "If the person is me, I wouldn't want others to know about what has happened to me. The more others know, the worse I will feel." "Then, how can we solve the problem?" Jensen asked.
"Love." Tiffany answered, "Touch her heart with your unconditional love. Perhaps it will be even more effective if you try to really understand her and continue to accept her. But I think it will be difficult to completely heal her."
"Why do I feel like I'm wasting my time having this conversation with you?" Jensen retorted.
"Ha-ha, Boss, why don't you choose me? I'm not suffering from any form of emotional trauma. If you want someone to fall in love with, it's better to replace me rather than somebody who has psychological issues." Tiffany's words were laced with a tinge of laughter. It was difficult to tell whether she was serious or joking.
Ignoring her, Jensen ordered, "Go and prepare all the profiling for the unresolved cases. You are not allowed to go for lunch if you can't finish them."
"Alright, I was wrong," Tiffany immediately begged for mercy. "I shouldn't have joked about it."
