True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 374
"Okay, tell me," said Grace. When she heard his words, she immediately looked at him excitedly. It seemed that she had completely forgotten about their old grudges. He was a good person. Therefore, she decided not to be angry with him anymore.
Anyway, no one was perfect. He was much more pleasing to the eye now.
No wonder people said that they should do good deeds. Those who had done good deeds would be very happy.
Heinz, who had done good deeds, was humble and low profile.
She liked Heinz even more.
When he saw Grace's reaction, he pressed his lips together again and said, "Let's talk about it after we get back. I'm driving, I would lose focus if we talk about it now."
"Okay," she replied, though she was very curious about what he wanted to say.
But she didn't want to bother him since he was driving.
Soon, they arrived at the Emerald Apartment. After getting off the car, Heinz went to fetch the medicine.
They then went upstairs together.
The moment they arrived home and put down the medicine, Grace could smell the hospital disinfectant scent on her body. She felt unwell and was also having her period, therefore, she said to Heinz, "I'm going to take a shower and change my clothes."
Heinz paused for a moment and looked relieved. He said, "Okay, you can go and take a shower."
Grace walked into the house and when she reached the door, she remembered the topic on the road just now and said, "Later, we will talk about the topic that you didn't get to finish sharing earlier." Heinz was astonished and twitched his lips. Then, he nodded and agreed, "Okay."
More than 20 minutes later, Grace came out with wet hair. She had changed into clean clothes and saw Heinz smoking.
His tall body was standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window. Light shone in from outside the window, extending the shadow of his tall figure. However, the grey smoke that shrouded his body seemed to be soaked in loneliness and desolation.
Grace was a little startled and wondered, "What's wrong with him?"
"Heinz?" Grace glanced at him and walked over.
He had almost finished smoking the cigarette in his hand. When he saw Grace, he immediately put it out and moved to throw it in the ashtray.
"Sorry, I smoked a cigarette," said Heinz.
Grace stared at him blankly with a touch of concern in her eyes. She asked, "Are you worried about something?"
"No," Heinz replied while shaking his head. He looked at Grace with a deep gaze but he didn't seem to be having one of his mood swings.
"Are you hungry?" Grace asked while looking at her watch. It was after one o'clock, and they hadn't eaten lunch yet.
"A little hungry," he answered.
"I'm hungry too, especially after taking a shower. Let me cook some noodles for us. It's already so late, it's more convenient to cook noodles," Grace said. "Okay," Heinz replied with a single word, but his gaze seemed to reflect his many unspoken words.
Grace entered the kitchen with a trace of suspicion in her heart. When the noodles were ready, she took them out and saw Heinz smoking again.
The white smoke enveloped his tall figure, making him look even more handsome and magnificent. Nevertheless, he still seemed to be in despair. "Stop smoking." Grace couldn't resist saying, "It's better for your health if you smoke less."
He nodded and hummed in agreement. It was rare for him to be so cooperative. He put out the cigarette and opened the window for ventilation.
Heinz went to wash his hands and sat down after that.
Grace passed the utensils to him.
He took the utensils in his hands.
"By the way, you said you have something to tell me earlier," she said after remembering it. "Why haven't you told me? Why are you hesitating to tell me? Does it trouble you?"
Heinz was stunned again. He quickly looked at Grace and said, "Actually, it's nothing innportant. I just thought of something."
"What is it?" Grace asked again.
"Grace, will you believe me?" Heinz looked into her eyes and asked.
Grace was startled for a while before she nodded.
"I hope that in future, you can trust me no matter what happens. Okay?" He had never spoken so seriously to her.
Grace nodded and said, "I've also thought about this matter today."
Heinz raised his eyebrows and asked in surprise, "You were thinking about this matter?"
"The matter of trust." Grace smiled and explained, "You asked me to leave when we met the lady this afternoon. Initially, I thought something improper must have happened but later, I found out that it wasn't the case. When I returned to the car, I kept trying to convince myself to believe in you. Look, I chose to believe in you and it turned out that you were helping a friend's mother. Things turn out well."
Heinz frowned. A glimpse of heartache could be seen in his eyes when he looked at Grace and thought, "What a silly girl."
"Trust is the key to a relationship," Grace continued.
"What you have said is right, I agree."
"Grace," Heinz called with a voice that sounded a little uncertain. "Are you willing to trust me?"
"Of course," Grace smiled and said. "Let's eat. We can talk while eating."
Heinz lowered his head while holding the utensils. The noodles were topped with a white and yellow poached egg and some bright green vegetables. The contrast of the colors was very stark. Looking at the food, Heinz found it unsettling.
"Does this bowl of noodles represent her? Does she perceive kindness and hatred the same way?" Heinz wondered.
He suddenly realized how amazing of a person she was.
However, was it appropriate for him to reveal the truth at that moment?
He took a bite of noodles and said softly, "It's delicious."
"Then hurry up and eat," Grace said softly. "You smoked so much and seemed to have something on your mind. Is it concerning the lady?"
"Her health is very poor," Heinz said. "She has high blood pressure and coronary heart disease. Both she and her husband have a serious illness."
"It's understandable why you are so sad," Grace said, full of understanding. "Then, you should go and visit them more often."
"Grace," Heinz said while looking at her affectionately. "I'm planning to go and visit them tomorrow."
"That's great. Go and check out on them!" Grace said, "Since you have accepted them as your parents, you should go and perform filial piety to
them on behalf of their son."
Son?
She had misunderstood.
Heinz's eyes narrowed intensely. He wanted to explain to her that his 'friend' was not the couple's son but he couldn't open his mouth when he looked at Grace's bright and beautiful face. He was afraid that the second he opened his mouth, he would ruin the beauty of that moment.
His Adam's apple bobbed several times and he opened his mouth to take a deep breath before saying, "Grace, no matter what happens, wherever or whenever it is, you must trust me."
"I trust you," Grace smiled and said. "Look, you are sharing this information with me now. That's a good start."
Heinz was speechless again.
"Good communication is key to a long lasting relationship. If there is anything in future, you should communicate it to me. Don't always act like an overbearing president in front of me," she said while eating her noodles. "Respect should be our foundation. As long as you respect me, I will definitely reward you by being more honest myself."
Heinz tightened his grip on his utensils and said, "Grace, thank you."
"You're welcome," Grace smiled gently and said. "Let's forget about our grudges and start anew."
He nodded and hummed in agreement but in his heart, he felt as if he had crushed a big stone.
They had put aside their former misgivings, but he still felt so uncertain in his heart.
"There's one more thing," Heinz said again.
"What is it?" Grace asked.
"I have employed a caregiver and bodyguard for the elderly couple," Heinz said.
"That's great," Grace said. "Anyway, it's within your abilities. Usually, successful people like you love to do good deeds. However, good deeds done under the spotlight are for show. Your good deed is done out of pure intentions."
Heinz was really surprised by her. Her heart was so kind and simple.
Her thoughts were as bright as the sun.
