True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 390
Grace Smith blushed, her ears turning red from embarrassment.
They were at the entrance of a children's clothing store. She did not want to be surrounded by passersby again, therefore she immediately stopped him in a low voice. "What are you talking about? We're in public now."
"So does that mean that I could do whatever I want if we're at home?" Heinz raised his eyebrows. His voice was hoarse and his tone was suggestive.
Grace's face became redder and she said quickly, "That's enough. Let's go home after buying the clothes."
Heinz Jones lowered his head to stare at her. He narrowed his eyes and a glimmer of light flashed across his eyes. He asked wickedly, "Hurry home so I could kiss you?" "Stop it," Grace replied. Her body turned stiff.
He was whispering into her ear and his warm breath was making her heart tingle.
Heinz knew that he should stop when he noticed that Grace's fair face had turned rosy. He gave her a meaningful look and comforted softly, "Alright, I'll stop now. I know that you get embarrassed easily but silly girl, others would only stare at you since you blush so easily!"
"Where?" Grace asked as she glanced around her uneasily.
Immediately, she spotted some passers-by paying attention to them.
Feeling ashamed and angry, she exclaimed in a low voice, "Heinz!11
"Alright, let's get back to business," Heinz held her hand and turned to the shop assistants, who were watching them nearby. He said with a straight face, "Bring us two sets of identical children's clothes for kids who are around six years old."
"Certainly. Mr. Jones. Please wait for a moment," one of the shop assistants replied politely. He immediately walked over to them and instructed his colleague to get the clothes. "Do you know me?" Heinz asked. He frowned and stared at the shop assistant.
"Everyone knows you, Mr. Jones. You are the President of the Jones Estate and you appear in the newspaper and on the TV," the shop assistant spoke while glancing at Grace. Grace was shocked. She knew that Heinz was famous but she did not expect him to be so renowned.
Heinz was taken aback as well.
Shortly after, the other shop assistant came back with the clothes.
Grace checked the size and thought that the size should be just right. Little Gary had probably inherited Heinz's excellent genes, hence he seemed a little taller than other five-year-olds. Ernest might also have inherited excellent genes and his height was similar to Little Gary's.
After examining the clothes carefully, Grace said to the shop assistant, "This will do. Please pack these up for us."
"Sure, Madam." The shop assistant packed it up swiftly.
The couple waited for a moment.
The shop assistant then asked politely, "Mr. Jones, will you be paying the bill?"
Heinz did not bring his wallet, thus, he could not pay for it.
He was ashamed after being asked such a question by the shop assistant. It was indeed embarrassing for a man to leave home without his wallet.
He would keep that in mind in the future.
Grace smiled and answered, "I'll pay for it. It's a gift for my friend."
Grace thought that she should be the one paying for it.
The shop assistant immediately looked at Grace sympathetically when he heard her. She was dating a man like Heinz but she still had to pay the bills. How sad! Grace was at a loss after being stared at by the shop assistant. Were the shop assistants overthinking?
Heinz felt more embarrassed than ever.
He pursed his lips and checked his watch. It had been ten minutes. When was Alex going to show up?
He was thinking about Alex when a voice shouted from the entrance, "President!"
Heinz instantly turned to look. He spotted Alex, who had finally arrived with Heinz's wallet.
He took his wallet over from Alex and withdrew a black card immediately. He handed it to Grace and explained, "There's no credit limit for this card. Take it."
"What are you doing?" Grace stared at him in surprise and continued, "Why are you giving it to me?"
"For you to shop," Heinz gazed at her calmly and added, "You're my woman. Take it."
A conflicted feeling welled up in Grace's heart.
She suddenly realized that this man valued his ego.
She could not just simply do whatever she wanted to and she needed to consider the man's feelings.
After a brief pause, Grace accepted it and replied, "Thank you."
She handed the card to the shop assistant and instructed, "Well, I'll pay with this card then."
The shop assistant was taken aback too but he immediately replied smilingly, "Certainly!"
Heinz frowned but he was still a little tense. He told Alex, "You should head back. Take good care of the little ones."
"Okay!" Alex replied, "President, I'll carry the shopping bags back to the car."
Heinz picked up the clothes and handed them to Alex. He then instructed, "Bring these back. Tell the butler to wash and dry them for Little Gary and Ernest. They could wear them tomorrow morning." "Noted!" Alex Logan answered respectfully.
"Remember to tell the children that Grace was the one who bought the clothes for them," Heinz added.
Alex was stunned but he immediately nodded and replied, "Yes, sir!"
Grace understood what Heinz meant. She was a little embarrassed and she muttered, "This is your card!"
Heinz smiled and replied, "What's mine is yours."
He held Grace's hand and they soon left the mall.
"Let's go shopping again once your hand recovers. I want to buy you some clothes."
Heinz told Grace as soon as he got into the car.
"You don't have to..."
Grace was shocked as he pressed himself against her before she could finish her sentence.
Heinz's handsome face was very close to hers. He stared at her as a glimmer of light shone in his eyes.
He frowned and growled, "Don't reject me. You respected my wishes in the store today. Well done."
Grace was stunned but she realized that he was talking about the card. She could not help saying, "I didn't want to argue with you in the store. There are only two of us now, so I'll be frank. I don't want the card. I have enough money."
Heinz stared at her. There was an obvious trace of disappointment in his eyes. He parted his lips to ask, "Are you refusing my card because you look down on me?" "Of course not!" Grace immediately shook her head and answered, "I just think that it's better to separate it."
"Are you still angry with me for being rude back then?" Heinz continued to ask.
Grace smiled awkwardly and felt a little embarrassed.
She did recall what he had told her previously about her going after his money.
Heinz immediately understood after noticing Grace's hesitant look.
He sighed and whispered, "Grace, it's my fault. I'm sorry for what I have done back then."
She shook her head and smiled awkwardly. She explained, "It was hurtful when you said those words back then but I'm good now. Still, I think it's better to draw a clear line about these kinds of things."
"Our children are so old now. If you insist on drawing a clear line, then how much should I compensate for missing out on the past five years of our child's life?" Heinz stared into her eyes and retorted softly. Grace was taken aback and she blurted, "I don't need you to compensate."
Furthermore, she had made up her mind to give birth to the child and she had planned to raise him on her own.
She had gone to Hart Villa District to replace him previously because she wanted to give the child a proper home. However, she could not replace him. That made her realize that she needed to face some matters alone and she could not rely on anyone.
She could only count on herself.
"But I'm responsible for you and my child," Heinz looked at her calmly and continued, "I regretted what I did, Grace."
Grace met his gaze and hesitated for a moment. She replied, "Alright, I'll keep the black card with me."
