"Chief Stone took Miss Smith to meet Mr. Lawson?" Lester thought that he had misheard. He could not believe it. "What is Chief Stone doing?"

"How would I know?" replied the bodyguard anxiously. "If I knew what is actually going on, I wouldn't be so anxious as well."

"When did this happen?" Lester also became serious.

"Just now, they have already entered the room," The bodyguard said. "I can only stand outside the door."

"Keep an eye on them." Lester quickly hung up the phone and called Heinz. Soon, Heinz picked up the phone.

"President, Chief Stone has made an appointment with Miss Smith. The bodyguards sent a message saying that Miss Smith is now in Mr. Lawson's ward and was brought there by Chief Stone. I don't know what she wants to do. I do not feel good about this, President."

Heinz was shocked and stunned. He held his cell phone tightly and said in a deep voice, "It's impossible. I just sent her to work. How could she be at the ward?"

"She did go to the ward," Lester said. "The bodyguards called me personally. I'll confirm with her newspaper office."

Heinz said, "I'm going to the ward now. Keep me updated."

"Alright!" Lester called the newspaper office and confirmed that Grace was indeed not there. After all, it was still not time for work yet.

After Heinz got the news, he quickly got into the car and rushed to the hospital.

His heart was in a mess when he thought of Grace's reactions lately.

He was not sure whether Grace knew everything, but this time, she would replace out.

Heinz was furious that Chief Stone had called Grace without informing him.

He didn't expect that his effort in trying to keep everything under control would end up like that.

Maybe he should not have done so much for Uncle Lawson.

He laughed at himself as he floored the gas pedal.

Meanwhile, Grace was at the hospital.

Chief Stone brought Grace into the room. Upon seeing the two people lying on the hospital bed, Grace's heart was still thumping.

She had seen Pearlyn once and she did not look really well that time. She was lying on the left bed and looked weak; she was clearly a patient too.

On the right bed, there was a man who was wearing a hood, and the white gauze was piercing to the eye.

He was very thin and looked particularly old.

From the photo of Jodie in the cemetery, it could be seen that Jodie's appearance was a combination of her parents' looks.

She looked at them and then at Chief Stone, waiting for her to speak.

Chief Stone looked at them and said, "Hey Nathan and Queenie, I brought Grace here for you."

Nathan had no reaction when he saw Grace, but when he heard what Chief Stone said, he immediately looked up at her. His gaze was like a sharp sword, sweeping directly to Grace. Grace's heart tightened. When she looked into Nathan's eyes, she nodded slightly and said politely, "Good day, Mr. and Mrs. Lawson."

"Can I be good just by lying here?" Nathan's voice was full of impatience and anger.

Grace knew that he was in a bad mood, so she smiled and said softly, "It doesn't look good. You will get better if you stay calm." Pearlyn's eyes were also fixed on Grace. When she heard Grace's words and looked at her expression, she did not say anything.

However, Grace knew that she was judging and rating her secretly.

Grace was very calm.

Nathan looked at her, and his eyes were sharp. "Miss Smith, are you Heinz's girlfriend?"

Grace thought for a while.

Nathan immediately said, "Why? Are you afraid to admit it? Does Heinz not allow you to say anything."

Surprisingly, she giggled as if she had heard a big joke. She burst out in natural laughter.

"What are you laughing at?" Nathan raised his voice impatiently.

There was still a faint smile on Grace's face. She opened her mouth and said, "Mr. Lawson, I'm laughing at how difficult it is to deal with a person like you."

Nathan glanced at her and said impatiently, "Don't change the topic. Answer my question."

"You are already lying in the hospital bed, do you think it is necessary to get to the bottom of this? I am Heinz's girlfriend. Don't you know that? I think you know everything. Otherwise, you wouldn't have called me here today."

The few of them were all stunned. Even Chief Stone was stunned. She looked at Grace with a look of surprise in her eyes.

"Heinz can't control me. I know who you are, but he doesn't know that I know," Grace said. "So your hypothesis is wrong."

Nathan's expression was very unsightly, but he didn't want to admit defeat easily. He looked at her properly and raised his chin slightly, looking very proud.

"Did you give birth to Heinz's child?"

"Yes," Grace nodded and said. "He is five years old. What do you want to know? Just ask me directly. Don't bother Heinz anymore and don't prey on his empathy for you."

"Do you know what kind of relationship we have?" Nathan sneered unpleasantly.

"I know," Grace said. "In his heart, you are his former father-in-law."

Nathan was stunned and gritted his teeth.

With a calm tone, she said, "When I met Heinz six years ago, I was drugged. What happened to us was not right; it was an accident, and we never saw each other again after that. I gave birth to a child, and I initially didn't intend to look for the child's father.

I didn't know Heinz was my son's father.

But not long ago, I met Heinz. He looked like my son, so I checked his DNA and confirmed that he was my child's father.

At this moment, he's pursuing me, and we're in love. That's the story."

Nathan's eyes widened as if he had heard a joke.

Queenie was also very surprised. She looked at Nathan and said, "Brother-in-law, you see, this is the reason. It's not Heinz's fault, it's an accident."

"Who knows if she's lying?" Nathan remained stubbornly doubtful. "How would I know if Miss Smith is telling the truth?"

"Is it necessary for me to lie to you?" Grace found it funny, and she didn't know how to react too. "Why would I lie to someone lying in a hospital bed?"

Nathan was stunned and very embarrassed. He couldn't help but retort, "You are a girl. How can you get pregnant without getting married?"

"At first, I was ashamed of that," Grace looked at Nathan and said frankly. "If you feel better after judging me like this, I do not mind. It's not the first time this has happened, I'm used to it!"

"You're thick-skinned," Nathan raised his voice. "Look at yourself now. You're a total scoundrel."

Grace saw that the old man was full of energy. It seemed that he had recovered a lot from his illness.

She was slightly relieved.

It was really hard to deal with him. No wonder Heinz was so tired.

She smiled lightly and said, "Mr. Lawson, I think that no matter how thick-skinned I am, I still can't beat you."
