Old Master Carter really didn't expect this girl to have such a high EQ.

No matter how he mocked her, she was not angry at all. Instead, she was still smiling and was no longer overly courteous.

In the beginning, she was still very respectful.

Why did she became disrespectful as they spoke?

Old Master Carter glanced at her and said unhappily, "Do you think we will not meet again?"

"Since you don't like me, why should we meet again?" Grace said with a smile, "Although I am a little shameless, I don't like being ridiculed, either."

"You were quite respectful to me just now, but now you're getting arrogant," Old Master Carter complained unhappily, his tone rather childish, sounding as if he had been aggrieved.

Grace looked at him helplessly and said, "I didn't know why you came here just now, so I thought you might not ask me to leave. Now, you're basically telling me in my face to leave Heinz. If I still treat you respectfully, wouldn't that be flattering you?"

"What did you say?" Old Master Carter was a little angry.

"I'm just telling the truth," Grace said, "Anyway, I am not the granddaughter-in-law you want, so I don't have to flatter you. I am hungry now, Mr. Carter, if you don't want to eat, I'll help myself first." Grace was really hungry.

Especially when she saw so many dishes served before her, she became hungrier.

She had been busy working the whole morning. Now, she was so hungry that she felt dizzy.

Anyway, since Old Master Carter wouldn't like her no matter what, so she simply didn't care anymore.

Grace picked up her fork and said, "If you don't want to eat, I'll eat first."

"What a glutton!" Old master Carter said angrily, "You're really strange."

Grace nodded, but was not really angry. She said, "Yes, I just love to eat. When you were in the army, didn't you just want to make a living? I've seen your previous interviews and said that you came from a poor family and was not able to provide to your family. Later, you joined the army just for a free meal!"

"You know about my past?" Old Master Carter was shocked.

Grace nodded and said, "I came across it by accident." "Humph!" Old Master Carter snorted.

"Therefore, Mr. Carter, although you might be full now, you still have to let me eat. What's more, I'm still growing. I need to eat well!"

And so, Grace helped herself to the food.

Anyway, his impression of her was subpar anyway. Hence, she didn't care about her superficial reputation.

She picked up her fork and started eating.

When Mr. Carter saw her true personality, he was quite surprised.

He didn't want to show weakness and picked up his spoon. However, he was not hungry.

When Grace saw he was ready to eat, she said, "Have some. It's delicious."

"How could I eat? I'm full from exasperation now!" He put down his spoon again.

Grace took a bite of the food, swallowed it, and said, "Are you really angry?"

"Can't I? Do you have a problem with that?" Old Master Carter said.

"Why bother?" Grace began to eat again. "You have to take care of your own body. Even if you're angry, it doesn't affect me. You'll lose more than you gain in the end." Old Master Carter now truly had a renewed impression of Grace.

This young lady was indeed smart.

Clearly, Old Master Carter would not actually get angry. He was just putting on an act.

He had experienced all kinds of things in his life, and he had never really gotten angry with his grandson, who bickered with him all day long anyway. Hence, he would not be angry this time, either.

However, he still behaved that way and said, "If Heinz knows about your attitude, aren't you afraid that he will be infuriated by you and ask you to leave?"

Grace was stunned for a moment. Then, she smiled and said, "You could tell him. I'm intrigued by what his reaction would be if if he knows that I ridiculed you this way."

"You're trying to use me?" Old Master Carter suddenly came to a realization. "You want to use me to test his feelings to you?"

"That's what you think, I don't care actually." Grace shrugged her shoulders and continued to eat. It seemed that her appetite was really good and she was eating very delightfully. Old Master Carter took a look at the food and suddenly felt like having some too.

He picked up his spoon and took a bite as well.

"It tastes good, doesn't it?" Grace asked with a smile.

"Hmph, it's just ordinary," Old Master Carter said haughtily.

Grace also smiled as if it didn't matter.

"I'm going to tell Heinz the truth and make him know who you really are. You didn't respect his grandfather," Old Master Carter said.

"Just tell him then," Grace added, "I'll pretend that I don't know anything. He is definitely better at ridiculing you than me."

Old Master Carter's eyes widened. "You do know quite a bit about us!"

"No, I just know Heinz well," Grace said, "He is an insufferably arrogant person!"

And Old Master Carter also seemed to be the same. If the grandfather and grandson were together, they would be quite sharp-tongued! This was very obvious!

Hearing Grace's words, Old Master Carter really agreed with her.

He nodded, "Indeed, Heinz is an insufferably arrogant brat."

Grace was startled. She chuckled, "Hence, you admit that he really likes to ridicule you?"

"I didn't say that," Old Master Carter immediately denied. "Girl, how dare you trick me?"

"Obviously! Do I need to coax you to tell the truth?"

"Humph, I know what you're thinking." Old Master Carter said, "Let me tell you, I'm not going to be fooled."

Grace snorted with laughter.

This old man was really interesting, and he was so self-righteous.

Grace ate quietly. Since there was nothing to say, it was better to eat.

She quickly finished a bowl of pasta.

Then, she asked for another bowl of pasta.

"How could you eat so much?" The old man had been watching her. The food was too delicious. It was enough for an ordinary girl to eat a serving for pasta, but yet Grace wanted to eat a second bowl. Grace was really hungry today, hence, she didn't care about her image anymore.

Anyway, no matter how hard she tried to maintain it, it would not meet his requirements. Therefore, she decided to let go of it directly.

'TH pay for it later," Grace said, "You don't have to feel sorry for me. I'll eat my own food."

"You'll become a chubby little pig if you continue to eat like this," Old Master Carter said, "Since I ask you out, I'll treat you."

"You have to think it through! This little pig is in a relationship with your grandson!" reminded Grace.

If Grace were an animal. What was Heinz then?

What would Old Master Carter be then?

Old Master Carter discovered Grace was indeed open-minded and clever. She wasn't impatient nor anxious at all.

His gaze became gentle involuntarily. Perhaps even he himself did not know that.

"Don't waste your time on me," Old Master Carter said in a low voice, "It won't be that easy for you to become part of the Jones family."

"I don't want to be a part of the Jones family," Grace said, "Perhaps I should get Heinz join my family instead!"

Old Master Carter was stunned. He widened his eyes and said, "Nonsense!"

Looking at the elderly man's shocked expression, Grace smiled and said indifferently, "I really don't mind if he becomes a matrilocal son-in-law instead!"
