At the dinner table.

Old Master Carter and the two little fellows had already taken their seats. The table was full of dishes and all the food looked very sumptuous.

William didn't pick up his spoon, and neither did the little ones.

Everyone was waiting for Grace and Heinz.

The butler stepped forward and asked in a low voice, "Are you going to drink today, Chief?"

"Of course," Old Master Carter said. "This is a great day, of course we have to drink. Are there any yogurt drinks or some fruit juice? Please give the children some."

"Yes, I've prepared it. We have freshly pressed kiwi juice," the butler said.

"Please give it to them," said Old Master Carter.

"Yes, Sir!" The butler quickly served the drinks.

The butler set the wine and juice on the table.

It was only then that Heinz arrived with Grace.

"I'm sorry," Grace apologized. "Sorry to keep you waiting, Mr. Carter."

"It's fine," Old Master Carter didn't seem to mind at all. "Hurry and sit down. Let's have dinner."

"Yes!" Grace said.

Heinz pulled out a chair for Grace.

Then, all of them were seated at the table.

Old Master Carter looked at Grace and asked, "Grace, do you drink?"

Grace was startled by his question. She answered, saying, "I do drink a little, but I'm on medication now so I can't drink."

"Medication?" Old Master Carter was taken aback. He asked, "What's wrong?"

Grace felt really embarrassed to tell Old Master Carter the details.

However, in her hesitation, Heinz had already spoken up for her, "Grandpa, Grace's body has not recovered from bearing Little Gary. She is in the process of recuperating and recovering, so that we can give Ernest and Little Gary another sibling."

Old Master Carter was taken aback. He asked, "When are you planning to hold the wedding?"

Heinz said, "That depends on Grace. I just hope we can do it earlier."

Grace was stunned.

Old Master Carter's brow furrowed as he turned to look at Grace. "Grace, what other concerns do you have?"

Grace really didn't expect that he would mention the wedding at that moment.

She hadn't thought that far yet.

Seeing that Grace was silent, Old Master Carter's brow furrowed even more tightly.

Heinz also looked at Grace, with a touch of worry in his eyes. "Has Grace never thought of marrying me?"

He wondered.

Was hethat terrible?

The two little fellows raised their eyes and looked at Grace; they were looking forward to Grace's answer.

Since everyone was looking at her, she said, "Mr. Carter, Heinz and I haven't known each other for long. Although we have a child, I think we need to get to know each other better. The wedding is not important. All I'm hoping for is a happy future together."

Old Master Carter froze for a second. He looked at Heinz with disdain and said, "Well, it's the first time someone dislikes my grandson so much."

Grace felt a little awkward.

It was not that she disliked him; she was just a very rational person.

Marriage was not child's play, after all. Besides, Heinz hadn't seriously discussed marriage with her.

Heinz was embarrassed. Looking at Grace, he felt ashamed.

He did not say anything, but just lowered his eyes to hide the disappointment in his eyes.

He was a little disheartened.

He thought that at the very least, Grace would want to marry him. However, it seemed that what he had done was not enough for him to be accepted and trusted by her.

He picked up the wine bottle, poured Old Master Carter and himself a glass of wine each. Only then did he pick it up and say, "Grandpa, let's drink."

The old man harrumphed when he saw his expression. "Look at that cowardly expression of yours. Never had I imagined this day would come, kid." Heinz smiled bitterly, but he did not respond.

Tilting his head back, he downed the entire glass of wine.

It was gone in a flash

The wine was strong.

Perhaps he had drunk too fast, but he immediately began to cough.

Grace looked at Heinz worriedly.

Old Master Carter took a quick glance at her, he picked up his glass, took a sip and said, "Grace, let's eat. Have some food, you two little fellows."

"Yes!" Grace nodded. She took some food for Ernest and Little Gary.

She took care of the two children first.

After coughing for a while, Heinz stopped. He didn't move nor did he say anything.

However, the mood in the room became a little subdued.

Old Master Carter's sharp gaze swept over the two of them as his gaze shifted back and forth between their faces.

"Marriage is the ultimate destination of love," Old Master Carter said. "It's right to be cautious. Every woman should be. It's indeed very risky for a woman to get married hastily." Heinz poured himself another glass of wine and drank it all.

"Don't drink too much, Heinz," Grace said after a while.

Heinz didn't say anything. He picked up his spoon and started to eat.

Ernest was also worried that Heinz had drunk too much. Being a smart child, he asked, "Dad, this is delicious. Why don't you try it?"

Heinz nodded and said, "Alright, Ernest."

Grace realized that he was angry.

He was upset because she said that she hadn't thought about marriage.

However, she did not feel that she was wrong.

After all, she was careful and rational. She was responsible for herself and her life.

However, Heinz looked angry.

There was a touch of worry in her eyes.

Old Master Carter said to her, "Grace, have some food."

"Thank you, Mr. Carter," Grace said.

Her way of addressing him was difficult for Heinz to digest.

Heinz frowned.

She didn't seem to care about Jodie's parents, Claris, their potential marriage or any of that. She even called his grandfather "Mr. Carter" instead of "Grandpa". Connecting the dots, Heinz downed another glass of wine. Suddenly, he felt a little uncomfortable as the strong alcohol circulated through his body.

That resentful emotion was fermenting in the bottom of his heart, which made Heinz annoyed.

His handsome face was a little red from drinking two glasses of wine in a row.

However, he felt a little better after drinking the strong alcohol. His mind was in a mess, and he didn't seem to be so depressed.

He knew that Grace was looking at him, but he couldn't help feeling a little upset. He poured another glass of wine for himself and drank it.

"Stop drinking," Grace said in a low voice.

Old Master Carter said, "Grace, don't try to persuade him. He has suffered a blow from you. Any man would be sad because of this." Grace's heart skipped a beat.

"Grandpa," Heinz said in a deep voice, "Can you drink and stop talking?"

Old Master Carter shrugged his shoulders and looked at his grandson. He didn't seem to feel any pity for his grandson at all. He seemed to be revelling in his misfortune.

Grace felt a little awkward.

The Old Master looked at her with a faint smile.

She felt extremely uncomfortable having that meal.

Heinz drank a bottle and a half of wine.

Old Master Carter, on the other hand, only had a small glass, which was equivalent to no more than a quarter of the bottle.

By the time the meal was over, Heinz was unmoving in his chair. He looked around lazily, squinting his eyes as he looked at Grace.

Alcohol was indeed incredible. After ingesting so much wine, he began to sway, and everyone in his vision swayed with him.

Old Master Carter suggested, "Why don't you guys stay?"

"No thanks," Little Gary said instantly. "Tonight, we've seen enough of Heinz's temper. I'll bring my Mommy away first. Heinz can stay here."
