She wasn't her father's child?

Grace felt her heart clench.

"What do you mean?" She glared at Marry coldly. "Are you saying that I'm an illegitimate child?"

"Yes," Marry replied firmly, "You are an illegitimate child."

"How is this possible?" Grace's expression fell.

She took a step back and leaned against the wall, her eyes filled with sad realization. Marry looked at her. "Do you think I'm lying?"

Grace remained quiet.

Marry smiled bitterly. "Now that I've been brought here, and got treated that way by Simon, I've lost all of my fantasies and consideration for all of you. I'm not afraid to burn bridges now. What else do I have to lose? Ask me anything. I'll tell you the answer."

Marry looked at Grace and suddenly realized something.

The cat was finally out of the bag.

Scenes from the past flashed one after another in front of her eyes. The things that she had done together with Simon had finally been revealed. They were no doubt a dark past for all of them, including Grace. She laughed mockingly and said, "You are an illegitimate child. You are not my father's child."

"When I was born, you were only three years old. What do you know?" Grace shot Marry with a glare. "Even now, you would still make up false rumors to slander us. Marry, don't you think that you've done enough?"

"Slander you?" Marry chuckled. "Grace, think about it. Why did your mother run away from home and go missing all of a sudden? You can't deny it. When your mother left, father was so angry that he fell ill. But still, she left, didn't she?"

Grace considered her mother dead.

She knew the reason behind her mother's brief departure. Her mother had fallen out of love with her father, and she was a woman who prioritized love, so she left.

In a nicer way, she had run away from home. However, to put it bluntly, she had eloped with someone else.

Grace didn't have any strong feelings for her biological mother. However, the fond memories she had was with her grandmother. Her grandmother's love was the most precious to her.

"It was because Father had found out about your true identity," Marry continued. "They were constantly arguing about it. I've heard it myself, that you're not my father's daughter, but Alice is. However, your mother had cheated on Father while still pretending to be a good person. It was infuriating.

Grace frowned. How was this possible?

"I know you won't believe it," Marry sneered. "But at this point, I have no need to lie to you anymore. Why didn't I give Sunny Group to you or Alice? Because Alice was too young. As for you, it was because of your mother. My father had died too soon because of her."

"You are talking nonsense," Grace frowned.

"I'm telling the truth," Marry said in a low voice. "Your mother cheated on Father, and Father was so furious that he fell ill. Your mother still left with another man even when Father was hospitalized. She was a b*tch who did whatever she wanted to."

"Shut up!" Grace lashed out angrily.

"You don't want to hear the truth? Then leave," Marry replied calmly.

"You're talking nonsense," Grace retorted, seething in anger.

"I'm not. You can ask Simon yourself. Your mother came back three years ago to see Simon."

What?

Grace's eyes widened in shock.

Marry looked at her and smiled. "It's up to you whether you want to believe it or not. I don't care anymore. I've told you everything. You're not my father's daughter. It is luck that the Smith Family took care of you, but you don't have the rights to inherit Sunny Group. Alice, on the other hand, is my father's daughter."

All of a sudden, Grace felt as if her mind had exploded.

Grace felt as if her whole world was spinning.

If Marry's words were true, was she truly not a member of the Smith Family?

Then who on earth was she?

"I apologize for what happened between Simon and the child." Marry said. "I apologize to you. The past can't be corrected, and I know you won't let me go either. Forget it. I won't ask you for forgiveness. Do whatever you want."

She closed her eyes, sat down on the ground, and curled her legs inwards. She didn't even care if she was wearing a dress; she just stared at Grace in despair.

She had truly resigned to fate.

Grace frowned as she watched Marry. After some time, she asked, "Did my mother come back three years ago?"

"Of course," Marry said. "I have no reason to lie to you anymore. It's up to you whether you believe it or not."

"Then according to what you said, who is my father?"

Marry paused, and shook her head. "I don't know. Your mother didn't even mention it when she was arguing."

"There's no clue. Do you think I'll believe you?" Grace tilted her head to the side.

"It's up to you whether you want to believe it or not," Marry said, "Anyway, you are not from the Smith Family, and Simon knows about it too."

"How would I know that you didn't lie to me?" Grace pressed on.

Grace no longer trusted Marry anymore, and she didn't even care about her true identity.

"You can ask Simon." Marry looked at her.

"That's not important," Grace replied, "Tell me, where did you send my son back then?"

"H-haven't you found him?" Marry was surprised. "Didn't Heinz say that he found your son?" Grace wanted to replace out what had happened at that time.

"I asked you a question." Grace stared at her.

Marry paused again and met her gaze. She asked, "Haven't you found that other child of yours?"

"Who did you give the child to back then?" Grace questioned angrily, "Answer me!"

"A human trafficker," Marry replied. "I haven't contacted him for a long time, since it was some random stranger. I only had one reason to give him the child and that was so that you'll never replace him ever again." Grace was enraged at her words; her entire body was trembling in anger.

Marry had gone too far.

"I wanted you to never be able to see your child, and I wanted you to feel apologetic. However, I didn't expect you to come back so soon, and neither did I expect that you would be pregnant with Heinz's child,"1 Marry continued.

"What's more, I didn't expect you to be together with Heinz. Both of you are so loving. I'm so jealous of you."

"But I also understood that this was my karma."

"Compared to your happy life, both Simon and I deserve our miserable lives now."

"You totally deserve it. You don't deserve to be happy. Even if you hate me, Alice was still so young, yet you still managed to hurt her. Are you even human?" Grace glared at her.

"Humanity... it's hard to say." Marry smiled at herself mockingly, "Even if I know that I was wrong, I can't promise you that I wouldn't do it again if time could turn back."

Grace frowned.

She still had the nerve to say that.

"I hate you. You took away my father, the boy that I liked, and managed to make him think about you to this day. You are so lucky."
