Although Zachary had made up his mind, Grace was still worried. She was used to thinking about problems from all aspects, from the cause to the results. She was especially more anxious because her grandmother's ashes were involved in this matter.

Although Heinz and Zachary had joined forces, it was very difficult for them to challenge a stubborn old man's mindset.

"Mommy, Aunt Nerissa gave us this." Little Gary held a huge envelope in his hand. "Can we accept it?"

Ernest held the same envelope in his hands.

The two children didn't dare to take it, thus they came to ask Grace.

Grace saw the envelopes and she immediately felt embarrassed, "Aunt, this is too expensive."

"It's okay." Nerissa thought that it was not a big deal. "The children are here for the first time. Of course, I have to express my appreciation as their aunt."

"But I didn't..." Grace said awkwardly. Before she could finish her words, Heinz interrupted her.

"Grace, the gift you've prepared for Aunt Nerissa is still in the car," Heinz said from her side.

Grace was dumbfounded instantly.

Heinz looked at her, smiled, and said to Little Gary and Ernest, "Little Gary, Ernest, you can accept the

gift from Aunt Nerissa."

'Alas, you guys are being too polite," Nerissa said with a smile. "Don't be so polite in the future. This is your own home. Make yourself at home."

"You are welcome, Aunt." Heinz said, "Grace told me to prepare a gift for you."

Heinz said this to make Grace feel less embarrassed.

Aunt Nerissa smiled kindly.

Grace was very surprised. She looked up at Heinz, with doubts in her eyes. He actually prepared a gift, which was very thoughtful. Heinz winked at her.

Grace quickly turned away and didn't want to look fazed by his ogling behavior.

"Let's sit down and have dinner." Nerissa said, "You must be hungry after the long journey, aren't you?"

"It's fine. I'm not very hungry, Aunt," Heinz called her Aunt naturally.

Grace sat down, but her heart was still in her mouth.

She didn't know if they could finish this meal before Master Maxim came.

As expected, her worries came true.

Halfway through dinner, the butler came to report, "Madam Nerissa, Young Master."

He scanned for their reaction and didn't speak directly.

Zachary stood up and walked outside.

The butler whispered a few words in his ear. Nobody knew what they were whispering about.

Zachary frowned and looked gloomy.

Grace looked at Heinz worriedly but he was not anxious at all. He was very calm.

Zachary returned and sat down. Everyone turned to look at him.

He was also very calm and said, "Let's continue eating. It's nothing."

Nerissa was also slightly relieved. "Let's eat, Well rest after eating."

"Young Master, we can't hold on any longer." The butler shouted in a hurry, and then someone pushed him. He fell to the ground.

Zachary frowned, and glanced at the door with sharp eyes.

A walking stick entered the door, and the next second, a foot came in.

They all looked in the direction of the door and saw a white-bearded old man walking in. The cane he was holding seemed to be really valuable.

The old man had a crew cut and his hair and beard were all white. He did not have a single black hair or beard.

His skin looked slightly tanned, and the wrinkles between his brows were very clear. Perhaps, it was because he had knitted it for many years. Maxim Lowe had an old-looking face as time had left him many wrinkles.

His lips were also used to being pursed tightly. Perhaps, it was because of this habit that caused

his aging. The corners of his lips drooped lowly.

His sharp eyes pierced like a goshawk. As soon as he came in, he glanced over everyone present. Finally, his eyes fell on Grace and Alice.

He stared for a few seconds and he turned back to look at Nerissa's face.

The old man didn't say anything, but he lifted his cane and slammed it hard on the ground, making a loud noise.

Thump!

Grace was surprised and frowned.

Then, Nerissa immediately stood up and asked, "Dad, why are you here?"

The old man remained unmoved. He stood there, looked at the surroundings, and said in a deep voice, "Why can't I come?"

"I didn't mean that." Nerissa quickly came up and said, "Of course, you are welcome."

"You didn't accept my invitation. Hence, I have to visit you myself, don't I?" Master Lowe said in a very unpleasant tone. He did not look at Nerissa but he looked at Zachary.

Zachary stood up, looked at the old man, and said lightly, "Grandpa."

"Don't call me Grandpa," Master Lowe snapped.

Zachary pursed his lips and said, "Since I can't call you Grandpa, please leave."

Thump!

He hit his cane onto the ground again.

Nerissa quickly said, "Dad, Zachary is still young and impulsive. Please don't take it to heart."

"You have a good son." Master Lowe vented his anger on Nerissa. He sneered at her, "It seems like I can't do anything to stop him. He thinks he can do whatever he wants. Who does he think he is?" "Dad, Dad, calm down." Nerissa was still good-tempered.

Zachary frowned slightly. His eyes were cold and there was no sign of emotions.

Zachary didn't seem to have any intentions of backing down.

When Maxim noticed the situation, he immediately stomped the floor with his cane again.

A loud bang could be heard.

It seemed that Nerissa was used to these, thus she could only smile.

Grace realized that Master Lowe's temper was very bad, and he was used to having everybody obey him. He was worshiped by others, and everyone went along with him.

"Zachary." Nerissa could not disobey her father. Hence, she said to her son, "Hurry up and help your grandfather over. Let's sit down and have a meal together."

"There's no need." Master Lowe said angrily, "Who said I'm having a meal with you guys?"

"Mom, you don't have to impress anyone." Zachary said in a low voice, "We don't need to rely on anyone else. These past few years, we only have others who feel sorry for us. We don't feel sorry for anyone. It's okay as long as we have a clear conscience. We don't have to cater to anyone."

Nerissa's face stiffened as she was a little embarrassed. "Zachary."

Zachary froze.

Alice noticed the situation and immediately walked towards Nerissa. "Aunt Nerissa, let's go. We are still eating. Since this old gentleman is not hungry, we don't have to pretend to be polite. We are hungry even though he's not. If he wants to eat, then eat. If he doesn't want to eat, then forget it."

Nerissa wanted to say something but Alice had already held her hand and walked towards the table.

"Rebels!" Master Lowe roared angrily as he smashed his cane against the floor once more.

Alice had never seen such a domineering old man. Moreover, when she recalled how much her grandmother had been through in the past few years, Alice's temper soared.

After she sat Nerissa down, she turned her head and roared at the old man, "Who are you? How dare you behave atrociously here? Just because you are an elder, doesn't mean that everyone is willing to pay attention to you. Who do you think you are? You think that we have to spoil you, don't you?"
