True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 597
Grace knew that Heinz wouldn't have done this in advance without a reason. He was comforting himself.
He was afraid that he would regret it in the future.
Grace knew that she should not act out of her anger at that moment.
Her rationality was telling her that she should not be swept away by emotions. Instead, she must think about her grandmother's soul in heaven.
Grace was growing slightly impatient when she did not get a reply from Heinz after a long silence. "Do you mean that? Asking me to agree to his request."
"I only feel that this may be your grandmother's wishes," Heinz replied. "I am telling you this because I am not sure about that."
He had actually thought that it would be better to tell Grace the truth after careful consideration.
If he concealed it, Grace may only feel regrets when she would learn about it in the future.
"He really is a cunning old man." Grace frowned and continued, "He knew that I would not agree even if he had asked my cousin. Instead, he asked you to come and convince me and my cousin, so as to achieve his purpose.
"Even if that is the case, he does not have much time left. He was left with no other choice." Heinz voiced out his thoughts.
Grace nodded and agreed, "Your words are reasonable and I can completely understand that as well. After all, Grandma did not remarry and had chosen to remain single for 50 years. It was either that she still has feelings for him, or that she was just utterly disappointed with men."
"What about you?" Heinz suddenly asked, "Would you choose to be single if you were utterly disappointed with men?"
"If it was me." Grace pondered for a while before answering, "If you hurt me this way, I would probably either replace another man who loves me and get married, or be single for the rest of my life." Heinz felt slightly panicked when he heard her words.
He hurriedly said, "Don't worry, I won't give you such a chance. Don't even think about it."
A mixture of emotions welled up in Heinz's heart. He could not describe the sense of uneasiness that he was feeling.
Grace also looked at him and asked, "Will you ever hurt me the same way?"
"Of course not." Heinz blurted out, "I would be an assh*le if I ever hurt you this way."
"You see, even you think that he had done something morally wrong too." She spread her hands out and asked, "How can my grandmother be buried in the same urn with such a person?" Heinz replied, "I heard that the custom here is that women are not buried with their husbands because it is bad for the afterlife. Even though we do not believe this, we cannot say anything about it at all." "Furthermore, the old master has already decided to move your uncle out so that the three of them can be buried together."
"If this is not grandmother's wish, then I believe it must be your uncle's wish."
"Your uncle had never really enjoyed spending his time with his parents. He must have hoped that his parents would be by his side."
"To be buried together might be the best choice for him now since it is impossible to turn back time."
"I think that Grandma would feel that she owed uncle a lot too. She would have felt apologetic toward her son when she was still alive. I believe that she would also agree for the sake of her son, no matter how reluctant she was."
"I only promised the old master that I will convey his words to you, but you still need to discuss this with Zachary and come to a decision."
Grace's breathing had suddenly grown a little rapid after hearing Heinz's words.
She looked at him in a daze, only to replace that he was staring at her as well. She felt a surge of emotions well up in her heart.
Grandma owed her uncle.
That was true.
The old master had done Grandma wrong. After she left, he had not treated Uncle well too.
This was an indisputable fact.
Logically, Heinz had perfectly analyzed everything.
"So after weighing the pros and cons, I feel that it's better to let all of you know."
Grace's heart had skipped a beat. She stared at Heinz and could not speak for a long time.
The silence was deafening.
Traces of despair had silently appeared on Grace's face.
Were they going to compromise like this?
However, she could not replace any other reason to deny it any longer.
Grace met Heinz's gaze; his eyes were filled with understanding.
She knew very well that Heinz had been very thoughtful.
Grace lowered her head and closed her eyes, feeling a little down.
What could she do for Grandma?
She suddenly realized that there was nothing she could do. What could she possibly ask for when she had been absent most of the time.
"I know that you are upset. I think I can also understand your grandmother's frustration. If it was me, I would like to be with my son too," Heinz remarked.
Grace raised her head and looked at Heinz.
Their eyes met.
"Do you really think so?"
There was obvious pity in Heinz's eyes. "I am a father. My love for my children is probably not as deep as a mother's, so I really think that
Grandma would also hope to be with her son."
For a moment, Grace fell speechless.
She did not know what to say or how to make a decision.
Heinz naturally understood her.
"Let's do it this way." He continued, "Let your cousin make the decision. I believe that Zachary would feel as tormented as you do now."
Grace nodded.
Just then, Gary's comforting voice can be heard from the outside. "Little Aunt, please don't cry. There is nothing to cry about."
She instantly came to her senses and walked out subconsciously.
Alice was seen wiping away her tears outside.
Gary and Ernest were both comforting her. "Don't cry, Little Aunt, don't cry."
"Grandma and Uncle had really hard lives," Alice muttered. "My sister and I also had a hard life."
Grace and Heinz exchanged glances with each other as they could both understand Alice.
"Grace, Heinz, what do you think?" Alice looked up at them and asked, "Is it really necessary for Grandma to be buried with the old master? He is a man who had hurt her."
"Do you think the same, too?" Looking at Alice, Grace replied, "I also think so, but Heinz said that maybe Grandma would like to be with Uncle. I believe that no mother could refuse her child. Not to mention a child whom she has wronged for so many years.
Dazed, Alice wiped her tears and replied, "It's not a bad thing to be buried with him too."
Grace paused upon hearing her words.
Heinz had understood Alice's thoughts instantly.
Grace was able to understand Alice's words very quickly as well.
"My uncle and aunt are always being bullied by the three elders of the Lowe family. They are too arrogant. Now that they are old, the old master has insisted on being together with Grandma and Uncle. He even moved them out. This could be a slap in their faces."
Heinz narrowed his eyes as he commented, "Alice, you are a pretty straightforward person."
"Heinz, we should not forget all the sufferings that Grandma had gone through over the years just because of our own selfish desires."
"I believe that Grandma would be willing to do that for her son," Heinz repeated his words once again.
"Knock knock."
There was a knock on the door as they were speaking.
"Please come in!" Heinz said in a deep voice.
The door opened and Zachary was seen standing at the entrance. Following behind him was a tall figure.
Grace was surprised. That was Jensen!
"Jensen, why are you here?" Heinz immediately asked.
