True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 608
"No!" Jensen immediately shouted, "Alice, I can't live without you. You can't do this."
"You have helped me to get out of the shadows of my past," Alice said lightly, but she still did not look at Jensen's face. Then she added, "Thank you for approaching me in this way, to deceive me in this way and to take responsibility in this way too. You are a good person, but I don't need you anymore."
"Alice!" Jensen felt that his heart was about to break.
He felt suffocated, his heart shattered to bits.
"We're together now. I am me, and you are you. We belong to each other only. Isn't that a good thing?"
He didn't understand why things would turn out like this after she knew everything.
"This is a very good thing." Alice was still very calm, void of any expression on her face. She said, "I am very glad that I only belong to you. You made me feel that I am not broken and that I wouldn't simply take anyone to be my boyfriend."
Jensen's heart clenched even more.
His heart ached so much.
Looking at the girl in front of him, he felt an unspeakable pain in his heart.
Alice then said, "I should actually thank you."
Jensen panicked. "Don't say that."
Alice turned around, about to leave.
Jensen grabbed her hand and held her wrist tightly.
Alice said softly, "Let go of me."
Jensen shook his head and said, "No!"
Alice's eyes hardened.
Jensen panicked.
He looked at her and he was very panicked inside. He was afraid that once he let go, he would be doomed so he couldn't let go.
Six years ago, he'd made a mistake. He did not replace her right away. Six years later, if he let go of her again, then he would really lose her. He was terrified.
He absolutely couldn't let go of her, as he couldn't cut off his feelings.
Alice said with a cold voice, "Let me go. If you don't, I will hate you."
At that moment, she did not hate him; her feelings were just a jumbled mess. She felt as if everything seemed to have come to an end and all she had to do was move forward, to leave this trauma behind. However, if he didn't let her go, then she would really hate him.
Jensen was shocked by the indifference in her words.
"Alice, I can't let you go." Jensen then said with restraint, "Listen to me. You can blame me or even scold me but we are going to go on. I won't let go of you. I will protect you forever."
Alice answered coldly, "There's no need."
Jensen still refused to let go.
Alice trembled slightly, feeling a little suffocated. It was as if there was a big stone pressing down on her chest.
It was as if she had returned to the scene six years ago in a flash. She could no longer share this kind of feeling with others.
Jensen still refused to let go but Alice suddenly broke away from him. She quickly ran into the house and closed the door inside.
Jensen's hands were empty; his heart was equally hollow, if not more so.
He looked up in dismay and looked at the tightly shut door. His eyes were red.
Alice's back rested against the door. At that moment, her tears were surging down and her cheeks were damp.
Her heart was in great pain. It hurt.
As she trembled, Alice dragged her heavy body to the bed and threw herself onto it.
Her tears rolled down like pearls from a broken necklace. She held the pillow tightly and buried her face in it, choking while trembling. Jensen was at a loss, not knowing what to do.
He rumpled his hair and his whole head was a mess. He felt very uneasy so he walked in circles in the room.
What happened inside could not be heard when the door was closed, which made him even more flustered.
He was afraid that Alice would take things too hard, so he could only run and pound on the door.
"Knock knock knock."
The sound of knuckles slamming against wood could still be heard.
However, Alice wasn't paying any attention to him.
The only thing she wanted to do was cry to her heart's content and let go of all her grief though it.
Jensen still couldn't open the door so he could only try the handle of the door.
However, he wasn't able to twist it open.
He couldn't hear any response and his heart was in complete panic. An impulse rose in his mind and he suddenly exerted a lot of force, ramming against the door. Inside the room, Alice's heart leaped in fright.
She froze on the bed and paused. She saw that Jensen was slamming his body against the door and that the door was shaking.
She got up quickly. Regardless of her tearful face, she quickly walked to the door and opened it.
Jensen was shocked.
He was supposed to jump up and bang against the door, but he suddenly fell to the ground.
He fell down in front of Alice.
Then, he raised his eyes to look at herself.
Looking at her tearful face, he felt his heart tighten. He disregarded himself falling down, then he quickly got up, looked at Alice and said softly, "I thought, I thought that since you wouldn't open the door, you would take things too hard. I was afraid."
"You can go now," Alice said with a choked voice. "I won't do anything absurd. I wouldn't want my sister to be sad. I also have to help my sister to raise my nephews. My grandmother hasn't been buried yet. I won't take things too hard."
Hearing Alice's words, Jensen relaxed slightly, but seeing her red eyes, he froze.
His body was stiff and his expression was conflicted as he looked away solemnly. He did not even dare to look at Alice's current state.
He had seen Alice duel with someone else and seen her being threatened, but she was never afraid. However, when he saw her tears and saw the fragility radiating off her back, he suddenly thought of her six years ago. She must have also been like this too, hiding herself to cry.
Such a little girl had encountered a man's brutal treatment and the pain that should not have been borne by her at that kind of age.
She must have been scared to death.
Thinking of this, Jensen told himself even more that he could not leave Alice behind or let her go. He had to protect her.
He unconsciously reached out his hand and wanted to wipe away the tears on her face.
However, Alice turned her face away and avoided Jensen's touch.
With just one movement, it was as if they were at the border of two opposing powers.
His eyes narrowed violently. Looking at the woman in front of him, his heart suddenly collapsed.
Jensen asked softly, "What do you want so that you won't be angry?"
Alice replied plainly, "I'm not angry."
In fact, this wasn't something to be angry about. She just felt that he didn't have to take responsibility. He caught himself up in order to take responsibility. That wasn't love.
"Then, what can I do so that you won't cry anymore?"
"After I cry and calm down, I'll be fine tomorrow."
"Alice! Can you not treat me like this?" He suddenly shouted.
Alice remained silent.
"Fine, you think about it." Jensen could only say, "You should have some quiet time for a night. As long as you promise me that you won't do anything silly. I will be outside and I will not disturb you, but if you have something to tell me, you can tell me."
Alice nodded. "Okay."
Hearing her answer, Jensen also nodded. "Then I'll leave."
"Yes."
Perhaps, giving Alice some time alone would be the best option for now. Yes, this was the time he had to give her some space.
He turned around and walked out, closing the door behind him.
"Ah!"
After coming out, Jensen sighed.
He was agitated and wanted to smoke.
