True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 643
After Grace finished shopping for clothes with Alice, she got a call from Jensen when they walked out of the mall.
She picked up. "Hello, Officer Charm?"
"Grace, I'm sorry." Jensen apologized and said, "Did my mother say a lot of unpleasant things today? I apologize to you."
Grace smiled and said, "What your mother said was not very nice, but I wasn't polite either. I've told your mother that if she doesn't want Alice to marry you, and you still have feelings for each other, the Smith family do not mind if you marry Alice."
Jensen was obviously stunned. "I won't have any relationship problems with Alice. As for where we live, we can discuss that. In short, I won't let her live with my mom."
"You'd better remember what you said today." Grace didn't beat around the bush and said bluntly, "When love is strong, one would pledge anything. However, once the relationship is stable and there is only family affection left, maybe one wouldn't be so serious anymore."
"Don't worry." Jensen said, "Is Alice okay?"
"She didn't dare to say a word. Alice tried to please your mother, but she was disgusted." Grace said, "I've never seen my sister so well-behaved before. She's so well-behaved that it made me feel sorry for her."
Jensen was startled. His heart skipped a beat and he was very uncomfortable.
"I'm going to see Alice after I finish work. Can you help me comfort her?"
"Okay."
After hanging up the phone, Grace said to Alice, "It's Jensen who called."
"I guessed that." Alice said, "Grace, did his mother complain to him?"
"It must be." Grace nodded. "But Jensen knows what his mother is like. Anyway, I'm the one who was rude today. If I really have to put it on the table, she also did suffer."
"Grace, can I do this in the future too?"
"Of course." Grace said, "Where was your enthusiasm towards Heinz before?"
Alice was stunned but she felt a little embarrassed and said, "I can be rude for your sake, but when it's for myself, I'm always worried that Jensen's mother will get angry and it's not appropriate for me to do so." "Even if you're obsequious, she's still angry, isn't she?" Grace asked back. "Have you ever meant anything to her? She doesn't like you anyway. Why don't you do the opposite?"
"Do the opposite?" Alice was stunned and nodded. "What you said makes sense. I shouldn't be too well-behaved."
"Real kindness is when you protect yourself while respecting other people at the same time. If you can't protect yourself, how can you talk about kindness?"
"I understand." Alice was taught a lesson this time.
When they went back, it was already three o'clock in the afternoon.
Heinz was not at home.
Grace took a bath. After she washed the clothes and ironed them, the children came back.
She read books to the children and Heinz came back at dinner time.
He said to Grace, "Did you meet Jensen's mother when you were shopping today?"
"You know all about it?" Grace asked in surprise, "Did Jensen ask you?"
"It just so happened that I was looking for him and he was in the hospital." Heinz said, "Aunt Brooks was admitted to the hospital again."
Grace was taken aback. "Was it because of me?" "Jensen said that his mother didn't take advantage of you when she was with you. When she was with him, she also didn't take advantage of him. So, she got angry and her high blood pressure relapsed." Heinz said, "I wanted to go and see her, but Jensen didn't let me. I didn't have time to go anyway, so I didn't go."
"She is in poor health. It seems like what I said was too harsh and made her very angry." Grace said helplessly, "But today, I have really experienced a situation where this woman was impossible to get along with. It was simply indescribable."
"It's just a facade." Heinz said, "You don't have to lower yourself to her level. Aunt Brooks was just putting on a show and she is not as bad as you think. Maybe your personalities clashed and something went wrong."
"Why don't you go and have a look?" Grace said, "After all, I've said something and I won't be able to bear it."
"You really want me to go?"
"Yes, you can go and have a look." Grace was still worried.
"Okay, I'll go over after dinner."
At 7:30 p.m.
Heinz drove to the hospital.
He brought a flower basket with him. Jensen was smoking outside. When he saw Heinz coming, he was very surprised. "Didn't I tell you not to come? Why are you here?"
"Grace was worried and she asked me to come here." Heinz said, "Let's go. I'll go in and have a word with Aunt Brooks. I want to see if there's anything that Aunt Brooks can't figure out." "Okay." Jensen said, "But I advise you not to say anything. Whatever you say, my mother's temper would be the same. She just doesn't like Alice. No one can do anything about it."
"I don't believe it. Let's go and have a look." Heinz and Jensen quickly pushed the door open and went in.
Rosalie was lying on the hospital bed. When she saw Heinz, she was very surprised.
"Heinz, why are you here?"
"Aunt Brooks, I'm here to see you." Heinz walked over and smiled faintly. He took a stool to the side of the bed and said to Rosalie, "Aunt Brooks, you don't look well now. You can't be too emotional." "Alas!" Rosalie did not speak. She sighed and said, "Don't worry. Heinz, you came just in time. You should persuade Jensen. Don't let him date Alice anymore. He just doesn't listen."
"Oh?" Heinz's eyebrows furrowed ever so slightly and he said calmly, "Aunt Brooks, why do you think that Alice isn't suitable for Jensen?"
"A girl, who took Jensen to do some inappropriate things during the day, was of no help to Jensen's career. She would only be a burden to Jensen's career." Rosalie said, "I tried to persuade him but he doesn't listen to me. Jensen just wants to be with her."
"Is there any other reason?" Heinz asked calmly, "Is that the only reason?"
"She's not a good girl. She also has an elder sister who's so sharp- tongued that she doesn't know to respect her elders." Rosalie's eyebrows knitted tightly together. When she thought about it, she shuddered. "I absolutely won't allow Jensen to marry such an ill-bred gid."
"Ill-bred?" Heinz frowned upon hearing this. His eyes were filled with displeasure. "Aunt, you're going a little too far by saying this."
Jensen looked at Heinz and said, "You see? She talks completely by the virtue of her character; she's just too emotional. What do you mean by ill-bred?"
"You shut up." Rosalie said, "I'm talking to Heinz."
Heinz looked at Rosalie, his eyes deep and bottomless. "Aunt, how outstanding do you think Jensen is? What kind of person do you want him to replace so that you would be satisfied?"
Rosalie furrowed her brows. "In any case, it can't be those ill-bred sisters."
"I'm sorry, Aunt." Heinz said lightly, "The sisters you mentioned, one of them happens to be the woman whom I'm going to marry and get a marriage certificate with tomorrow, and the other is my future sister-in- law."
