The staff returned their documents to them.

Grace's hands were cold. She all the documents and put them into her purse in a panic. Then, she turned around quickly. Her steps were a little messy but she still couldn't help but want to escape. This was too embarrassing.

Heinz immediately chased after her.

Grace left in a hurry; her mind was blank and she couldn't listen to anything. She only felt like she had been slapped across the face.

It was Heinz's second marriage.

What was she then?

The role she was playing now turned out to be a mistress. Even if Jodie was gone, she still hadn't clarified the matter with Heinz before getting the marriage certificate with him. Moreover, he didn't even tell her that he had been married.

She thought of how Heinz and Jodie had once gotten their marriage certificate and the kind of feelings they had for each other, even to the point of registering their marriage.

They must have had a deep relationship. Only then would they get their marriage certificate.

However, people who were so close to each other still broke up, and then Jodie passed away.

Grace suddenly lost confidence.

Was the relationship between her and Heinz as intense as it was when they were at that stage?

Even if it was, so what?

Their marrige was not canceled yet.

Heinz and Jodie were a couple by law.

She was just a contemptible mistress.

In the past, she didn't know this, so she could be with Heinz. But now that she knew, she couldn't do that anymore.

After a short moment of panic, Grace's heart was in mess but she quickly found her rationality. She took a breath and calmed down.

Heinz caught up with her and grabbed Grace's wrist.

Grace stopped because of his actions and stood there stiffly, refusing to see the complicated and apologetic expression on Heinz's face. She was in a complicated mood at that moment and her whole heart was in a mess.

She didn't know how to deal with her children, let alone how to deal with this matter.

She only knew that she was now the mistress of another man's marriage. The man's marriage was still there and she couldn't continue on.

"Grace, listen to me," Heinz said as he tightened his grip around her wrist.

He was so strong and he clutched her wrist so tightly that Grace couldn't help frowning because of the pain. However, her heart hurt even more, so she didn't want to remind him of anything. "I'm sorry." Heinz sincerely apologized, "I'm really sorry that such a mistake happened."

"This is not a mistake." Grace immediately retorted, "Heinz, this is a matter of principle. You are married but you didn't even mention it before."

If he had mentioned it, she would have left him a long time ago.

"I forgot." Heinz also felt that his explanation was very pathetic. In fact, he had indeed forgotten.

Grace laughed helplessly. "But have your ever thinking in my shoes?"

"I'm really sorry. Please forgive me. I didn't mean to hide it from you!" Heinz didn't know what to say. He stood there bitterly and looked at Grace, feeling apologetic and guilty.

She said anxiously, "Heinz, this is a matter of principle. Being in a marriage or just in love are quite different. Do you understand?"

"I understand." Heinz nodded. He had lost a lot of his emotions and his handsome face instantly lost its vitality.

Grace also felt that she was becoming more anxious. "What should I do now? Every time I think of it, I will know that my husband has been married before, and that I found out when I was about to get the marriage certificate. I can't blame anyone. I have become a mistress without realizing it. If I still want to be with you, if I go on like this, how would I face myself, my relatives and my children?"

Heinz was stunned and an embarrassed blush flashed across his face.

He was in a difficult position.

He didn't even dare to look at the light in Grace's eyes because it was too bright; it shone on him and made him seem darker.

They had to put aside the matter of marriage for the time being. At the very least, they had to deal with Jodie's household registration problem.

Lester followed closely behind. He did not expect this to happen either. He felt both surprised and regretful.

He saw that Grace's face had turned pale and Heinz had no self-confidence at all.

Heinz said in a deep voice, "Lester, go deal with this matter."

"Yes." Lester quickly went to deal with it.

Heinz looked at Grace again. She had lowered her head but she suddenly called out to Lester, "Lester, don't do that for now."

Lester, who was just about to leave, immediately stopped and looked at Grace in surprise.

Heinz was also stunned and a little surprised.

Grace looked at Lester, ignoring Heinz, and said word by word, "The person who died five years ago hasn't canceled their registration yet. The Lawson family's parents are not in good health now. Your trip there might stimulate them."

"Miss Smith, look at what has happened. Why are you still thinking about other people?" Lester couldn't help but say, "This is not something we can manage. You and the President should get married now." Grace shook her head and said, "Let's postpone our marriage."

She was not in the mood now.

This was a very shocking thing. Now, all her thoughts had been shattered into pieces by shock and she had lost her original enthusiasm.

"Grace, you don't want to marry me anymore?" Heinz couldn't help asking.

Only then did Grace look at Heinz. She looked into Heinz's eyes and saw that Heinz's gaze was filled with apologies.

She was very sad. "Heinz, I'm a disgraced person now. I don't have the courage. I'll go first."

"I can't let you go." Heinz held her arm tightly.

Grace said in a soft voice, "Let go."

"We can't think about breaking up just as a problem arises."

"This is not an ordinary problem." Grace said bluntly, "The fact that you could get the certificate with Jodie back then shows how deep your relationship with her was. The fact that you could have a one-night stand with me six years ago shows how heartless you were. I don't know if I should marry a person like you."

Heinz stared blankly at Grace, as if he had been hit by a blow. He couldn't help but step back and look at Grace who was in front of him in disbelief.

"Y-You look down on me like that?"

Grace pursed her lips and said softly, "I can't understand you clearly. Heinz, I increasingly feel like I don't understand you."

Grace reached out her hand.

Heinz's breathing became tight and his face became more bitter and pale. He pursed his lips and looked at Grace.

Grace's heart ached but she knew that this was not a small matter.

Marriage was not a small thing for people like Heinz.

If a man married a woman willingly, it must be because of a certain foundation in their relationship.

She turned around and felt very sad. Every step she took felt like she was stepping on the edge of a knife.

It was very painful and very uncomfortable.

Heinz looked at her from behind and did not stop her from leaving.

Grace took a taxi from the road in front of the Civil Affairs Bureau and left quickly.

The moment the car left, Heinz's heart was empty.
