True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 660
"Okay!" Pearlyn immediately came to her senses and hurried to help Nathan. The two of them went to the back of the house. When they reached the back, Nathan instructed the auntie, "Nobody disturb them. Let them reminisce about the old days."
"Sure!" The auntie also had a sense of propriety.
Only Heinz and Jodie were left alone in the room.
The surrounding was very quiet, so much that only their breathing and Jodie's sobs could be heard.
Heinz didn't hug Jodie back. He just stood there with a cold look in his eyes.
"Heinz, I missed you so much." Jodie cried and said, "I'm sorry for making you feel capricious. I regret it very much. I was very angry at that time. I shouldn't have done that to you." She expressed her regret, but another face flashed through his mind: Grace's.
Grace wouldn't cry like this. She would rather keep everything in her heart than cry like this.
Heinz was too absent-minded to pay attention to Jodie's sobs at the moment.
The sound of the crying rang in his ears and it made him annoyed instead.
Although he was happy that Jodie was still alive, their feelings for each other no longer existed.
"Jodie, let go of me first." Heinz reached out and pulled her hand away.
Jodie did not let go.
Heinz finally pulled her away by exerting a little more force.
He turned away slightly, avoiding Jodie.
Jodie's face turned pale at once when she was pushed away.
He still rejected her.
Jodie's tears filled her eyes and she felt sour in her heart, but she could not express it.
Heinz was also silent. He glanced at Jodie, frowned, hesitating over how to speak to her.
Jodie was still crying. She covered her face with her hands and suddenly squatted on the ground. She cried bitterly, with her arms wrapped around herself, burying her face in her knees.
She looked like a tiny ball. She had lost a lot of weight.
Heinz opened his mouth to speak but did not say the word "divorce".
"Jodie, don't cry," Heinz finally said.
Jodie was stunned and sobbed for a while. After a long time, she finally stopped crying. She nodded and wiped her tears, feeling a little embarrassed. She stood up, saw Heinz still standing there, and said, "Heinz, have a seat."
"Okay."
Heinz also sat down and the two of them faced each other.
Heinz was still maintaining his blank, cold expression. He did not have too much expression on his face. He did not know how it felt to look at Jodie like this. "Heinz, thank you." Jodie added, "My parents said that you have been taking care of them all this time. Thanks to you, my parents received good medical care." "That was my duty," Heinz said politely.
Seeing that Jodie was alive, Heinz had mixed feelings. He was happy, because at least Jodie was alive, and he was finally free from the Lawson family. At least he wouldn't consider Jodie's parents his own responsibility anymore.
It was always good that Jodie was still alive.
He bit his lips with a mixed expression.
"Yes." Jodie nodded. "Heinz, we're still husband and wife. It's only right for you to do this."
Heinz frowned deeply.
"That time when I went out angrily, I didn't sign the divorce agreement. I was reluctant." Jodie looked at Heinz and said, "I don't want to break up with you." "Jodie, what you did then was wrong. You..."
Heinz was interrupted by Jodie before he could finish speaking. She said excitedly, "Heinz, I was wrong. I knew I was wrong, so I apologize. Please don't rebuke me that quickly. I really do know my mistake." Her entire disposition had changed, as if she had been possessed. Her eyes were filled with sadness and fear. She nodded vigorously and said in a low and painful voice, "I really know that I was wrong, Heinz and I won't make things difficult for you. You don't want me because you dislike me. I know you all dislike me, all of you. I would rather live with a pig, but I beg you, don't leave me."
Heinz was stunned. It was as if a bomb had exploded in his mind. Jodie's reaction was very abnormal.
He looked at Jodie in a daze and couldn't replace his voice for a long time.
Why did she look so fragile? She nodded softly which looked very abnormal.
"Don't hit me. Don't burn me. Don't abandon me. I was wrong. I really know that I was wrong," Jodie cried.
Heinz was stunned. What was going on?
Jodie didn't behave like a normal person at all.
Heinz looked at her as if she was a different person. She cautiously avoided eye contact with Heinz, as if she would be extremely abused at the sight of him.
Something wasn't right.
She was no longer normal.
Heinz couldn't bear it for the moment. How cruel it was for such a beautiful and lovely girl to suddenly become like this.
"I shouldn't have come here. I was wrong. I shouldn't have broken up with you and I should have changed my character," Jodie muttered. Her voice was so soft that it sounded like she was mumbling. She seemed to be struggling to say it out loud.
Heinz didn't know how to face the panic-stricken lady in front of him who looked like a child who had made a mistake.
Even if there were no more feelings for her, he still couldn't bear to see her like this.
"I'm sorry Heinz, it's my fault. It's all my fault. I shouldn't have made you angry, I shouldn't have thrown my temper, and I shouldn't have gone to Alsburg. I know I was wrong," Jodie was still mumbling. Thinking of the quarrel before the breakup six years ago, there was a clear flash of pain on Heinz's cold face.
Panicked, he turned around and left.
He couldn't stay here any longer. He needed to calm down.
"Heinz, don't go," Jodie shouted in a hurry and rushed over to hug Heinz. Seeing that Heinz was going to leave, Jodie felt a strong sense of unease sweep through her.
Her hands were tightly wrapped around Heinz's waist and she was like an abandoned animal. She whispered pitifully, "Don't leave me, or else I will die."
So many years had passed.
She was finally back. She was back to her beloved one.
Her body trembled with excitement and she became weak in the knees.
Heinz was hugged so tightly that he couldn't move.
He closed his eyes.
"Jodie, let go of me," Heinz said in a low voice.
Jodie was so scared that she trembled. Frightened by Heinz's cold voice, she could only let go.
Heinz quickly walked out.
"Heinz!" Jodie caught up with him and ran to the yard. She whispered, "Heinz, don't go, okay?" However, Heinz still left.
When he came out of the Lawson family's home as if he was escaping, he saw Chief Stone.
"Heinz?" When Chief Stone saw him, he was also stunned, and then he looked at Jodie who ran out.
Heinz looked into Chief Stone's eyes with mixed emotions.
Chief Stone rushed over and grabbed Jodie's hand. "Jodie, it's really you. I just heard from my colleague in Alsburg that you're back. I don't believe it. It's you."
