True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 778
Grace felt a buzz in her head when she heard Lowell's words.
She stared at him for a while. When he spoke, his clear eyes kept rolling, and they overflowed with grievances.
It was so easy for him to control his emotions, much like an actor.
A strange feeling arose in her heart, which was somewhat strange yet familiar.
Alice was also attracted by Lowell's adorable look. She looked at Grace and then him again.
Lowell said pitifully, "I only have you two relatives left. Do you think that your unreliable mother can raise me? You should know that she only knows how to give birth to a child, but not take care of it."
These words touched the weak spot in Grace's heart.
Alice's heart was also stung.
Grace paused and asked, "Is your name Lowell?"
"Yes." He nodded immediately and smiled obediently, "I'm not lying to you. I know you are Mom's eldest daughter, and Alice is the younger daughter. You girls still have an elder sister, but she wasn't borne by our mother."
"You seem to know quite a lot," Alice said. She frowned and looked at him. She couldn't hate this little one no matter what.
However, when she thought of Candace, she was irritated. "Who sent you here? You are just a child, but how did you replace this place?"
"Of course, it's Mom who sent me here. Initially, she was going to ditch me at the Smith family, but I was not pleased about that. I told her to do whatever she wanted to and I wanted to come to see both of you. Therefore, Mom asked the driver to send me here. The driver is right outside," he explained.
After that, he looked at the butler immediately.
The butler nodded, "Yes, Miss Smith, a driver sent him here. The driver is still outside carrying his luggage."
"Gosh!" Alice cried out in surprise, "You even brought your luggage. Are you planning to stay here for a long time?"
"Sure," Lowell answered her. He then looked into her eyes and said very seriously, "I've been living from hand to mouth with our mother. She's too unreliable. If I come to seek for your shelter, at least you won't starve me. I'll give my life to both of you from now on."
Grace was so balled up by his words.
She and Alice looked at each other, and Alice asked again, "We don't really know much about you, so how can we take you in?"
"Why can't someone like you from a prestigious family take me in? I won't stay for nothing. I can help you with the chores." Lowell said, "I can sweep the floor, wash the dishes, and do the house chores." The more he spoke, the more pitiful he sounded. It made one's heart ache terribly when listening to him.
"Call the driver in," Grace said to the butler.
"Yes." He went to call the driver right away.
At this time, a man in his thirties came in. When he saw Grace, he said respectfully in an instant, "Miss Smith, I am the driver of your mother, Madam Lowe. This is your brother, the son of Madam Lowe. She asked me to send him to you."
"Take him back." Grace said, "We don't have the obligation to raise this boy. As for his true identity, we don't want to know either."
"Grace, why don't you want me?" Lowell asked. His eyes turned scarlet all of a sudden, which made people feel sorry for him.
Her heart ached a little.
Lowell asked instantly, "Even if I go back, I'll be living on my own too. She would not care for me either. I'll just stay here and play with them, okay?"
As he spoke, he pointed at Gary and Ernest.
"Grace, I can play with them as well as take care of them. I will definitely do as I promised."
Hearing his words, Grace was very upset and could not bear to continue driving him away.
"Please," Lowell begged piteously, looking as if he was about to shed tears.
Grace fixed her gaze on him and explained, "It's not that I don't want you to stay here. It's that we don't know much about your background since you came to us out of the blue. Just because you said that you are our younger brother, then are we to believe you?"
"You can have a DNA test on me. I'm not afraid." Lowell said, "I'm really related by blood to you."
She stared at his face and felt very upset.
She looked at the driver and asked, "What else did she say?"
"She instructed me to tell you that you are not suitable for Mr. Heinz Jones and that you should leave his side early, lest you can't replace a place to shed tears in the future."
"D*mn it!" Alice cursed. "What a brazen woman she is. How can we have such a mother like her?"
"She has always been like this." Lowell said in a low voice, "I've lived alone in a big house since I was five. I ate and slept by myself, went to the supermarket to buy things by myself, and went to school by myself. She doesn't even care about me."
"Tsk!" Alice gave a gasp of astonishment. "That's just like her. She really does act this way."
"So, Grace, can I stay with you?" Lowell once again requested.
She said nothing.
Alice could not bear it anymore.
"Grace, let's keep Lowell here. No matter who he is, he looks very pitiful. Let's keep him here. If he isn't obedient, we will send him away," she suggested.
"I'll be obedient," Lowell said immediately. "Grace, I'm very obedient. I promise I'll be obedient."
Little Gary didn't say anything all this while. After observing for a while, he looked at
Lowell and asked, "Are you still studying?"
"I'm already in third grade," he answered. "You should call me Uncle."
"I don't even accept my father, so do you think I'll accept you?" Little Gary asked in a cocky manner, "You really think of yourself as an elder, don't you?"
Ernest asked too, "Who knows if you are a liar or not? What if you came here to take advantage of us?"
"Then, what should I do for you to trust me?" Lowell asked.
"Time will reveal a person's hearts." Little Gary said to Grace, "Mommy, let's keep him here. Ernest and I will keep an eye on him. If he isn't obedient, we'll teach him a lesson." Lowell looked at Little Gary and said, "It's okay, I'm your uncle. I won't be mad at you no matter what you say. I'll take the high road."
"Puff!" Alice was unable to hold back her laughter.
Grace also couldn't help laughing. The three children were all talking like adults, which was quite hilarious.
While they were talking, Heinz's car arrived at the entrance.
He came back after dealing with the company affairs. As soon as he entered the gate, he saw everyone in the yard.
He got out of the car and walked over. When he saw Lowell, he was a little flustered and asked, "What's going on? Who is this child?"
For a moment, Grace didn't know how to explain Lowell's existence.
He rushed to introduce himself before Grace did, "Hello, Brother Heinz, I'm Lowell. My mother is Grace and Alice's mother. I came to seek your shelter and I will live in your home from now on. Is that okay?" When Heinz saw this little one, who was only a few years older than his sons, he looked at Grace in astonishment.
She felt really awkward too.
She nodded to Heinz and said, "He claims to be my brother. I don't know what's going on either."
