Nelson asked, surprised, "You moved out? You bought a house?"

Jensen smiled bitterly and said, "No. Dad, as a policeman, I can't afford to buy a house, not even in ten years."

Nelson was stunned for a while and felt a little ashamed. He swallowed hard and said, "Son, it's my fault that I let you become a policeman. If you were doing business with Heinz, you may have gotten a lot of money already."

He suddenly felt that he was a little selfish and shouldn't have forced his son to become a policeman.

Up until now, his son couldn't even afford a house on his salary. In fact, he had never done anything great in his life and he was not wealthy either. Now, his son was somehow following his footsteps. Just like him, his son was going to be poor for the rest of his life.

If he hadn't forced his son to make such a choice, he might not have felt so guilty.

However, when his son said those words, he felt really sad and blamed himself.

Hearing his father's regret and guilt, Jensen smiled and comforted him, "Dad, don't blame yourself like this. Although you forced me to be a policeman at first, I like it very much now. I will enjoy my career for the rest of my life, so you don't have to worry about me."

"As for Mom, I wish she could accept Alice. Actually, she has the right not to accept her, though. I just hope that she will not interfere in our lives."

"You can leave that to me. I will ask her to buy you a house. If she can't, she'd better shut up."

Jensen immediately said, "Dad, forget it. I don't need her to buy me a house. I just hope that she can stay out of our lives."

Nelson smiled and hung up the phone, embarrassed.

Jensen looked back at the father and son in the lobby.

Lawrence still could not let the matter go. He opened his mouth again and said, "Heinz, if you really don't want to raise Lowell, you might as well let me take him away."

It was still the same sentence.

The more Heinz thought about it, the angrier

he became. He said coldly, "Why do you have to take him away?"

"I can't bear it."

Heinz scolded him harshly, "It's too late! I'll get someone to take him away right now. It's really strange for you to come here and protect a child. Is that kid yours? You're so shameless. Remember, that's the son of Grace's mother. You should pay attention to your identity. If someone replaces out about you coming here to raise your in-laws, they'll laugh their heads off."

After saying that, he stood up and looked down at his father.

Lawrence was dejected.

Heinz said scornfully, "Don't call me in the future. I have no family bond with you. It's limited to my son and my grandfather. There is nobody else except Alice and Jensen. They are just like my siblings." "To me, Jensen has a stronger bond with me and the relationship between us is much closer than that between you and me."

"You call me whenever you feel like it. Who gave you the right to do that?"

"You insisted on calling me and you're so thick-skinned. I don't care about your goal anymore, but if you want to enjoy your so-called 'family love' or want to take anything from me, don't even think about it. If you're about to die, you'd better stay away from me. You'd better not let me know because I don't want to know about it."

After saying that, Heinz turned around and walked out. He was really very sorrowful.

After waiting for so many years, his father's apology was very insincere. He lied and he was plotting against Heinz even when he was apologizing. That was clearly not the kind of apology that he wanted. What Heinz said might not be appropriate to be spoken by a son to his father, but it was hard for him to keep calm. Perhaps he acted in that way not because of himself. Instead, he was expressing his indignation at his father, who had caused his mother to die with hatred.

To him, Lawrence would never be able to pay off what he owed to her.

Watching him leave, Lawrence slumped wearily in his seat.

After Heinz disappeared into the distance, he picked up his phone and dialed a number.

He said morosely, "Find a way to get Lowell from Heinz and bring my two grandsons along."

Soon, he hung up the phone.

Heinz came out of the hotel and walked straight to Jensen's car. Without saying anything, he got into his car.

Jensen looked at him with concern. Heinz seemed to be downhearted, so he asked, "How was it?"

Heinz said irately, "I didn't replace out everything, but he probably wants me to raise Lowell, yet he doesn't want to admit that he is Lowell's father." Jensen quietly handed him a cigarette.

Heinz took it and lit it. He took a puff from the cigarette, which slightly alleviated his depressed mood.

Jensen also lit a cigarette and the two of them smoked together.

Jensen said, "When you came out just now, your father made a short phone call. I could even feel his frustration from such a distance away." Heinz raised his eyebrows and asked, "Did he make a phone call?"

Jensen nodded. "Yes, it was only one sentence. I saw him talking, but I couldn't tell what he said."

Heinz was shocked again. He looked through the window, only to replace that Lawrence had disappeared.

Heinz took another breath and said, "He made a phone call immediately after being mocked by me. This call was probably very important."

Jensen was befuddled for a moment before he said, "Do you mean that there is something amiss?"

Heinz looked at Jensen and asked, "I really want to know the content of that call. Can you replace a way to get the surveillance footage?" Jensen nodded and replied, "If you want to know, we can replace out by lipreading once we check the footage. However, I'm not sure if we can see his face clearly from that angle." "Get the footage. I want to see it."

"Okay," said Jensen. After that, he picked up the phone and called the police station. He said, "Send an officer who knows how to lip-read to me now. I'm at the Sakura Hotel." "Okay, chief." Jensen's subordinate, who was in the police station, instantaneously began to make the arrangements.

He put out his cigarette and said to Heinz while showing his police ID badge, "I'll go in and get the footage now."

Heinz also got out of the car and said, "I'll go with you. We have always been very passive. This time, we have to deal with it well and get ahead of them."

"Okay," said Jensen. Then, the two of them rushed into the hotel.

Soon after they arrived, Jensen revealed his identity and said, "Show me the footage of the surveillance camera in the lobby just now."

"Okay." The hotel staff were very cooperative and they showed it in an instant.

Since the surveillance system in the hotel didn't have the sound recording function, they couldn't hear what Lawrence was talking about.

What they could do was to enlarge the image. Looking at Lawrence who was inside, Jensen frowned and said, "It seems that he said the word 'Lowell'. I'm not an expert at lipreading, therefore I have to wait for my subordinate to confirm what the uncle said."

Heinz nodded with a gloomy face.

In a short while, Jensen's subordinate came. As soon as he came in, they played the footage for him. After reading it, he said, "The guy said 'replace a way to get Lowell from Heinz and bring my two grandsons along"."
