Chapter 873

Timothy was stunned.

He heard Candace's voice coming from the front car, "Timothy, I'll borrow your car for a while. I'm going now. The ring is really there. Go and dig it. When we meet again, you can give it to me!"

"Candace, where are you going? Stop!" He shouted angrily, but all he could see by then was the exhaust gas from the car.

The car disappeared quickly into the night.

He dropped the tools in anger and took out his cellphone to call Heinz.

As soon as the call got through, he said immediately, "I'm sorry, Candace ran away. She drove my car and escaped. Can you stop her? She should have just arrived at the main entrance of the Alpine Resort." "How could she run away?" Heinz was in shock. "Mr. Yarbrough, you didn't let her go on purpose, did you?"

"No, of course not. I'm sorry. I was fooled by her. She got in the car when I didn't notice and started it. I'm really sorry. She also admitted that Grace is my daughter. You can go and replace Candace. I'll also arrange for my men to look for her."

"Where are you, Mr. Yarbrough?" Heinz asked for Timothy's address because he wanted to ascertain if he was telling the truth.

"I'm at the flower field on the Alpine Resort. I think you should know the address. It's very close to the resort. I can walk there to replace a car."

"We are about to arrive. Mr. Yarbrough, please go to the resort first and meet us there." After saying that, Heinz hung up the phone.

"She ran away?" Grace turned to him and said, "She still got away."

"Candace is used to playing this game. Over the years, she has been running here and there. She is used to escaping. As you can see, she climbed down from the hospital's top floor and ran to this flower field It should be very easy for her to escape."

"That woman, I really don't want to talk about her." She looked out of the window.

Heinz picked up his phone and called Alex. "Investigate Mr. Yarbrough's car immediately. Hurry up and replace its location near the Alpine Resort." "Yes, sir!"

Five minutes later, at the gate of the Alpine

Resort.

Heinz and Grace soon arrived. At the entrance, they saw Timothy anxiously standing at the gate whilst looking around.

The car pulled up beside him, and Grace got out of the car together with Heinz. As soon as Timothy saw them, he apologized, "I'm really sorry. I was fooled by her." "How on earth did you get fooled?" He frowned and asked.

"Before that, she had no strength yet she insisted on coming to see this flower field. I carried her out of the car and had her sit on a big stone, but she distracted me with the excuse of digging a ring. I went to replace the tools. Then, she got in the car and ran away."

He apologized and looked at Grace.

Heinz was calm after hearing this. He smiled and said, "It's normal that she ran away. She has always been on the run. You have not been in contact with her for many years, so you may not know her very well. Now, she runs whenever she can, as she has done too many bad things."

He was puzzled.

Heinz said again, "The news about Grace and I, we suspect that she has something to do with it."

"What do you mean?" Timothy asked in astonishment.

"The news about Grace. Candace may have something to do with the person behind it." Heinz concluded that Timothy may not have suspected her because of their past. He did not know the inside story, but Heinz pointed it out in order for him to understand the truth. Candace was no longer the same Candace he knew. Whatever she did might affect Grace.

Upon hearing that, Timothy's mouth was agape in shock. He looked at Grace in disbelief, unable to speak a word.

She remained silent. She just looked at him and didn't utter a single word for a long time.

Timothy regained his composure and asked, "Do you suspect she is slandering us behind the scenes?"

"Yes." Heinz nodded. "This matter definitely has something to do with her."

"How could this be?" He still couldn't believe this possibility. "Did you ask for confirmation?"

"I believe you know what kind of a person she is. As for how much she has changed over the past few years, I don't know. But anyway, you should know that she must have changed." "She did change!" Timothy nodded. "She just admitted that Grace is my daughter."

He looked at Grace again.

She puckered her lips and said, "Her words may not be true. She is used to telling lies. For so many years, I haven't heard much truth from her mouth, and the things she does are always dramatic, so you can' believe her. We can't confirm if I am really your daughter or not until our DNA results are out."

Timothy nodded, but his eyes were still full of hope. "I think you are my daughter. When I see you, I have a cordial feeling in my heart. This is an inexplicable feeling. I do hope you are my daughter."

As he was talking, Alex called. "President, Mr. Yarbrough's car is parked in the resort, but there is no one in the car. Our people have searched the whole resort and haven't found anyone. They are looking for the surveillance footage to locate where the person is."

"D*mn it, she is so elusive!" Heinz said coldly with a slight frown, "Please check now. She must have left in another car." "Yes!" Alex said, "What about Mr. Yarbrough's car?" "Drive it to the entrance of the resort," he ordered in a deep voice. "Did Candace run away?" Timothy asked.

Heinz nodded and said, "Yes, she left the car and ran away."

"You can drive my car over first. I have a dashcam. It may be helpful!"

As he said that, Timothy turned on his cellphone, connected it to the dashcam, and soon found the surveillance video.

Candace sped all the way to the resort. When she arrived at the resort, she drove into the parking lot. She then got out of the car, closed the door, and disappeared. No one could see where she went. She must have snuck out from behind the car.

"Is she still in the holiday resort?" Timothy asked, "Start searching. We can't rule out the holiday resort. We have to probe carefully. She is very weak and should not be far."

"I'm afraid that she left with another car." Heinz said, "I'll arrange for it to be investigated. Do not miss out any corner of the premise! I'll arrange for men to go through the whole surveillance system to check whether she is inside of the holiday resort. It will be easier for her to hide there."
