True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 876
When Heinz received the call as he sat in the car, he was very surprised.
"Jensen, why do you think he is going to Ladeford City?"
"I don't know. It seems that he is in a hurry to go to that city," Jensen replied in astonishment too.
"Are you sure that he didn't see you?" Heinz suspected that Lawrence might have seen him. "Is this a scheme to lure us away?"
"I can't be sure whether he saw me or not?" Jensen said in a low voice, "I have my suspicions too. That's why I'm asking you to keep your eye on them. One of us must be in Northern City all the time." "I'll stand by in Northern City to keep an eye out." Heinz said in a deep voice, "You follow Lawrence, and I'll arrange some reinforcements for you."
"Okay. That's the plan," Jensen agreed.
After hanging up the phone, Heinz drove home immediately.
At the Smith family home.
When Zachary drove home, he found the lights were on inside the Smith family's mansion.
He was extremely surprised. Ever since Marry and Simon were locked up in the detention center, there had been almost no one in the Smith family, not to mention keeping the lights on at night. Now, seeing that the lights were suddenly turned on in the Smith family, Zachary hesitated a little.
He stopped the car immediately, got out of it, and walked to the Smith Family mansion.
The courtyard was enveloped in silence, and no one was guarding the door.
He walked in from the gate and went inside. When he arrived at the door of the villa, he saw that the door was closed. He gently pushed the door open.
He was slightly startled to replace the door unlocked. Who was home?
Zachary quickly entered the mansion.
It was quiet in the room. The big lights on the first floor were on. The lights were bright as if they were the most luminous lights in the world.
However, this quiet scene made him feel a stark contrast to the merry lights. The whole hall was quiet, so quiet that it stirred a sense of panic in him.
Upon closer inspection, there was no one. Zachary frowned slightly and called out in a low voice, "Is anyone there?"
There was no response. What was going on?
He felt surprised again. He decided to go upstairs to have a look. Was there a thief?
But at this moment, he felt it was impolite to barge in, so he picked up his phone and called Grace. After the call was connected, he said, "Hello, are you at the Smith family mansion? Have you and Alice come back to the mansion?"
"No! I haven't been back since I left." She asked, "Zachary, why do you ask?"
"What about Alice? Did she return?" He raised his head and looked at the stairs. His gaze sharpened.
"I don't think so. We had a situation today. My mother fled from the hospital, so Alice went to take care of the children at home, and I came out with Heinz. Is it possible?" After saying this, she took a breath. "Is it possible that my mother is in the Smith family mansion?"
Hearing this, Zachary paused slightly and said in a low voice, "I will go and check. Then, I will let you know."
"That's a good idea!"
He hung up the phone and went upstairs quickly.
His face was solemn. He felt that the big house was so quiet that it would leave one in a state of trepidation.
As soon as he reached the corridor on the second floor, he seemed to hear a painful groan.
At that moment, he was very dumbfounded. He seemed to have heard his Aunt Candace's voice.
Zachary muted his phone and sent a text to Grace, "Candace should be in the house."
After sending the text, he immediately went to the master bedroom.
When he arrived at the door of the room, he stared at the closed door. The groans coming from the inside sounded agonized.
He stood at the door and waited for a while. When the sounds he heard from the inside grew increasingly tormented, he pushed the door open.
In an instant, he was stunned.
He saw Candace curled up on the big bed in the room. Her face was filled with agony, and her body was twisted. She had really aged a great deal and was in excruciating pain.
"Aunt Candace?" He exclaimed in shock.
Upon hearing the voice, Candace looked to the door in fear almost instantly. She was a little shocked.
"Zachary?"
He walked over and looked down at her. He frowned and said, "How did you get out of the hospital? Why are you in pain?"
"Don't tell Grace. Don't let her know I'm here. Don't ever tell her," she said breathlessly.
The hair on her forehead was drenched in sweat, and the remainder of her hair looked dried up.
She pleaded in panic, "Zachary, I beg you. Don't tell Grace I am here. I just want to stay here for a while. I don't have much time left. This is my last stop. I just want to stay here for a while."
"Aunt, if you are normal and not sick, I will not stop you from being here, but your current physical condition is not suited for this. If you really want to take a walk during your final moments, you can be honest with Grace. I believe she will understand. However, how can you let Grace understand you when you are being so secretive?"
"Are you saying that you still want to tell her that I am here?" Candace's gaze and voice sharpened.
"Aunt, to tell you the truth, I've already told her you're here before I entered the room."
"You are so fast!" Candace couldn't help yelling, but the pain made her lower her voice instantly.
He nodded and said, "I'm on Grace's side. It's not easy for her. You went too far!"
"You are so meddlesome!" She said as she struggled to get up and leave.
"I advise you not to move. I won't let you go like this. You'd better not waste your energy." Zachary said, "You have to go back to the hospital and get treated."
"I won't go!" She shook her head and struggled hard.
She had spent too much energy that day. She was left with not even an ounce of strength anymore. She was already in a lot of pain and was covered in cold sweat.
Her stomach hurt so much that it was unbearable for her; it was as if there were flames in her stomach.
"Aunt Candace!" He asked again, "Why do you have to do this?"
"Zachary, if you regard me as your aunt, let me out." She said in a low voice, "I have to get out of this place. I can't stay like this. I will be very sad."
"No matter how upset you are, you haven't cared about Grace and Alice's hardships all these years." He said in a deep voice, "Don't be too selfish. You have been selfish for so many years, and now it is the last torture of your life. You are enduring torture to pay your debts."
"Zachary, I can't stay here. Please help me this time." When Candace saw that there was no way to persuade him, she said immediately, "There is a place I need to go tomorrow morning."
