Chapter 889

After hanging up the phone, Heinz saw that Grace was looking at him.

He immediately realized something and said, "I changed my mind. I don't intend to let them meet today."

She nodded. "I understand what you're thinking. You don't have to feel burdened. I'm with you."

"Thank you." He felt much better with her support.

She reached out and caressed the back of his hand, her eyes full of warmth. "Heinz, we've uncovered pretty much everything so far. Let's send the children to school. Little Gary and Ernest will go to kindergarten, and we should replace a suitable school for Lowell too. It's not good to stay at home all the time."

He thought for a moment and said, "They should start going to school."

It had been a week, and all the influence should have been reduced. Children certainly could not stay at home for too long and waste too much time.

"Okay, I'll ask the butler to arrange for more bodyguards to protect the children." Heinz nodded and thought for a while more. "Lowell can go to the elementary school next to Ernest and Little Gary's. It'll be more convenient to send and pick them up."

"Alright, you can arrange it." She got up to take a shower. "After it's all settled, I should start going to work, too. I'm bored being at home all the time."

"We haven't found out the truth about Henry yet." He was still somewhat worried.

She arrived at the door of the bathroom. She stopped and looked at Heinz. "Either way, I keep feeling that this matter has something to do with your father and my mother. Lowell immediately shook his head. "Of course I want to go. I even dream about going to school because I can't learn anything at home. I want to go to school and study with other children."

"Lester and the butler will send you to school later. You can start going to school today. You'll enter whatever grade is suitable for you," Heinz said plainly. "Don't force yourself to be the best. Even if you aren't, we'll still take care of you."

Heinz didn't have much to ask from him.

Lowell pursed his lips and said, "I will try my best for sure."

Soon, the children were sent away.

Heinz went to the company.

Only half an hour after he arrived at the company, Lester informed him, "President, Master Jones is at the front desk. He wants to come upstairs to see you."

"I won't see him," Heinz said coldly.

"Master Jones said that if you won't see him, he will stay at the front desk, and that if you keep being stubborn, he'll call reporters over and tell them that you refuse to acknowledge him as your father."

Hearing this threat, Heinz's eyebrows furrowed into a knot. He said coldly, "Lester, let him know that he can bring all the reporters here and tell them all that I don't acknowledge him. I'd rather the Jones Estate go bankrupt than acknowledge him."

"Yes." Lester immediately went over to comply.

However, it didn't take long for him to come back.

"President, Old Master Carter is here as well. He met your father downstairs." Lester looked at him worriedly. "I'm worried that Old Master Carter was called over by Mr. Jones to get you to meet him." "That old geezer!" Heinz couldn't help but mumble. "President, what do you think we should do now?"

"Go and invite my grandfather up here. As for Lawrence, ignore him and let him make trouble downstairs." Heinz would not compromise.

No matter how big of a mess Lawrence made, he would not pay any attention to him.

Meanwhile, downstairs.

William appeared in the hall and caught sight of Lawrence, whom he hadn't seen for many years. He tightened his grip on his walking stick and his eyes were as sharp as knives, but he didn't show it on his face. He paused for a moment and walked towards him.

Lawrence also stiffened when he saw William. He didn't even dare to look straight at him out of his guilty conscience.

William smiled coldly and his lips curled up in mockery. His tone was unpleasant. "Oh, isn't this my son-in-law, Lawrence, who abandoned his wife and son?"

Lawrence's expression froze. He didn't expect William to be so rude the moment they met, to the point where he insulted him right in the hall.

He was the one who had called him over, but he didn't expect it to be so awkward when they met. It made him fall into an even more embarrassing situation.

William didn't spare him any embarrassment at all. Lawrence knew that he didn't have much of a reputation to speak of anyway. After all, it was he who had abandoned his wife and son.

"Dad!" Lawrence opened his mouth and stood in front of William, greeting him respectfully.

"You don't deserve that!" William said coldly. "Don't call me Dad. Call me Mr. Carter. You're not allowed to call me Dad."

"Dad, I'm still your son-in-law."

"You're not worthy," William cut him off icily. "You don't deserve to be in the Carter family. I've seen shameless people, but I've never seen someone as shameless as you. You made my daughter end her life out of misery. You had a child with someone else, yet you can still shove the child to my grandson and granddaughter-in-law to raise. You're the most shameless person on this earth."

Being lectured, Lawrence stood in front of William from start to finish and didn't say a single word.

William's eyes were burning with fury as he looked at him.

When he saw Lawrence, he was truly enraged, because the man in front of him was simply an irresponsible b*stard, and now, he had the gall to look for him.

"Get out. What are you standing around here for?" The more William spoke, the angrier he became.

The receptionist was also very worried.

People were gathered in the hall and they glanced over from time to time.

With a 'ding', the elevator door soon opened.

Lester quickly walked out of the elevator with his men. When he reached the main hall, he saw William and immediately said respectfully, "Mr. Carter, the President invites you up."

"I have to go too," Lawrence immediately said.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Jones. Our president didn't ask you to go," Lester said coldly. "Someone, security, escort Mr. Jones out of the building. If he gets close to the building again, you can all resign immediately." "Yes!" The security guard quickly stepped forward and tried to throw Lawrence out.

"No, I have to see Heinz." Lawrence immediately looked at William pleadingly. "Dad, please do me a favor and send a message to Heinz. I want to see him."
