True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 922
In the early next morning.
Heinz had gone to the company early in the morning, and the children had left for school. Grace was home alone.
Alice had also gone to Jensen's house, and the whole house became much quieter in an instant.
Grace was bored, so she went to the study room, planning to read a few books.
Before Heinz left, he had told Grace that she could go to the study room to read if she was bored. Besides that, she was also very interested in the study room. Soon, she headed toward the study room.
The butler followed behind her and asked, "Mrs. Jones, do you want any snacks?"
"No need. I'm very full. I'll inform you when I'm hungry," replied Grace.
"Okay, I'll prepare some fruits for you first. The chefs have prepared pastries as well. There are milk biscuits and milkshake."
"Okay." After that, Grace entered the study and closed the door.
In the study, she stood in front of the bookshelf, looking for a book that she could read.
Suddenly, a book titled 'A Brief History of Time' came into view. She picked it up and was ready to flip through it.
As she picked up the book, something fell to the ground with a thud.
Grace was startled, and then she saw a few photos scattered on the floor. In one of them, a man and a woman were hugging each other intimately as they faced the camera. They both appeared youthful. Seeing this, Grace was stunned again. She carefully crouched down, finally recognizing the people in the photo. They turned out to be Heinz and Jodie.
They seemed to be in their early twenties, standing on top of the mountain while dressed in hiking clothes with bags behind their backs. Facing the camera, their pose made them look vital.
Grace picked up the photos one by one.
Upon a closer look, she found that the last photo was one where Heinz and Jodie had their profiles against the sunlight. Their silhouettes were cast by the rising morning sun in the background as they kissed. How cheeky and bold.
Grace frowned at this, feeling unpleasant.
Although this was a long time ago, she still felt very uncomfortable when she saw it.
She held the photo and didn't move for a long time.
It was not until she came back to her senses that she realized something. She collected the book and the photos in her arms before walking to the sofa and took a seat.
She placed the photos there, and after a few minutes, she suddenly laughed.
What was wrong with her?
Why was her heart still sour? Why was she starting to feel jealous?
She then proceeded to ponder about it. Perhaps it was because of her pregnancy that her mood was unstable. This was already a thing of the past, and it was not worth mentioning at all. Perhaps Heinz had long forgotten that there were a few photos in this book, so he had not disposed of them.
However, since it was a thing of the past, it should be put behind. Grace stuffed the photos back into the book and returned it to the shelf.
She took another book, and this time, more photos fell out of it.
They were also photos of Jodie.
Once more, Grace was stupefied. Why were there photos in this book as well?
With this thought in mind, she picked up another book and there was another thud. As expected, several more photos fell out of the book. This time around, she was utterly shocked.
She took a few more books, and in no time at all, a whole bunch of photos had fallen out of the books.
Only then did Grace realize the almost all the books had photos of Jodie. They were either intimate couple photos or solo shots.
Jodie was in every nook and cranny.
Grace was beyond bewildered at this scene.
After a while, she heaved a sigh. Jodie was indeed in every nook and cranny. Grace needed to have a strong heart, otherwise, she would die of jealousy.
She sorted out the photos and put them on the desk. When she exited the room, she said to the butler, "Go to the study room and sort the mess out. Find out how many photos of Heinz and Jodie there are, as well as those of Jodie alone. Take them all out of the books. Call me when you're done. I'll go and grab some food now."
The butler was taken aback by her instruction and he asked, "Mrs. Jones, I don't quite understand. What do you mean?"
Grace stopped in her tracks and explained, "I saw that there are photos of Jodie in almost every book, so I want you to sort out the books that still have photos of her in them. Please do as I say."
The butler gasped in surprise and then nodded. "Okay, I understand. I'll sort them out right away."
He then watched as Grace headed to the living room. After that, he promptly entered the study room.
After cleaning up, he had sorted out more than 500 couple and solo photos. There were the intimate ones where Heinz and Jodie left no distance between the two of them, along with extraordinary solo shots. There were also artistic shots, scenic shots, and domestic shots. There were photos of all kinds.
Looking at them, the butler was shocked and felt as though the photos were similar to a ticking time bomb.
He suddenly did not dare to make a decision. If Grace were to see so many photos, she would likely get jealous.
Hence, he immediately took out his phone and called Heinz.
"Butler, what's the matter?" As soon as Heinz received the call from the butler, he immediately became nervous, fearing that something bad had happened to his family or to Grace.
"Mr. Heinz, there's an unexpected situation and I thought I should inform you. Otherwise, I worry that there will be internal conflict." The butler tried to replace the right words to describe the situation.
When Heinz heard this, he was startled. "Internal conflict? What's going on? Tell me about it quickly."
"Mrs. Jones went to the study room and saw photos of you and Jodie. She asked me to sort them out. I saw some photos of the two of you being intimate, and Madam Grace has seen them too. I ended up sorting out more than 500 photos..." Before the butler could finish speaking, Heinz was already astounded.
He pulled his tie and asked impatiently and asked, "More than 500 photos? Why are there so many of them? You saw them?"
"Yes, I saw them. I've sorted them out. You'd better come home quickly. Things will be bad if Mrs. Jones gets angry and her pregnancy is affected." The butler thought that Grace might be narrowminded, and it was impossible for her not to be jealous.
"Alright, wait for me. I'll be back right away." After saying that, Heinz grabbed the car keys and hurriedly went downstairs.
His heart was in chaos. How could there be so many photos of Jodie? It had been a long time since he had read those books in his study room.
Besides, those books had been there for only a few years. How could there be so many photos? This was unbelievable.
He hadn't put a single photo in those books. Could it be that Jodie had done so in the past?
Heinz returned home in a hurry with a sense of uneasiness.
As soon as he entered the door, he saw Grace sitting on the sofa while eating some snacks. When she saw his return, she looked at Heinz in surprise and asked, "Why are you back?" Heinz glanced at her uneasily, both worry and caution in his eyes.
"I was worried about you, so I came back to check on you." Heinz walked over to face Grace. He didn't dare look straight into her eyes as he felt extremely guilty.
Looking at his unusual expression, Grace was caught off guard. "What's there to worry about? I'm eating and drinking well. Look, I've wiped the plate clean. I'm probably going to gain weight." Heinz replied, "It doesn't matter. It's better if you gain weight. You've always been very thin."
"If I keep eating like this, I'm worried I'll gain too much weight. I don't know what's going on with the baby, but I constantly feel hungry." Grace quite felt mortified as she had eaten too much. "It's okay. I'm going to change my clothes. I'll be right back."
"Okay."
Watching Heinz enter the study room, Grace was puzzled and she couldn't help wondering if it was the butler who had asked him to come home.
