Heinz was unbearably nervous.

Looking at Grace's indifferent expression, his emotions were in turmoil, and his face was somewhat pale. He didn't know what Grace was thinking about and whether she was angry.

Grace's stunning face remained emotionless. Seeing how anxious he looked, she found it funny.

Of course, she knew that this was unintentional on Heinz's part, and there was no need to make it into a big deal.

She simply didn't like Heinz's way of dealing with things secretly. She only wanted to teach him a lesson, that he couldn't do anything behind her back next time. That was why she deliberately kept a straight face to scare him.

She still did not respond after a while. Heinz could only say, "Hey, why won't you say anything? Tell me, you're not really angry, are you?"

Grace remained silent. Her attitude was cold, and her eyes were even colder.

The butler couldn't stand it anymore and he spoke up from the side, "Mrs. Jones, Mr. Heinz has always been faithful to you. His study room only serves as a decoration and he pretty much doesn't read books. These books were moved over from the Hart Villa District. Mr. Heinz hasn't taken a single look at them even though they have been here for so many years."

"Butler, you seem to know more about it than Heinz does. Since that's the case, why don't you explain to me about these photos? Why haven't you found them in the study after so many years? Don't you look at what's inside when you clean?" Grace asked him calmly.

She had essentially shifted her focus to the butler in an instant.

The butler was frightened out of his wits, and his face turned pale. He stammered in response, "Mrs. Jones, that's not it. We dare not to pry into Mr. Heinz's belongings!"

"Then, don't explain on behalf of Heinz." After careful consideration, she added, "Leave and close the door."

Hearing this, the butler breathed a sigh of relief. It was none of his business, anyway. However, when he saw Heinz being so submissive, he felt terrified. What if Heinz got angry with him later? He stopped in his tracks at this thought, and he was still in no hurry to leave.

As if she had guessed what the butler was thinking, Grace looked at him who had yet to leave and said, "Don't worry, Heinz won't blame you. This is a matter between the two of us, and I was the one who asked you to help me tidy up the study room. I was too tired and didn't want to collect so many photos. You helped me sort out so many photos, and that's good. Thank you."

After hearing this, the butler felt even more embarrassed. He pursed his lips awkwardly and said, "I'll be leaving."

No one paid any heed to the butler, and so, he glanced back at Heinz and Grace as he walked to the door. Then, he closed it for them after exiting.

He stood at the door and felt unbearably awkward, but what else could he do? He hoped that Heinz would not vent his anger on him later.

At this moment, only Heinz and Grace were left in the room. Heinz hurriedly said, "Grace, please forgive me. Please don't look at the photos. They are all silly things I did when I was young and wild. I don't know how to explain it to convince you to believe in me."

"If you don't know how to explain it, then don't. Otherwise, the more you try, the more difficult it will be to explain." Grace gave him a plain glance and continued, "Also, don't even think about destroying any of these."

Heinz's gaze became even more unsettled. He looked intently at Grace and asked, "Do you not care about me at all? You don't even believe my words."

"If I hadn't followed you in, you would have burned all these photos without telling me. If there was nothing to see, there's nothing for you to explain. Didn't you want to burn them so that you wouldn't have to explain to me?" Grace removed his hands from concealing the photos and pulled the stack to her front. Then, she turned them over one by one.

The content of the photos was truly an eyesore as some of them looked quite intimate. They were all of Jodie holding Heinz's arm or being in his embrace. Some were of Heinz with his arm over Jodie's shoulder and the two of them standing close to each other.

The young faces of the two people in the photos were full of smiles, and it could be seen that those had been relatively beautiful years.

Grace could tell that Heinz and Jodie had spent a wonderful period of time together.

She also knew that she shouldn't be angry and jealous, but she couldn't help feeling a little envious. Nonetheless, her reasoning told her that she wasn't actually furious.

She could still see the bigger picture. This was Heinz's past, not the present, so there was no need to worry about it.

Heinz couldn't help but feel extremely worried when he saw that she was flipping through the photos.

His gaze did not leave Grace's face for a moment. He stared at her and watched her mood cautiously, afraid that there would be a change. He was afraid that she would get angry, which would consequently affect her pregnancy.

Once Grace had finished looking through them, the room was dead silent. The atmosphere was so quiet that it was a little frightening.

Heinz didn't even dare to breathe loudly. He simply stared at Grace nervously for a long time and didn't dare to speak.

Grace sat opposite of him, looking at him with calm eyes.

Heinz could not hold it in any longer and asked, "A-are you alright?"

"I'm wonderful," Grace replied curtly.

"Grace, can you please not speak with that tone?" Heinz replied nervously, "I'm scared seeing you like this."

"What are you scared of?" "Scared that you'll get angry."

"Why would I be angry?"

"Judging by your tone, you must be really angry."

"Is it wrong of me to be angry?"

"No!"

"That's enough, then. Why are you asking so many questions?"

"1-1..." Heinz stuttered. "I was wrong."

"Don't come at me with that." Grace snorted lightly. "I thought you rushed back home because you were actually worried about me. It turns out that you were worried that I would replace these photos." "I was worried that you would get angry after replaceing these photos. The reason is the same in the end."

"Is being concerned the same as having a guilty conscience?" Grace replied with a bland question.

"Fine, I know it's my fault." Heinz had to lower his pride and admit his mistake. "Can we get rid of these photos completely? Please believe me when I say that you aren't the only one who's upset when it comes to these photos. I feel upset too, even more so. If I could rewind time, I really wish that I could meet you first and not have this upsetting past. Although it sounds like I'm lacking a conscience when I say this, I really do think so. Grace, will you trust me?"

"Sure," Grace replied. "I've always trusted you."

"So, do we burn them?" Heinz wanted badly to get rid of them.

"No." Grace shook her head right away and said, "Not only should we not burn these photos, but we should compile them into albums and keep them in the safe."

"Why would we keep these for?" Heinz was puzzled at her decision. "They're so upsetting to look at!"

Grace answered, "When our children fall in love in the future, I will use these photos as a negative example to teach the children that if you can't be sure that the person you're with in your most passionate years will be your partner for the rest of your life, you should bear with it and not hurt others. Otherwise, you'll be the one who gets hurt the most. If you're not careful, you'll become a handed-down man, which is shameful."
