Lawrence was required to pay a hundred million dollars in debt.

Moreover, this was not only his request, but also a trap that Candace had schemed with her death.

She wanted Heinz to help Lawrence pay off his debts. And she also wanted Heinz to be filial toward him. This was also part of the request. Now that he had heard it for himself, Heinz felt an inexplicable sense of sorrow and self-mockery.

What a joke.

He felt that Lawrence was someone who regarded him as a fool. Heinz could not express the sense of powerlessness he was feeling.

"Heinz," Lawrence said in a tough tone. "I am your father and your only family in this world. I don't ask much from you but just this one request. Promise me."

"What about your debts? Don't you need me to pay them back?" Heinz asked coldly. "Isn't that a request too?"

Lawrence was stunned for a moment and he took a deep breath. There seemed to be a hint of hesitation in his tone. After a while, he sighed and said, "You know what, it's up to you if you want to help to pay my debts."

Heinz replied curtly, "Fine, I'll also have you know you can never bury Candace in the Jones family's ancestral tomb. I will definitely not allow her to be anywhere near my mother's tombstone."

Lawrence thought of his mother's suffering the past few years. The sight of her weeping alone in her dreams every midnight was still unforgettable.

He knew how miserable his mother had been when she died with hatred, and how pitiful she would be for the rest of her life.

Now, Lawrence had proposed to bury Candace's ashes in the Jones family's ancestral tomb, right beside his mother. He couldn't possibly torture his mother like that.

Candace was a mistress.

How could he allow a mistress to be buried in the ancestral tomb?

This was an insult to his mother.

That was a blatant insult.

Any man with courage and uprightness would never allow his mother to suffer such humiliation.

As Candace's son-in-law, Heinz had chosen another cemetery to bury her. He felt that he had done his best.

However, Lawrence's request was inhumane, making Heinz extremely angry.

A raging fire was instantly ignited in his heart. It was so violent that he was fuming.

The raging and roaring anger made him depressed, and his entire body was enveloped in a haze.

Even Zachary was also shocked. He had not expected Lawrence would request Heinz to bury Candace's ashes in the ancestral grave of the Jones family. It was extremely inappropriate.

If Lawrence and Candace had been legally married, it would be justified. Yet, this was not the case.

Zachary completely understood where Heinz's anger came from. He also knew that Heinz had already done enough by picking a burial site for Candace.

Heinz had done all of this for Grace.

But it didn't mean that he could have done everything without limits.

Heinz spoke again, "I won't agree. I won't bury her in the Jones family's ancestral grave. It's not appropriate."

Lawrence lost his temper and argued, "If that's the case, then I'll move the grave out and bury the two of us together. After my death, I won't be buried in the Jones family's ancestral grave." The atmosphere grew intense.

Heinz had nearly lost his mind upon hearing this.

For Candace's sake, Lawrence would do just about anything.

He was actually willing to not be buried in his ancestral tomb after death.

"That's impossible!" Heinz bellowed.

He was truly enraged.

He uttered in a very cold tone, "First of all, you are not qualified to take Candace's body. Only Grace and Alice have the right to take her body. You are nothing in the name of law, and you can't get the body or the ashes."

At the end of the line, Lawrence sucked in a deep breath.

"Secondly, do you have the money to buy a cemetery? You are in a lot of debts. I'm afraid you don't have the money to do so. Am I right?"

"I..." Lawrence stammered, his voice stuttering incoherently.

Heinz added, "Thirdly, I have the final say in where to bury you after you die. No one else has the right to deal with your body, and I doubt that you can bury yourself? Therefore, I advise you not to think about it anymore. I won't let you two be buried together."

"Do you really have to make things so difficult for me?" Lawrence asked, and his tone became increasingly dejected.

"My mother was lonely all these years because of you. You and Candace made her suffer for more than ten years! You don't feel guilty at all. Now, you want to continue being with your lover even after death. Who do you think will help you?"

Lawrence gasped, and he didn't say a word for a long time.

Heinz continued indifferently. "Your request is too much. I wanted to forgive you for your past mistakes and let go of them. After Candace's death, I don't want to leave any regrets."

"I thought that you were still my father after all. You gave me life, so I should forgive you."

"But now, I have changed my mind. Your life has nothing to do with me. I will never agree to trample on my mother's dignity and insult her. So, this request will rot in your stomach. Don't talk to me about it again."

"But I..." Lawrence still wanted to say more.

Heinz interrupted him in a sombre voice, saying,

"Don't waste any more time. You're asking for too much. Have you gotten used to having your way?"

Before Lawrence had the time to say anything, Heinz hung up the phone.

He leaned against the back of the car seat and frowned. He gently closed his eyes to cover the helplessness and desolation in them.

Zachary saw the pain on his face and sighed. He said softly, "You did the right thing by turning down his request. I will not agree either. I will support you."

"I know that Grace would always agree, even if I disagree, but I didn't expect my own father to make such a shameless request. I'm truly speechless." Heinz sighed as desolation filled his eyes.

"It doesn't matter. It's fine if you don't agree with his request. There is no rule in this world that says you have to comply," Zachary spoke comfortingly, "So, it's fine if you just go with your way."

Heinz looked at Zachary and responded, "Don't you think it's pathetic for me to stand guard like this? My mother didn't win his heart. It was her sorrow."

"This is her right," Zachary said. "The relationship between Aunt Candace and your father is unacceptable. We will all look down on it, whether it is right or wrong. We all know clearly what's right and what's wrong, and we support you."
