True Love
(Book 4) – Chapter 148

-I have already organised a search for the capture of this woman. Antoni finished by saying, a little withdrawn from them.

-I think it’s a good idea, she’s a danger to my daughter. Said the father-in-law.

-Don’t worry Antoni, we don’t judge you for what happened. It’s not your fault. Said Andromeda’s mother.

-I still feel responsible. She answered guiltily.

-No, love. His fiancée held out her hand and he approached her. -You’re not to blame for anything, ok, get that out of your head.

He gave her a chaste k**s on the lips, and the family reunion was interrupted by a nurse. Notifying him that visiting hours were over.

Four days in the hospital were killing what little sanity Andromeda had left, she wanted to be discharged to finish her rest at home. She was grateful that her parents would stay for a whole month to take care of her, and her friend Peter, well he was wonderful because he would also stay for her safety. And so he had, he looked like her shadow. He said that crazy woman might come back to finish what she started. Just thinking about it gave him chills.

He never imagined such a thing would happen. She was ungratefully well hidden because Antoni hadn’t tracked her whereabouts. In the four days she had only seen him for a couple of hours, as he had been busy searching for this criminal. She sighed and looked up at the ceiling, the strain was taking its toll on her.

-Miss Andromeda, I’m glad to replace you awake. The doctor said cheerfully.

-I can’t be sleeping all the time, doctor.

-Of course not. He laughed. -But rest is important.

-I wish to leave. He begged in supplication.

-And you will! Today. I’ve already spoken to your parents, in an hour you can go home.

She was more than thrilled to hear that she was going home, she could finally feel peace.

-You f*****g bitch! You’re alive, and so is your snotty bastard. But I assure you it won’t be for long. I will personally take care of ending your life. Antoni will only be for me and no one else.

Said the woman lying on a dirty, fluffy mattress, which was in an old cellar on Serifos Island. The woman laughed loudly as she bit into an apple. She stood up, and walked over to the rickety window.

-Your condition is critical, you could lose the creature out of nowhere. I just have to get rid of those annoyances that accompany you. And the rest is a piece of cake. And since Antoni is only looking for me in Santorini, I have no problem with him replaceing me here.

He laughed evilly again, he was losing his mind. As he watched Andromeda roll down the stairs he felt such a great satisfaction in knowing that he could die that he thought about getting so serious about ending the lives of the others. But his main target would be that foreign woman. And then there was the detail of kidnapping Antoni, as she was sure he didn’t want to be by her side she would have to have him the hard way. As far as she knew, the Greek had no protection, as she imagined that his beloved fiancée was the one who needed all the protection she could get. “What an idiot,” she said to herself. He was an easy target, first the bitch and then him.

-Soon you will be mine again! And I will be the one carrying your child in my womb.

While at Antoni’s parents’ mansion they were accommodating the family, who were staying in one of the hotels that belonged to the family. Andromeda had returned to her room, happy to be back under the same roof with her beloved fiancé.

-Well, you’re here, what can you do in this temple now? asked his friend, looking around the room as he sniffed around.

-I don’t know… I can’t do much.

-What did you do for entertainment?

-I stayed on the terrace for hours reading.

-Sounds boring…

-Peter!

-Come on Andro… -Tell me something else, I’ll be here for a month, or more. Something fun to do here.

-It’s an island, you can go out.

-Without you, it’s not the same. -Without you, it’s not the same.

She lay down on the pile of pillows they had arranged for her. From her bed she could appreciate the breathtaking view of the sea. That was the peace she needed.

Three quiet, comfortable months had passed since Andromeda had been discharged. Her parents had returned home two months ago, but Peter, as promised, had stayed with her to keep her company and protect her when Antoni wasn’t home. The poor guy had been so bored all those months, while his friend was still bedridden. But the good thing was that the baby was well and there was only a month to go before the nightmare was over.

Crazy Gina never reappeared, although the report was still pending. Nobody had found her whereabouts. But she didn’t worry about it. She was sure and so was her baby.

-Hey! I’ve had enough. I’m going out tonight.

-I’ve been telling you that for three months. You don’t have to stay at home at night.

-Yes, yes… -Now I will. I haven’t enjoyed this island properly.

-I’m glad you’re finally deigning to come out. -I’m glad you’re finally deigning to come out.

-Antoni will be here, won’t he? -Yes, he will…

-That’s right… -Don’t worry about me.

-All right.

He came up and planted a k**s on her cheek, she was certainly expecting it. But her naughty friend gave it to her on the lips. She looked at him with wide eyes.

-Don’t do that again, or I’ll punish you. She threatened him.

-You can’t get up from there. He said laughing.

But what they didn’t know was that Antoni was watching everything from the door. He turned around in a man’s fury. He went down to his office and poured himself a couple of drinks. Jealousy enveloped him, he knew that his “friend” had other intentions with his wife. He was a man, he knew how the whole process worked. He clenched his fists, repressing the urge to go upstairs and smash Peter’s a*****e’s face in. One drink, two drinks, three drinks… He thought that was enough to appease his anger. At least for a while.

As he went upstairs and entered his room, Andromeda looked out the window. The night had fallen quickly and his wife was gazing out at the stars and the sea.

-Not a nice night! She turned and looked at him with a radiant smile.

-You’re here early, what a joy.

-Yes. He said dryly.

-Is something wrong? She asked frowning.

-Nothing.

-Hmm… -Something’s bothering you, isn’t it?

-Actually, yes.

-What is it?

-That your “friend” k****s you on the lips.

He had sat on the edge of the bed, his back to the woman. She remained silent for what felt like a few minutes, while he waited expectantly for an answer.

-There’s nothing going on between us, if that’s what you think. Peter is only affectionate with me. He knows very well that I love you. Besides, I told him not to do it again.

-Of course! -But they still lived in the same flat.

-What do you mean by that? I ask, raising my voice.

-A lot could have happened in four months.

-What? I didn’t sleep with Peter. -How can you think such a thing?

Antoni didn’t answer, he was upset. And he realised that the drinks had only made his reasoning worse. Now he was criticising her, instead of solving the problem. Shit he was doing! He left the room, just as he had entered “jealous and frustrated”.
