True Love
(Book 4) – Chapter 152

The residence of Antoni’s parents was in an uproar. The owners of the mansion offered to have their son’s wedding there. They believed in the Greek tradition, and as the house was practically like a temple, they thought it would be the ideal setting for the wedding.

There was just one small detail, the bride wanted a very traditional wedding… very American. So there were conflicts between the mother-in-law and the daughter-in-law. But they were healthy, in the end Antoni had to interfere between them. The more they argued, the more the wedding kept being postponed. And the Greek had had enough of having to delay their marriage.

Besides, his daughter was already born. And he and Andromeda were not legally united. He didn’t like that at all. Therefore, he spoke earnestly to his mother to desist from the absurd Greek idea. That it could be done by mixing them.

So, after so much insistence… she managed to convince her mother to do as her fiancée requested…

-I want those flowers to be taken to the garden… and those porrones to the front. Antoni’s mother ordered all her employees.

-You should rest a little, my dear…” said her husband, coming to her side.

-It’s impossible, the bride is getting ready and she can’t be here organising the final touches. Besides, some idiot let some flowers die and I had to replace a very similar replacement so that the decoration wouldn’t lose its sparkle.

-I think you’re overreacting to all this. The old man denies.

-It’s my son’s wedding, what did you expect?

The woman left behind some young men holding chairs and other tablecloths… the old Greek thought his wife was going crazy.

[…]

Your mother-in-law is making a mess down there. Peter says to Andromeda who was being made up.

-If she’s happy… why not leave her.

-I thought you wanted a simple wedding. He replies, rocking Valery in his arms.

-And it will be, there aren’t many guests coming… besides, Antoni did a lot to convince her not to have a Greek wedding. That’s enough for me.

-Then I don’t want to hear you complaining…

-All right! -Why don’t you take Valery with you? Why don’t you take Valery to the room, he needs to get some sleep.

-All right… I’ll take this beautiful doll.

The girl denies amused, Peter was very attached to his daughter… but that was very problematic because Antoni was very jealous with the girl.

When everything was ready for the celebration that evening, it just started to drizzle. Fortunately Antoni’s mother was prepared, so she had had a huge white tent erected to protect her from the sun. But it turned out to be beneficial for protection from the rain.

Andromeda was dragging the enormous train of her dress down the stairs… her mother was helping her so that she wouldn’t trip and fall flat on her face. She’d had enough of one fall, not to have two.

The ladies descended the last step of the steps, when out of nowhere an unexpected visitor appeared. Andromeda stopped her steps, focusing on the woman before her.

-What are you doing here Catrina?

I see today is the big day, I’ve come to see my ex-boss get married.

-You are not welcome in this house, let alone at my wedding. Get out! She tells him seriously.

-Yeah well, I was just curious, that’s all. It’s strange to see a playboy getting married. Said the brunette walking towards Andromeda.

-I’m glad you came to see that you don’t stand a chance with my future husband, so you’d better leave if you don’t want me to send you away.

The Greek stopped her steps, clenching her jaw tightly. She clenched her palms until her knuckles whitened. She looked down at the bride, then smirked.

-Good luck with that womaniser. This one turns around and walks out of the mansion….

-That woman is crazier than a goat. Vociferated the bride.

-I see!

The bride forgot the incident that had happened, to walk to where her future husband was waiting for her. She put on her best smile when she saw Antoni prostrate at the altar looking at her with those beautiful eyes.

[…]

-Mother! This dress is still too loose.

-But I can’t adjust it any more, Valery. I told you to eat well, you went on that ridiculous diet and lost a lot of weight.

-Ma! Don’t tell me that… I’m too skinny? The girl blanched.

-I thought the way you were, you were doing fine… but well, I’ll try to get this dress tighter, baby.

The girl bit her lower l*p waiting for her mother to do miracles to adjust her 15 years dress well… that day was her birthday, she was anxious and nervous because her parents and grandparents had organized a good party for her. Although she didn’t care about the party, she just wanted to see the one person she had promised to attend.

Valery closed her eyes and smiled… if only her parents knew that she was pining for Peter. Yes well, she knew he was too old for her… but in three years she wouldn’t be, and when that day came no one was going to stop her from being with her favourite doctor. Anyone could say that she was completely crazy, she was a girl in love with a super old man. But then again, there is no such thing as age for love.

That night she was going to see him, she hadn’t seen him for two years. He didn’t travel much to Greece, that’s why she was rarely in his company, because every time he went to visit her, she didn’t leave his side. Or well, when her father didn’t bother her about behaving.

-You’re ready! her mother sentenced.

-Can I come down now? she asks excitedly.

-Yes, I suppose you can make your grand entrance now.

-Finally! she says, running towards the door.

-Do you expect to see anyone at this party, daughter? asks her mother with her arms crossed.

-Of course I do! She smiles mischievously.

Andromeda watching her daughter smile at her like that was like watching her husband as a teenager and a woman. They were identical, right down to the kinky side. She wondered who this boy was that her daughter was drooling over. Since she had become a young lady, she hadn’t had a single boyfriend. And that was strange.

Either she was afraid of her father… or, the girl was saving herself for someone special… and the second option was the most logical. Valery was a very beautiful girl, and I knew she had many suitors, it was obvious, every time I took her to school the boys looked at her, some greeted her but she ignored them all. Taking her even though the person she was waiting for had to be very special.

Andromeda narrowed her eyes, no matter how hard she tried she couldn’t replace the boy. Her daughter had been quite secretive about it. Why did she keep it so secret? Did she even know him?

-Come on, Mom, hurry up, will you?

Her daughter’s words brought her out of her musings… the woman reacted, smiled and followed her. Later she would replace out who the lucky young man was. Or well, not so much.
