Turning Of The Tide (Natalie and Trevon) -
Chapter 704
Natalie was still worried about Sherri. There was no surgery in the afternoon, so she left after exchanging a few words with the nurse at the reception desk.
The weather forecast said that it would be drizzling today. After checking the weather forecast, she chose four rounds. There was already a disabled person at home who needed to be taken care of every day, about the same as a third-class disabled person who needed help with showering, face washing, teeth brushing, and so on.
Since she needed to take care of the disabled, she could not catch a cold. The car slowly drove towards the villa of the Blackwell family.
When Natalie got to the Blackwell family, only Joy was watching TV dramas in the living room, eating peanuts. The huge television screen was playing the funny genre of soap operas. Joy was laughing so hard that she did not notice when Natalie entered.
"Madam, is Sherri upstairs?"
Upon hearing the voice, Joy turned to look at the voice. When she saw that it was Natalie, she stood up happily and went over to welcome Natalie. "Natalie, why are you here? Is Jasper with you?" As she spoke, she looked out of the door.
It was obvious that she already knew about Jasper and Ruby. "Jasper went to work. His father has been sick for the past few days and is resting at home, so he's quite busy. I'll get him to come and apologize to you when he's free."
Joy rebuked and patted Natalie's hand. "Child, why will he need to compensate me? Young people are free to date. I've always thought highly of Jasper. I hear Sherri talking all day long about Jasper not being into Ruby. I also feel that it's a pity when I hear it. Isn't it great now? Everyone is happy. How good is that?"
Natalie smiled awkwardly. "As long as you don't blame us for being insensible."
"I'm not the empress. It's normal for young people to fall in love behind their parents' backs. For freedom? I understand. Although I am old, I can understand the liberty and democracy that the younger generation talks about, right?"
Natalie thought, 'She had really been surfing on the internet a lot.'
After listening to Joy praise Jasper, Natalie finally went upstairs to look for Sherri. She pushed open the door of Sherri's room. The room was dark and the curtains were not even pulled open. The person on the bed was sleeping like a dead pig.
Natalie walked over and checked her breathing. She stood by the bed and looked at her best friend who had bruises under her eyes. "You slept well. I thought you were dead."
Sherri was already awake. It was already afternoon, but she had no strength in her body and could not be bothered to open her eyes. Natalie saw that her eyes did not move and was about to leave when Sherri's duck-like voice came from behind. "How can you treat me like this? If I'm not panting, will you call the funeral parlor for me?"
Upon hearing this, Natalie stopped in her tracks and turned around. She said to the person on the bed who still had her eyes closed, "You're awake. I thought you were dead asleep. Your Hackett said that you went overboard with the drama. Didn't the two of you fight last night?"
Half-dead, Sherri stretched her bare arm out of the blanket. She used all her strength just to raise her hand. "Do I look like I didn't fight? I'm about to become a hickey base. Count it."
Her mind was a little muddled. She couldn't remember what time it was before she fell asleep. She only knew that she was on the verge of death.
Natalie's jaw almost dropped when she saw the red hickeys being overlaid. This was playing with her life... Wasn't she afraid that her body would be damaged?
"Um, do you want me to take you to the hospital?" Natalie was just afraid that her best friend would quarrel with Hackett, but she didn't want to probe into their nightlife.
Sherri struggled to open her eyes and said helplessly, "Go to the hospital? Tell others that I was putting out the fire last night? Well, I think I fought 300 rounds last night. I don't want to live happily for the next month. I need to recover my vitality. I feel that my belly is damaged."
"Looks like it's alright. Your Hackett has restrained his strength and it's not the end of the world. I'll pour you some water." Natalie was amused by her best friend's half-dead appearance. Sherri raised her beautiful arm. "Help me sit up first. I'll let you see the battle situation last night."
"Yes, Your Highness." With that, Natalie walked to the bed and prepared to help her best friend sit up. However, this fellow did not have any strength at all. She used a lot of strength to pull Sherri up. The blanket slipped off, and the hickeys on her body were even more, much more than her arms. "Did your Hackett walk out in the morning or lie down?"
"What do I know? It's good enough that I didn't fall asleep. I have to make Hackett ascetic for a year."
Natalie helped her replace a set of pajamas in the wardrobe and threw it on the bed. She did not comment on this sentence because, with her best friend's personality, even if Hackett could hold it back, her best friend might not be able to hold it back. "Put it on. If Joy sees it, she'll probably be scared to death. I suggest you don't leave this house today. Stay glued to the bed. Do you want me to pour you water and get lunch?"
"Yes, yes, yes. I'm starving. I'm exhausted and need to replenish my energy."
Hearing the empress's order, Natalie turned around and went downstairs to get food. Ten minutes later, she came up with a tray and pushed open the door again.
She bent down and placed the tray on the bedside table. Sherri had already put on her shirt and pants. She planned to sit on the bed and eat. Her feet were no different from being paralyzed. She was afraid that she would fall to her death.
Joy gave the warm swift grain and the freshly made omelet to Natalie. She asked her best friend, "Which one should you eat first? Swift grain or omelet? Joy just asked the nanny to make an omelet." Sherri glanced at her plate and made a choice. "Omelet."
Natalie pulled a stool and sat down by the bed as if she were taking care of a serious patient in the hospital. She could not help but laugh. She picked up the omelet and handed it to Sherri. In the end, Sherri's hand trembled non-stop like she had some neural disease. She could not get the omelet at all.
Receiving the cold gaze of the patient, Natalie restrained her smile. "Alright, I'll feed you. I'll help you to the fullest."
Sherri angrily took a bite of the omelet and said in an unfriendly tone, pretending to complain, "Who am I doing this for? If you had told me earlier, I would have changed my plan. Do I have to lie in bed and get hickeys all night? Who caused it?"
After being accused, Natalie apologized sincerely. "It's my fault. It's definitely my fault. I promise there won't be a next time. Am I not here to serve the Empress?"
Seeing Natalie's sincere attitude, Sherri let her go and happily ate the omelet. "Feed me slower. I haven't swallowed it yet."
"Alright, give me a signal after you finish swallowing. Can I feed you again?" Natalie was not angry. Instead, she smiled indulgently and cooperated.
After lunch, Natalie seriously talked to Sherri about Jasper. "Hackett just accepted Jasper. Don't be anxious. Don't always say engagement or marriage in front of Hackett. Take it slow. Jasper doesn't plan to marry anyone else. No matter what, he will be your son-in-law. Don't worry now."
Sherri rolled her eyes at her best friend. "You should have said so earlier. Alright, since the two children are together now, my wish has been fulfilled. I have to coax our Hackett first."
At around 4:30, a white Lamborghini was parked in front of the studio.
The car door opened and Jasper came out from the driver's seat. He had something to discuss with Ruby today and wanted to send her home.
When the assistant saw that Jasper was there, she knew what to do and prepared to get off work. Ruby had already told the assistant that her father knew about this and said that he would not cause trouble for her. After all, Ruby was the one who asked the assistant to lie, who was just a part-time worker and was serious about her work.
Hackett knew that her daughter liked the assistant very much, so he did not intend to fire her. He did not pursue the matter and only said that he would let the little assistant work well.
The assistant had already carried her bag on her shoulder. "Ruby, I'll take my leave first."
Ruby was lowering her head to cut the fabric. When she looked up, she saw her boyfriend striding in from the door. She smiled and put her long hair on to make it easier for her to work. She forked a pencil and said, "Okay, be careful on the way."
"Alright, bye-bye, Mr. Wilson. Bye-bye, Ruby."
Jasper nodded politely. He did not look at the assistant the entire time. His gaze was fixed on Ruby. The assistant ran away quickly, adhering to the principle of not being a third wheel. "Why are you here so early?"
Jasper walked closer and stood beside her. He looked down at her making clothes and said calmly, "I'm here to pick you up... to send you home."
She looked up at him and smiled. "I'm almost done. It'll take a while."
"Mm." With that said, Jasper pulled a stool and sat beside her to accompany her. The two of them looked at each other for a few seconds, their eyes filled with an unburdened smile. Falling in love under the sun was really much better than falling in love underground.
He raised his hand and stroked her eyebrows, then touched her cheek. "I'll accompany you."
"Okay." With that, Ruby lowered her head to work again. Afraid that he would wait too long, she was very serious and careful. He saw her anxiety and reminded her, "I'm not in a hurry. I've already finished everything."
Ruby looked up again and met his calm face. "Oh, alright then."
Jasper had lied. He only wanted to send her home. After sending her home, he still had to go to the company to work overtime. These few days, his father had been recuperating. Without half a month, the injuries on his face would not heal completely.
Ten minutes later, Jasper suddenly spoke. His tone was negotiating. He respected Ruby's thoughts and asked gently, "Ruby."
Ruby did not look up. She thought that Jasper just wanted to chat with her. "Huh?"
"Do you want to work at the company?"
Hearing this, she stopped what she was doing and looked up at him. When she met Jasper's gaze, she looked through his eyes to replace the true thoughts in his heart. After a few seconds of silence, she smiled and said, "I'll listen to you. What about this studio? How should we deal with it?"
There were memories of her and Jasper here. She didn't want to sell it anymore. This shop had already been bought.
After the two of them got together, Jasper found the landlord and bought the shop under Ruby's name.
