The car got hit, and Clara was so taken aback that she needed a moment to gather herself! After a fewseconds of daze, she finally opened the car door and asked, “Dude, are you a newbie at driving?”

The man awkwardly scratched his head, “I’m really sorry! I’m not really myself today I’ve caused youtrouble! I’ll take responsibility”

Clara reluctantly got off the car to take a look.

She let out a sigh, checking the time. “Are you gonna call your insurance now? I’ll wait for you here.”

1 don’t have car insurance! How about this, I’ll give you cash! You come with me to get it, and thencould you kindly get it fixed yourself? Ten grand, is that enough?”

Ricardo was in the front seat, reporting the branch office’s situation to Emmett

Listening to him, Emmett suddenly asked, “Any news from AW company recently?”

“Taylor?” Ricardo thought momentarily, “He seems to be laying low lately, no new projects apart fromthe ones with his long-term collaborators. He met Mr. Quintin a few days ago, but it didn’t seem theyreached an agreement. Their name wasn’t in the new land bidding either.”

“Seems like Taylor’s about to quit the business world”

“Seems so! I heard Taylor’s been having constant headaches since his car accident. His conditionmight have worsened, so he’s not in the mood for

business.

Emmett looked at the documents in his hand, “But we can’t let our guard down. Their silence meansthey’re planning something. We need to know our

enemies.”

“Don’t worry!” Ricardo chuckled, “With Mr. Melendez’s wealth and power, a small company like AW isnothing! Plus, Taylor is ill”

“Never underestimate Taylor, he’s quite resourceful” Emmett always saw Taylor as a worthy opponentin the business world.

As for love rivals? Not so much.

Ricardo nodded, “I’ll listen to you I’ve learned much from being by your side for so many years! If youever fire me, I can still make a living.”

What are you planning to do wrong to get fired?” Emmett arched his eyebrows.

“I dare not do anything wrong! I’m walking on eggshells now”

“If you’re loyal to me, even if you make mistakes, you’ll only get a light punishment. I won’t let you leavethe Melendez Group! Otherwise, how can I get things done without any trusted aides?”

When Emmett thought of Clara, he smiled faintly. “Her appearance was unexpected.”

He thought he would never meet a woman he liked because of his personality.

He was even prepared to stay single for life!

“She is so lucky! Being with you, receiving so much love from you! If I were a woman, I might bejealous.” After saying that, Ricardo felt something was off; he quickly explained, “No, Mr. Melendez! Ididn’t mean I have any special feelings for you.”
