Unbreakable Love His Passion for Her Transcends Death -
Chapter 477
"What have you heard?" Shannon had always cared a lot when it came to her sons.
Zoey purposely kept her in suspense. "Nothing. It's probably not true. After all, Jerry's not that kind of person." That just made Shannon want to know more about it. "Stop beating around the bush and tell me about it now." Then, Zoey finally said slowly, "I've heard that Yvette used to like Jerry before and that they even dated once."
Shannon felt like she had just heard the worst news in the world. She had never liked Yvette in the first place. After hearing that Yvette had funny ideas about Jeremiah, she immediately became infuriated.
"Not a day goes by peacefully with that woman around," she said coldly.
Zoey grabbed her hand. "Please don't be mad, Madam Shannon. Actually, I don't believe that they've dated before. I'm just worried about..."
"What?"
"Well, I'm worried that Yvette isn't satisfied with what she has." She had a concerned look in her eyes.
"There's something else that I didn't want to talk about at first. But since we're on the topic, I have to tell you about it now. Previously, I saw Yvette meeting Jerry in private. I don't know what they talked about, but her eyes were red." As Shannon listened silently, she clenched her fists, thinking that the Lane family was unfortunate to have Yvette around.
"Zoey, don't tell anyone else about this, alright?" she said softly.
Zoey nodded. "Of course."
...
After Yvette recomposed herself, she started decorating Dewberry Manor with Xavier and Noah. She placed Viola's photo in the most obvious spot in the house.
"This way, you'll be with us forever, right?" She stood there for a long while as she placed her hand on the photo.
Noah approached her and said, "I'm sure Grandma is watching over us." "Yeah." She nodded.
Yvette remembered how Claude used to scare her when they were younger by saying that there was only darkness after death. Back then, she had cried and said to Viola, "Viola, can you stay with us forever? Chubbs said there's only darkness after we die."
Viola had comforted her by saying, "Oh, silly girl. Why would there be darkness after we die? As long as someone remembers us, we'll become a star in the sky and watch over the people we love."
Yvette looked at the night sky through the window, and a breeze blew on her face. She figured Viola was there to see her.
By the time they were done with the decorations, Noah had already fallen asleep. Even in his sleep, he kept holding Wette's hand, worried that she would leave him. Yvette stayed by his side and also fell asleep after a short while.
It had been a while since she had slept peacefully. This time, she didn't even realize when Xavier entered the room. He grabbed Noah's hand and carried the boy in his embrace. Then, he placed Noah in the room next door.
"You sure are shameless for sleeping with your mom at this age, you brat." After that, he closed the door and slept next to Yvette, holding her in his arms.
Meanwhile, Noah was holding his pillow next door and mumbling to himself, "Oh, you bastard father. So you want to snatch Mom away from me, huh? That's not happening!"
When he opened his eyes the next day, he saw the huge pillow in his arms. He anxiously rubbed his sleepy eyes. "Mom? Mom!"
...
Noah looked at his surroundings, replaceing everything unfamiliar. "Why am I sleeping here?"
He scratched his head in confusion. "I must be dreaming. Let me just sleep a little while longer."
Yvette hadn't 't slept well for the past few days, and Noah had been too worried about her to sleep well as well. Since he had finally had the chance to get a good night's sleep, he figured he wouldn't be able to wake up that easily.
