Unbreakable Love His Passion for Her Transcends Death -
Chapter 500
Xavier finally understood what was going on. "I told the staff beforehand to leave everything exactly as it was. Not a single item, not even the position of a pen, was to be altered. Everything else depends on my memory." Yvette looked around after hearing that. Indeed, everything was in perfect order, without any changes. Even so, she couldn't help but admire him.
Even if everyone else went blind, Xavier was the kind of person who could navigate. Some people were just born to lead.
"You're amazing," she said sincerely.
It had been a long time since Xavier had been praised by Yvette. Her sudden compliment caught him off guard, and a smile crept onto his face. He tightened his grip on her hand. "Silly." The air crackled with unspoken attraction.
Yvette's face inexplicably flushed. "Let go. I'm going to... mop the floor."
"Okay." Xavier obediently released her hand.
Yvette's palm grew warm and clammy under his grasp. Without giving it a second thought, she grabbed a mop and quickly wiped up the spilled water.
When she finished, she noticed Xavier standing by the window. His tall frame blocked most of the light from the balcony.
He turned around, his cold and handsome face exuding an air of nobility.
Just as he was about to say something, a maid's voice came from the doorway. "Mr. Xavier, Ms. Yvette, Madam Shannon is here."
As soon as she finished speaking, Shannon and a group of maids came in.
"Where's Noah?" she asked, glancing around.
Xavier replied, "He's upstairs, already asleep."
Hearing this, Shannon sat down on the couch. "Then I'll wait until he wakes up."
But Xavier shattered her happy mood. "Noah is not my son."
Shannon froze at the revelation. "What did you say?"
Xavier did not explain. So, Shannon turned to Yvette, who looked a bit awkward. Knowing that Xavier was still suffering from amnesia and that many things were uncertain, Yvette chose to continue the lie.
"Noah is my son with Claude."
Shannon's lovely features contorted in disbelief as she cried out. "Are you joking?"
From the first moment she'd seen Zachary and Noah, she'd felt they were her grandchildren. But now Yvette was saying they were Claude's.
"I'm not joking. Didn't Noah say it too? His last name is Lander."
Shannon was so angry she couldn't speak. She didn't believe it. "Yvette, do you know what you're saying?"
She stood up and walked over to Yvette. "If what you're saying is true, then you've betrayed Xavier."
Yvette remained calm, showing no shame. "Then that's what it is."
Shannon clenched her fists in anger. At this moment, Xavier walked over to her. "Mom, quit making a fuss and leave."
"Making a fuss?" Shannon, who was already enraged by Yvette, now felt fury at her son. Her eyes filled with anger. "She's deceiving you, and you're blaming your own mother."
"I don't care," Xavier repeated.
Shannon was shocked, unable to believe what she was hearing. "Have you lost your mind along with your memory? She's been unfaithful to you!"
She shed her upper-class facade. She was eager to shake some sense into her foolish son. How could someone who'd been so bright as a kid turn out so dim? Xavier's face darkened with increasing intensity. "Get out! I won't say it again."
Shannon was startled by his tone; she stood frozen to the spot for a moment before reluctantly leaving.
Once outside, she immediately
called a neurology specialist. "Hello,
is this Dr. Lloyd? I need to know something. If someone suffers from amnesia after a car accident, can it
affect their intelligence an
She couldn't understand how Xavier had ended up in such a position. How had he become so willing to lower himself and be a child's stepfather?
