Tristan's hand froze in midair for a while before he pulled it back. "I..."

Yvette didn't wait for him to finish his words and returned inside the house. He still wanted to apologize to her, but Xavier pulled him back. "What are you doing, Xav?" Xavier said calmly, "You can apologize next time."

It was a festive day, and he didn't want Tristan to ruin it for him. When Tristan heard that, he figured he should also take it slow. "Sure."

He'd wanted to see Noah at first, but now it seemed better for him to leave for now. "Well, I'm heading back now. I'll visit again next time." "Yeah."

Then, Tristan left in his car.

After Yvette entered the house, she got back on the couch and continued reading. When she saw Xavier entering the house after a short while, she couldn't help asking, "When you said you had to step out, was it because of Tristan?"

That was why Xavier had been afraid that Tristan would ruin the day for him. After hearing Yvette ask him about it, Xavier immediately denied everything. "I didn't know what he was talking about."

She closed her book and looked at him solemnly. "Good. Tristan and I will never be friends. At least not now."

She didn't stop Xavier from being friends with anyone. However, she had her own choices when it came to her own friends.

Xavier sat next to her and held her in his arms. "Yeah, alright. I'll respect your decision."

When he held her, she was stunned for a moment. Then, she tried to get his hands off her. "I'm going to continue reading now."

"What are you reading?" he asked and didn't let go of her.

"It's just some normal book about the law. I found it in your study," she answered. Xavier's study was like a mini library with various kinds of books.

Yara was still being detained and had not been sentenced to anything yet. Yvette wanted to take back the Snyder family's assets, so she had to learn something about the law.

"Are you reading it because of Yara? Shall I get a team of professional lawyers?"

She rejected his offer. "No. I can handle it myself."

Xavier realized she wouldn't let him help her with anything she did at all. Just as he wanted to say something else, the maid knocked on the door. Yvette hurriedly pushed him away, and he faced the door angrily

"What's wrong?"

The maid said with her head down, "Mr. Lane Senior has requested for you and Mrs. Lane to join him for dinner with Mr. Noah." "Got it."

The maid immediately got out of there. She hadn't expected to run into Xavier and Yvette cuddling at all.

After the maid had left, Xavier

wanted to continue holding Yvette in his arms. However, he was hit with a huge pillow. "Don't just hug me whenever you feel like it. I don't like it at all." .

Yvette's belly was getting bigger, and she felt uncomfortable when he held her. After she was done speaking, she went to grab Noah for dinner later.

Noah was playing with some toys in the children's room. When he heard Yvette approaching, he immediately stood up. "What's wrong, Mom?"

"Xavier's grandpa is asking us to join him for dinner. Remember not to say any nonsense at the table later, understood?"

He nodded repeatedly. "Don't worry, Mom. I promise I'll keep my mouth shut."

She smiled gently and ruffled his hair. Noah looked obedient on the surface. However, he was thinking about how he should mess with the Lane family during dinner later.

When Xavier and Yvette headed to

the dining room with Noah that

night, Zayden and his family were already there. Jeremiah, Zoey, and Shannon were there as well. Zayden had a long face, and Malcolm was glaring at Noah.

Malcolm didn't understand why Noah was way more annoying than Zachary when they both looked identical.
