Unclaimed Luna’s Desire
Chapter 60 Outbreak, Chaos

Ellie's POV:

"Paul, you betrayed me." That was Aelros' voice.

When the figure shut the door, I finally saw his face. It was Aelros.

'What's he doing here?' I wondered.

"I didn't betray you, Aelros," Paul said with a shrug, sounding totally unbothered. "We teamed up for mutual gain, and nothing's changed. I still need you to take over from your dad."

"You knew how long I've been looking for her, but you kept Ellie hidden," Aelros shot me a glance, accusing Paul angrily. "You took Ellie away."

I wanted to jump in and explain that it was my foster parents who kidnapped me, not Paul.

I didn't want Paul to get the blame because of me. But Paul shook his head at me, signaling I should stay out of it.

He settled me into a chair and told me, "Stay put and don't move. Drink the milk on the table. Skipping breakfast is bad for your stomach." He pushed the cup of milk towards me, then turned back to Aelros. Breakfast was the last thing on my mind. I couldn't focus on the milk Paul had pushed in front of me; my attention was glued to the two of them.

"I like Ellie. Why can't I go after her?" Paul said confidently.

"You're stealing my woman," Aelros snapped, clearly fed up with Paul. He stepped forward and punched Paul hard in the face.

Paul's cheek swelled up instantly, but he didn't even flinch. He spat out some blood and taunted, "Don't think I don't know. You only see Ellie as a hookup and don't really care about her."

"And you? You just like her because she doesn't have her own wolf," Aelros shot back.

They started fighting, fast and furious.

I wanted to break it up, but I had no idea how.

They were two grown wolves, top fighters in the Pack. If they didn't want to stop, no one could make them.

I knew this and could only sit there, watching from the front row.

My eyes landed on the blood seeping from Aelros' chest.

It wasn't from Paul; the wound was scabbed over, an old injury.

Aelros had been hurt before!

What happened when I wasn't around?

"Paul, stop! Aelros is bleeding!" I yelled, but Paul didn't even flinch.

Paul swung a massive hand at Aelros' head, but Aelros dodged easily, and the table turned into a mess. Aelros bared his sharp teeth and lunged at Paul, who dodged too.

They were evenly matched, neither gaining the upper hand for now.

The living room furniture was wrecked, no longer looking fancy, the fight spreading everywhere.

Luckily, they didn't hurt me. It seemed like they were avoiding my spot on purpose to keep me safe. "Aelros, stop! You're bleeding!" I pounded the table and stood up, quickly moving towards them.

But after a few steps, a sharp pain hit my joints, making it hard to stand. It was the joint pain from the upcoming transformation.

I knew I had to get out of there.

I had a feeling my own wolf was coming soon.

My body was changing fast, almost every hour something new. I needed to replace a place to hide and wait for the transformation day. Watching the two guys go at it, I had a sudden realization.

I couldn't compete with powerhouses like them in the Pack, especially since I didn't even have my wolf yet.

I'd been so naive, thinking having my own wolf would keep me safe.

Staying away from them was the smartest move.

They were ready to throw away life and friendship for power. Both of them were dangerous. Counting on either of them was a mistake. Sure, they could protect me, but they could also bring danger.

Ignoring the pain in my body, I quietly edged along the wall.

It was too risky for me, whether it was getting kidnapped or being caught in their fight.

I needed to replace a completely safe place and wait for my transformation day.

Honestly, I was pissed.

From their conversation, I realized that to Paul, I was just an interesting toy, and to Aelros, I was just a sexual partner to boost his abilities. Even though I had feelings for Aelros, I wasn't a pushover and couldn't let him use me and break my heart.

I believed I didn't need anyone's help and could live just fine on my own.

Aelros and Paul were big shots in the Pack, both in status and abilities, and everyone paid attention to them. They lived in the spotlight. But I needed to keep a low profile.

I was just an ordinary member, and my biggest wish was to survive and get back at the people who had bullied me.

I needed to stay under the radar because someone like me, without power, would become a target if I drew too much attention.

Seeing how they could rally so many people, I finally understood the huge gap between us and that I needed to protect myself. The roaring and fighting were so loud, it felt like they were going to bring the house down.

Taking advantage of the chaos, I slowly made my way into the living room.

I thought I was finally close to the freedom I longed for.

Leaning against the wall, I felt around and finally found the doorknob. Freedom was so close.

I watched the two fighting men warily, afraid they'd notice my escape. Luckily, they were too focused on each other or assumed I wouldn't run.

I knew if they caught me, I wouldn't be able to leave.

So, almost without hesitation, I opened the door that Aelros had closed.

Just as I was about to step out, a huge hand grabbed mine, then moved to my wrist, stopping me in my tracks.

My heart skipped a beat, and my breathing slowed.

I only knew Paul and Aelros here, and I had no defense if a stranger wanted to hurt me.

I swallowed hard and slowly turned my head.

It was Weslin. This was unexpected.

I thought, 'Why is he here? At this time, Weslin should be teaching. I've seen his schedule and attended his classes many times. It can't be wrong. So, why...' Weslin was standing by the door, looking at me. I didn't know how long he'd been watching.

He was wearing a gray-brown overcoat, gold-rimmed glasses perched on his high nose, his amber eyes gazing down at me, exerting invisible pressure. He looked down at me, his tone full of danger. "Ellie, where do you think you're going?"
