Uncle's Love: My Sweet Little Wife -
Chapter 91 James Buys Kara Clothes
Kathleen was checking out, but two credit cards could not afford 180, 000.
She was quietly asking if the cashier could offer a discount. However, the cashier gave her an idiotic look.
A discount would never easily happen in a luxury store. Was she kidding?
Kathleen turned around and asked Emma for money. Emma looked at her like an idiot.
She invited Kathleen to go shopping and called her sister-in-law so attentively, hoping that Kathleen could buy her clothes. How could she bring money with her!
Kathleen had no choice but to walk up to James and pretend to be pitiful with an aggrieved face.
"James, I didn't bring that much money today. Why don't you offer a hand?"
Kara raised her eyebrows. Kathleen kept saying that she would buy these clothes. However, even she used up the balance in her credit cards, she couldn't afford it. Who exactly was vain?
She turned to look at James. He and Kathleen were unmarried couples. Would he buy that clothes?
"Me?"
James seemed to have heard something ridiculous as he stared coldly at Kathleen.
"Am I acquainted with you?"
Standing in the crowd, James was eye-catching. Hearing his mockery, everyone stared at Kathleen mockingly.
Kathleen's face turned red. The balance in her bank cards was all she had. She had come to pay the bill brazenly because she did not want to anger James. She hoped to take this opportunity to get close to him.
She did not expect that James would make her so embarrassed. Her eyes were red and she endured the crying.
"Mr. James, I am your fiancée. Why aren't we acquainted?"
"So, I have to pay for the clothes you can't afford?"
"This kind of fiancée can be easily found in a bar. What do you think?" James sneered.
He had his principle. It was not a matter of money. He just did not want to waste a single cent for any unrelated woman!
Kathleen clenched her fists.
Men can be killed but not humiliated. He actually compared her to those women who worked in the bar. How hateful he was!
"Mr. James, you didn't say that in front of Grandma. You said that you would get engaged in four months."
James's expression was indifferent and he acted as if he patted the dust off his clothes.
"You bully your younger cousin who has a soft temper with others and feel proud. With this kind of cultivation, you want to become my fiancée? You are not deserved!"
James's voice was neither fast nor slow, low and magnetic, but it was like thunder that struck Kathleen, making her entire body stiffen.
Her eyes were scarlet as she stared at the clothes in her hands. She was filled with hatred.
At this moment, she realized that James was deliberately shielding Kara and bullying her.
"Mr. James, I am your fiancée. Why didn't you help me but protect her time and time again?"
Kara blinked. Why did it have to do with her?
However, she thought that James was right. Since James was so nice, the girl he was engaged to must be well-cultivated and kind. She might not be brilliant, but she must be independent-minded and could seize up the situation.
Kathleen was wearing a lady's dress, but she was not generous, too petty, and her words and actions were not ladylike at all.
And she was bad-tempered and easily irritated.
This kind of person was like a time bomb to James. It was understandable that James did not like her.
Kara calmly analyzed in her mind and then thought of her value to James.
She was in poor health and needed someone to take care of her. She always caused trouble for him and occupied his time to tutor her.
She seemed like a burden.
James stared coldly at Kathleen, his eyes as cold as a cold blade.
"I don't need to tell you who I spoil!"
She pretended to be gentle and virtuous in front of Zoey, but behind her back, she used all kinds of nasty words and unorthodox methods to hurt others.
It was a blessing for her that he would talk to her who had such nasty cultivation!
Kathleen burst into tears. She didn't know why James didn't like her from the beginning. Today, she finally met him but was humiliated by him. She was really unwilling. What was good about Kara?
She was ugly, sickly, and timid, and was a weak student. What could she compare to Kathleen?
Kara met Kathleen's resentful gaze and did not avoid it. She calmly looked at her and then indifferently turned her gaze away.
Kathleen did not treat her as a kinsfolk, so there was no need for her to be affectionate.
Emma saw that Kathleen was crying so much that her eye makeup was ruined. The black eyeliner spread out and her eyes instantly looked like panda eyes. She was in a very sorry state. She despised Kathleen in her mind. She was defeated by the other girl just like that and was crying so miserably. How disgraceful she was!
James saw Emma acted as a bystander. He curled his lips in a mocking smile and gave an order from his thin lips.
"Emma, I'll confiscate your three months of allowance. Go home and plant a hundred trees!"
There was a hill behind the Hemming's, a place that belonged to the Hemming family. The Hemmings would be sent to the hill to plant trees for punishment if they made mistakes. When she suddenly heard her name, Emma shuddered and widened her eyes in shock.
Last month, James casually found an excuse to deduct her allowance. That was why she didn't have the money to buy clothes. Otherwise, she wouldn't be so brazen as to go shopping with Kathleen. Now, not only was she deducted money, but she also had to plant trees as a coolie. That was intolerable!
"James, what right do you have to deduct my pocket money? It was Kathleen who conflicted with Kara, not me," Emma was unwilling to obey.
"Then get out of the Hemming's!"
Emma stared at him in disbelief and pointed at Kara with trembling fingers.
"James, you bullied your fiancée and even evicted me from the Hemming's for the sake of that jinx?"
"If your mother and Madam Hemming know that you talk billingsgate, what will your mother do?" James asked.
Emma's face changed greatly. Zoey always upheld that girls might not be brilliant but must be dignified and kind.
If Zoey knew that she would say these words, she would definitely be punished.
Her mother had always warned her not to provoke James. If James had something on her and took the opportunity to make difficulties for her, and if her mother was implicated, her mother would definitely beat her ruthlessly.
"James, don't. I'm willing to be deducted money and I'll plant trees. Don't tell my mother." Emma cried and begged for mercy.
"Whether I punish you or not depends on your performance," James said.
"I will go home now." Not daring to provoke him anymore, Emma stiffly turned and left.
After Emma leaving, Kathleen wanted to leave too, but she was unwilling to leave just like that.
She had never experienced any major setbacks, but she had suffered a crushing failure from James. "Mr. James, the clothes. I..."
James didn't even look at her. He took out an infinity card, then picked another two clothes and asked the waitress to pack. When he went to check out, he glanced at Kathleen and asked the cashier to check out the clothes in her hands as well. Kathleen stared at him expectantly, as if she had seen the light of dawn.
"James, thank you."
"Don't misunderstand. I bought this dress because I didn't want Grandma to nag and said I was stingy."
James turned around indifferently and beckoned Kara with his finger.
Kara walked up to him doubtfully. Just as she was thinking of something else, James held her small hand and chuckled softly.
"I heard from Libby that she prepares a feast for you. Let's go home and have dinner."
