Chapter 446

Bernard thought Hera just wanted to accompany him to work for a day and wouldn't do the same the next day. However, she insisted on going to Shuttle Ventures with him until he got off work for the next four days.

At first, the employees there worked in fear. Then, they started getting curious. They wondered what was up with Bernard when he showed up at the company four days in a row. He even brought Hera with him!

Bernard was curious as well, wondering what she wanted. As he sat in his office for the past few days, she would just sit on the couch and watch him work.

Her beautiful eyes were staring at him at all times. At first, he thought it was romantic.

However, after being stared at for a while, he couldn't help feeling nervous. He wondered if he had accidentally revealed something and made her suspect him.

However, Harold said she didn't ask anything when she went to the company the other day. Instead, she just left after staying in the office for half an hour.

A lot could be done in half an hour. However, nothing was suspicious in Bernard's office. Even when the Killians sent someone over to watch him, they couldn't replace anything at all.

However, Hera insisted on joining him for a few days in a row. That meant that she had found out something.

Bernard wondered what he should do. Should he continue to hide the truth from her? If she had found out about his identity herself, his confession wouldn't have been the same anymore. However, he didn't feel like telling her his real identity as well.

It wasn't that he didn't trust her. Instead, he would have to let Astral Nova know if he told her the truth. Then, he would be indirectly pulling her into the dangerous organization.

If something were to happen to him, everyone who knew his secret would be captured or brainwashed. They would remove every memory that had to do with Astral Nova so that the secret wouldn't be revealed.

As for those who knew about Astral Nova's secret and weren't reported to the organization, they would be killed through fake accidents.

Bernard felt really conflicted. He didn't want to lie to Hera, but he didn't want to get her involved with a dangerous organization like Astral Nova as well.

Suddenly, Hera called him from the couch, "Bernard."

"Yeah?" He returned to his senses and noticed her walking to his desk.

"Don't you have to meet clients or business partners when you work?" she asked.

For a company like Shuttle Ventures, she figured he would have to do that a lot. However, after monitoring him for a few days, she noticed something interesting.

Not only did Bernard not have to meet clients or partners, but he seemed to only answer calls in the office from time to time. The calls usually lasted for a few seconds only.

He didn't have to attend meetings as well. Other than Harold, who appeared three times in the company, no one else entered the office to give reports or anything. Even the male secretary she saw previously was nowhere to be seen.

Most importantly, Bernard didn't use the desktop computer to work at all. Instead, he only used the laptop that he carried around with him.

When she connected the dots, she had a realization. She figured he might have discovered that she knew his secret. However, he was pretending to be oblivious and working somewhere else to go along with her.

"I've let Harold handle everything," he said.

"Well, you sure have an easy job as the CEO..." she teased.

"Yeah, everything I've learned in the past is useless here. All I can do is be a CEO of a small company," he went with the flow and lied.

Hera was speechless as she listened to his lies.
