Bernard scooped out the cooked food and told Hera, "Sweetie, the food is cooked. You can eat it now."

She washed her hands and sat at the dining table. When she saw the heart-shaped egg, she smirked. "Thank you. You may leave now."

"Are you going to chase me away after making use of me?" Bernard placed both hands on the table, looking at her.

Hera raised an eyebrow. "Do you want to wash the dishes before you leave?"

After a brief pause, Bernard replied, "Alright."

Then, he turned and washed the pot. Once Hera had finished eating her food, he slowly took her plate and washed it too.

Suddenly, he asked, "Did you promise Rhett that you'd develop a new chip for the Killian family?"

Hera bent down and picked up Tiramisu. She fell silent for a while before answering, "It seems that you're well-informed, Bernard!" Though she had just returned from the Killian residence, Bernard had already gotten the news about her contract with Rhett.

"The entire world probably knows about it now." Bernard finished washing the dishes and wiped his hands before showing her his phone. Fifteen minutes ago, Killian Corporation Official had posted something on Twitter.

It read, "We warmly welcome 'Ms. Raven' into our company. She'll be the new Head of Technology, aiding us in creating a new batch of chips." After reading that, Hera kept quiet.

Rhett behaved hastily without checking his sources! She hadn't even confirmed her first day of work yet, but he had already informed his employees to announce the news. Was he afraid that she would go back on her word?

"Are you seriously going to do this?" Bernard sat down and faced her.

Hera held Tiramisu and replied, "I've already signed the contract."

This made Bernard a little unhappy, and he stared at her in silence for a while.

A while later, he asked, "Are you doing this to investigate Lucius' death?"

Hera looked at him in response. He seemed to be able to read her mind and knew exactly what she thought.

But she didn't reply. Instead, she checked the time and said, "You should go home."

She didn't want history to repeat itself like last time. Previously, Bernard intentionally stayed behind and found an excuse to spend the night at her house.

"Before I leave, will you consider working for XS Corporation instead, Ms. Hera? We'll double your salary," Bernard declared.

"No," Hera rejected him instantly.

After that, Bernard fell silent.

"Wait a minute." Once Hera recalled

the photo that she received from Rhett, she went back to her room and took it from her bag. Just then, a note fell out and landed on the floor.

Hera picked up the note and read it, "Meet me at the fish pond in Stoneworth Park on the 30th."

The note was written using a Yanerr fountain pen. She couldn't think of anyone who had the same handwriting as the words on the note.

Who gave her the note? Also, who shoved it into her bag?

When she recalled the events of that day, Hera suddenly remembered Xavier, who had followed her at one point.

Did he do it?

"What are you looking at?" Bernard asked lowly.

Startled by his voice, she hurriedly stuffed the note in her pocket. "It doesn't concern you."

Bernard was taller than her, so he

had seen the location written on the note. However, he couldn't see the date of the meeting because his vision was blocked.

Seeing that Hera looked very nervous, he instantly recalled something. Then, he looked very upset.

He asked, "Did a strange man ask you out on a date? You can't agree to his pursuits!"

Hera moved away as he was standing very close to her. "Don't meddle in my affairs." Bernard took a step forward, questioning unhappily, "Is it Tyler?"
