Bernard knitted his brows together unhappily.

Meanwhile, Connor dared not to say a word, fearing that he might upset Bernard and cause him to call for a stop to the operation. Thus, Connor backed away to the side quietly.

"Sorry to interrupt. Is this the place where Hera is performing the operation?" Thiago asked while carrying a large bouquet of white roses and pulling his black suitcase. He had well-defined features, but his permed hair made him look somewhat feminine.

Bernard turned to scrutinize Thiago. The sight of the white roses in Thiago's arms made Bernard frown even more. When did Hera attract such a lousy man?

Nicholas immediately felt wary upon realizing that Thiago's large bouquet of white roses was just as impressive as his. Where did this guy come from?

Nicholas was about to ask who Thiago was when he heard Bernard coldly reply, "No."

Thiago looked at his phone in confusion before looking around. He said to himself, "That's strange. Shouldn't she be here? Didn't the nurse say she'd be here?"

Seeing how no one responded to him, Thiago turned and walked away, tugging his suitcase behind him.

Nicholas just stared at him, mortified that Thiago believed Bernard so easily.

Tyler scoffed. If only Hera were here to see Bernard's true colors as a liar.

"Is the operating room really not here? But I watched the news, and even the nurses said she'll be here!" Thiago, who had not even taken two steps, turned back to ask tentatively.

Tyler replied, "She's really not here."

Since Bernard did not say a word, Thiago finally walked away angrily.

The moment he left, the light above the operating room door turned off. The operating room door opened.

Fiona hurried forward but was pushed aside by Nicholas, who shoved the flowers forward. "You've worked hard."

But the first one who came out was

Johnson. Although he was slightly perplexed, he still accepted the

flowers. "Thanks. Actually, you didn't have to-"

Before he could finish speaking, Nicholas took the flowers back immediately, realizing that it was the wrong person. "They're not for you."

Hera slowly came out. Having

focused for more than nine hours,

she was beyond exhausted and hungry. If it weren't for the

interruption earlier, the operation

wouldn't have taken so long ve

As soon as she stepped out of the room, she was greeted with a large bouquet of red roses by Nicholas.

She didn't take it, but another large bouquet of blue roses was forcefully shoved into her arms, pushing the red roses aside.

"You've done well, Hera," Tyler said.

Hera was very exhausted and only wanted to replenish some energy. She took off her mask and asked, "Isn't there anything to eat?"

Her reply rendered Tyler and Nicholas speechless. They had not anticipated this.

Bernard icily pushed them aside. He then carried Hera bridal style before turning to leave. "I brought you some tiramisu cake. It's in the car."

Hera couldn't be bothered to struggle as she was extremely worn out, so she let Bernard carry her.

"How did the operation go?" Fiona asked anxiously, having finally found an opportunity to speak.

"It was successful! The patient is

awake. As he had been in a coma for

too long, he needs time to gradually

recover

his

consciousness. He'll

need to remain in the hospital for observation," Johnson explained.

Hearing that made Connor and Fiona cry tears of joy. "That sounds amazing. Thank you! Thank you, Dr. Shadow!"

"That's not right. The nurse said she'd be here!" At that moment, Thiago returned with his luggage in tow.
