Chapter 38

During lunch time, Tiffany went to the stairwell with a bun and a bottle of water. She didn't want to be seen by Vincent and be forced to have lunch at the cafeteria like yesterday. Not many people went to the stairwell, so it was quiet there. She ate the bun while scrolling through the contact list on her phone.

Even after browsing through it twice, she found that there was no one she was close enough to to borrow money from

There were already tons of messages in the muted group chat with her classmates. Tiffany was

unpopular and inactive in the group chat. Back then, it had been Brianna who had added her to the group chat.

She hadn't been interested in it to begin with, so she had directly muted the group messages. For some reason, she opened the group messages at this moment.

There were too many messages. She scrolled back and read them slowly. As she scrolled, she suddenly stopped at the sight of the income shown by a female classmate. The female classmate introduced a part-time job that paid 1000 dollars a night. She was asking if there was anyone who needed money and wanted to do it with her.

The female classmate was Elis Turner; she had been the best looking among Tiffany's classmates, and she had also been quite popular due to her cheerful personality.

However, no one was perfect. Her academic performance was poor, and she hadn't worked hard. She had spent most of her time and energy dressing up and socializing, so she had failed every subject. Almost all teachers had had a negative review of her. Someone had once seen saw her getting out of a luxurious car. From then on, there were rumors about her doing immoral things outside of college.

Some had questioned her about it, but she hadn't explained herself; she had just let the rumors spread wildly. Ultimately, she had almost been kicked out of the college.

Compared to Elis, Tiffany had totally been a good girl. She had been quiet and studied diligently, making her a good student in the eyes of the teachers. She had also been a nice person in her class.

Tiffany saved Elis's number but hesitated about texting her.

When it was almost time to get off work, she stared at Elis' profile photo and wondered how she should start the conversation,

After all, she was not close with Elis, and they had never spoken to each other even though they were classmates.

However, Elis had sent her a message first while she was still pondering."Are you looking for a part-time job?"

Tiffany blushed, as she didn't expect that Elis would be so straightforward. "Yes, is there any?"

Elis asked, "Are you in need of money?"

Tiffany replied with a yes.

She quickly added "very much" for fear that Elis might think that she was unfriendly.

Elis sent her a location and sald, "Come over if you are free tonight. I will bring you to look around before

you make your decision."

Tiffany was surprised by how smooth it went. Elis's straightforwardness had taken her concerns away, so she quickly replied, "Alright, I will be there on time."

Vincent and Alex were not in the office the whole day, so everyone was quite relaxed. When it was about time to get off work, Tiffany packed her things and was ready to go back.

But when she was about to get up and leave, Ivy passed her a stack of files. "Tiffany, arrange these datal into a table. I need it for tomorrow morning's meeting.

Ivy didn't even bother to look at her after saying that. She just turned and left.

"Wait a minute." Tiffany stopped her. "I'm sorry, but I have a very important thing to do tonight, so I can't work on these."

Ivy raised her eyebrows. "Is your thing more important than your work? Don't think that you're special just because Mr. Lewis spoke up for you. Everyone started out as an intern when they joined the company. "You are lucky that Mr. Lewis made an exception to accept you as a regular employee in advance just because

you are good at flattering. Even so, you are just an assistant. What makes you think that you are special?"

"I don't think that I'm special," Tiffany whispered in defense. "I really have a very important thing to tonight. Can I leave these files here and come to work on them tomorrow morning?"

Ivy raised her eyebrows. "Okay! I don't care when you do it. I'm telling you this table is needed for tomorrow morning's meeting at 8:30 am.

"Don't give excuses if you can't get it done by then."

Tiffany nodded and said, "Thank you."
