"Sure." Alex was quick to agree. "Feel free to do that if you don't want your job anymore."
Tiffany was rendered speechless.
Brianna watched with jealousy as Tiffany left with Vincent and Alex. It was no wonder Tiffany was so snobby now-she'd found someone to back her up.
She was so different now. She had more self-confidence and seemed to glow.
Just then, Ivy walked past her workstation. Brianna stopped the latter. "Ivy!"
"What is it?" Ivy turned around.
"How about I treat everyone to dinner tonight since it's my first day of work?" Brianna suggested.
"Sure."
"Everyone's invited, okay?"
"Alright. I'll let the rest know."
Brianna looked at her. "How about Mr. Zander?"
"He's usually too busy to join us at these things. You can forget about him," Ivy said.
"How about Mr. Lewis, then?" Brianna asked tentatively.
Ivy gave her an amused look. "You want to treat Mr. Lewis to a meal? Do you know why I asked whether you had a boyfriend before hiring you?"
She shook her head. Ivy continued, "Because you wouldn't dream of winning Mr. Lewis' heart if you're taken."
"No, it's not like that! You've got me wrong!" Brianna hurriedly explained, "I'm not interested in Mr. Lewis. I just wanted to treat everyone to dinner, I swear."
Ivy's gaze was sharp. "That better be
the case. Let me put it this way-Mr. Lewis wouldn't be interested in you, even if you wanted to approach him because... he already has a fiancée."

"Really?" Brianna was stunned again. "Wow, who's the lucky woman? She must be gorgeous to have landed herself someone as handsome and outstanding as Mr. Lewis."
"She used to work here, too, but she quit recently to prepare for her and Mr. Lewis' wedding. That's why we had a vacancy that you were lucky enough to fill."
Ivy's tone became bitter as she spoke. "Kelly's actually pretty ordinary-looking. She's not even as pretty as I am, and she doesn't have a good figure.
"I honestly have no idea what sort of
spell she cast to suddenly become Mr. Lewis fiancée. Once they're married, she'll be the boss' wife, Glamorous, isn't it? She's not like us-we still have to toil away here."

Her compliments made Ivy feel better. "Fortunately, I'm on good terms with her. Once she becomes the boss' wife, I'll benefit from it, too."
...
This was Tiffany's first time in the main conference room. She was stunned by how brightly lit it was.
Vincent took his seat at the head of the table. His demeanor immediately became regal and commanding.
Alex pulled out a seat for Tiffany. "You can sit here."
"Thanks." She opened her notebook and pulled out a pen after taking her seat. She was ready to take down the meeting minutes.
Alex glanced at her. Then, he asked in surprise, "You didn't bring your laptop?"
