Chapter 142: Love at First Kiss

"Hmm?" Patrick held her in his arms, his deep gaze fixed on her facewith anticipation and nervousness.

"Patrick, my answer is - I promise you." Jane's lips brushed againstPatrick's ear, her breath like a fragrant orchid. "I want to spend the restof my life with you.”

Pausing for a moment, she looked up at the man in front of her withtender eyes and cherry-red lips parted. "No matter what happens.”"Jane, I've been waiting for this answer for so long.” Patrick's gazeflickered with excitement as he bent down to kiss the woman tightlywrapped around him.

The familiar sensation washed over him again, causing Patrick to catchhis breath.

“Jane... Jane..." His strong arms held onto Jane's slender waist as hemurmured her name repeatedly into their passionate kiss.

The two were locked in an electric embrace without any gaps betweenthem. The feeling surged through Jane's entire body like electricity. Shehad never felt anything like it before; it made her heart race.

After experiencing life and death together at that moment, Jane finallyunderstood what was truly in her heart - she wanted to spend the restof her life hand-in-hand with this brilliant man named Patrick. No matterwhat happened - even if there was another woman named Candy stilllingering in his heart - nothing would affect their love now that she knewhow she felt about him.

She wouldn't let anyone else come between them; she wanted all ofPatrick's love completely devoted to only herself! Even if Candy cameback one day — it didn't matter — because Jane would never give up!The two continued kissing passionately high above thousands of milesfrom ground level while forgetting all fear and panic they had justexperienced moments ago when they were unsure whether or notthey'd survive...

Taking a deep breath now though, all negative emotions vanished awayleaving only romance and beauty behind...

It wasn't clear how long they kissed until finally ending their irresistiblepassion-filled embrace which left both parties wanting more...

“I'm happy," said Patrick resting his forehead against hers while smilingfaintly at this point since he had waited so long for this moment wherehe could be sure about how much affection existed within each other'shearts without any doubts or fears holding either back anymore...

"My grandfather gave it to me. He said it would bring good luck, "Janesaid, handing it to Patrick.

Patrick took the necklace and looked at it carefully.” It's beautiful.”

"We can try to use it to call for help,” Jane explained." Maybe someonewill spot our signal. Or..." She paused. "Or this necklace will bring reallygood luck?"

Patrick smiled and nodded." Try it."

They clasped hands and closed their eyes in silent prayer.

The feeling of helplessness in the sea made them feel lonely andvulnerable.

But when they were around each other, they felt more determined andcourageous than ever before.

Time passed slowly, and after several hours of waiting, suddenly thesound of a ship was heard in the distance.

They looked excitedly in the direction of the sound and sure enough, they saw a fishing boat approaching their position.

"Quickly! Hurry up!" Jane shouted.” We've been stuck here a longtime!"

Fishermen rushed to rescue them and provided them with food andwater. Despite a thrilling skydiving accident and several hours adrift atsea, they survived at the last minute.

Translation:

Why didn't she face her feelings earlier and try dating Patrick? Instead, they waited until now when their lives were hanging by a thread. Theirsituation was truly terrible.

Jane hugged Patrick tightly as she looked down with trepidation. Belowthem was a vast expanse that could have been land or water, but Janehad a feeling it was the ocean.

"Patrick, what do we do now?" Jane asked anxiously.

Patrick held Jane close as if he were holding the most precious thing inthe world. "Don't worry, we'll figure something out," he said softly."Mm-hmm," Jane nodded gently. At this moment, all she wanted to bewas a protected little woman. With this man by her side, she wasn'tafraid of anything anymore.

Their parachute floated slowly downward until they could see what laybelow them: an endless sea just as they had feared.

Looking at the vast ocean beneath them made Jane's eyelids twitchtwice in anxiety. They were so small compared to nature's power!"Patrick, it's the ocean down there," said Jane with furrowed brows."There's no food or fresh water in the sea; we can only last for one ortwo days at most."

"I brought food and water in my backpack," replied Patrick with a frownon his face. He had prepared for such situations before jumping out ofthe plane.

He took out his phone from his pocket and checked it but found nosignal.

"What now?" asked Jane as she looked at Patrick's phone.

"No good; there's no signal,” answered Patrick coldly after trying tosend Morton their location without success.

As expected... A hint of disappointment flashed across Jane's beautifuleyes.

But then Patrick held her hand firmly and said confidently: “No matterwhat happens, as long as we're together everything will be okay." Hisfingertips transmitted warmth into hers like he was passing on hisstrength source continuously to her.

Suddenly an idea came into mind for Jane: “I have an idea.”

"Hmm?" asked Patrick curiously while looking at her intently.

She took off the necklace around her neck that Grandpa gave her onher sixteenth birthday present which he claimed would bring good luckand handed it over to him:

“This is my grandpa'’s gift for me — this necklace brings good luck,"explained jane while handing over necklace "Maybe someone will replaceus because of its power." She paused briefly before continuing "Ormaybe...this necklace really does bring good luck?"

“It's so pretty!" exclaimed Patrick admiringly after taking hold of itcarefully "Let's give it a try."

The two clasped hands tightly together closed their eyes silentlypraying earnestly while feeling helpless drifting aimlessly on openwaters made them feel more lonely than ever before yet being besideeach other gave them unprecedented firmness and courage despitetime passing slowly waiting several hours later suddenly hearingsounds coming from afar where boats are located both excitedly turnedtowards its direction seeing indeed that there is one fishing boatapproaching near where they are located shouting loudly:

"Hurry! Hurry up!" cried jane loudly “We've been stranded here for toolong!" The fishermen quickly rescued both individuals providing foodsupplies & sources of fresh water even though having experiencedsuch thrilling incidents including surviving drifting aimlessly upon openwaters for several hours ultimately managed to survive thanks to beingrescued during critical moments by others" help & support .

At that time, Grandpa smiled and said to her, "Jane, this necklace wasspecially customized by Grandpa for you. Although it looks ordinary, ithas a big function.”

Jane took the necklace with some confusion and asked curiously,"What function?"

Old North pointed to the pendant of the necklace and asked with asmile, “Do you see this plum blossom?"

"Um." Jane's gaze fell on the small raised plum blossom on thependant but still didn't understand what was special about thisnecklace.

Old North explained, "This is a signal transmitter and the plum blossomis the switch. In the future, if someone bullies you, just press the switchand Grandpa will receive your distress signal and come to save you.""That's amazing." Jane happily put on her necklace but didn't take itseriously in her heart.

After all, there were only a few people in this world who could bully her.She had never experienced it over these years.

But since Grandpa said so then it must be useful for seeking his help. She just didn't know if it would work on sea level or not.

The current situation could only be dealt with as best as possible underdifficult circumstances.

Jane explained to Patrick,” This was given to me by my grandpa. Hesaid I can use this to seek his help when I'm in danger. Hopefully itworks."

“Let's try," Patrick lowered his head and looked at Jane's hand holdingonto that necklace.

From its appearance alone there wasn't anything special about it.

With slender white fingers, Jane pressed down on that plum blossomswitch.

In an instant, the originally dull-looking necklace suddenly beganflashing green light. The color started off light green before graduallydeepening into dark green.

"So signals really can be transmitted!" Seeing how its color kept gettingdarker while holding onto that item, Jane felt pleasantly surprised.

At same time, she also worried whether or not grandpa would receivetheir distress signal.
