Chapter 121
Logan stopped talking afterward.
Both Stephen and the driver did not dare to say anything else either.
Ten minutes later, Logan's convoy arrived at Moore Corporation. He would soon walk into the 68-storey tall building while surrounded by bodyguards.
All of the employees who saw Logan along the path greeted him respectfully,
Logan nodded slightly in response to each of their greetings.
"Mr. Moore."
His steady steps and imposing demeanor paired with the escort of bodyguards resembled that of a king, even though he was just wearing an ordinary set of casual clothes.
Logan had left the house with Lorraine. He could not dress up in a suit as Lorraine still thought that he worked on a construction site. It would not have fit his role as a simple construction worker. He had no choice but to don a fit of casual clothes.
The team of bodyguards came to a halt in front of the CEO's exclusive elevator. Logan then entered the elevator alone and headed up straight to the 68th floor.
Fred was already waiting for Logan to exit the elevator. He immediately followed behind Logan and reported about his work as the two of them continued walking.
Logan listened to Fred's report, occasionally giving a few short and concise replies.
Logan suddenly came to a halt right before he entered the CEO's office, and Fred immediately stopped right behind him as well.
"Notify William to come and see me," said Logan.
"Yes, sir."
Logan then pushed open the office door and headed inside. Fred followed him into the office as he continued reporting about work.
There were plenty of reports to catch up on as Logan hadn't come into the office for three days.
Those who could stay by Logan's side and earn his trust could be described as the elite among the elites. By the time William entered the room, Logan had already finished listening to Fred's reports and had given his feedback.
Fred was then dismissed from the office room to go about resuming his tasks.
William walked over and pulled out a chair in front of the desk. Taking a seat, he smiled at his friend. "It's been a few days since you showed up at the office. Miss me?
"I heard that you accompanied your wife to a class reunion, and you boasted that we were classmates."
Logan poured himself a cup of warm water, to which William said, "Why didn't you pour me a cup of water too?"
"I thought you hated plain water?"
"Couldn't you just hand me a beverage?" replied William.
"I don't have any beverages in my office."
Logan then returned to his seat and asked about the company's current situation. To that, William explained, "Moore Corporation will still be able to function as usual even if you didn't show up for an entire year. You should give your family a little credit."
William very much admired the Moore family. The Moores held a harmonious and strong bond between each and every one of them.
And as the eldest of his generation, Logan was practically designated as the successor to the family business from birth. Despite having many siblings and cousins growing up with him, they all supported Logan wholeheartedly.
All the other outstanding individuals in the Moore family respected Logan and never once harbored thoughts of seizing his power for their own.
On the contrary, whenever Logan had to leave on a business trip and wished to appoint one of his siblings or cousins as interim CEO, it would turn into a game of hot potato where they respectfully pushed one another to take the helm.
William realized that such powerful leadership and family culture played a huge part in why the Moore family was so prestigious as a whole and that the Hathe family could never catch up to them.
A harmonious family was easier said than done. It was an extremely difficult ideal that could only be achieved by the Moore family.
