Unknown Darkness (2) -
Chapter 7.1
The sun was high in the sky and wasn’t as cold this time, rather is was warm but still cool for snow and since we were in the deep mountains I suppose.
I practically pranced to lake that was frozen, I saw the bench and sat down lacing put on my skates. I looked up after they were tied and instantly there my happiness and warmth filled me. Wolf was standing there smiling at me.
Oh, how I wish I could just actually feel him. I stood up slowly and he came to me and took my hand and led me onto the ice and we skated.
It was just him and I, nothing else and I was happy, forgetting about what was happening. It just felt safe and nothing could hurt me, and I wanted nothing more than him.
His ghostly touch was faint but made me feel like I could get close to him again. We kept skating till I remembered from last time that he only have few minutes with me.
“Wait, Wolf,” I stopped abruptly and turning to face him. “We have been skating for a while and you haven’t faded away this time, why are you here longer?” I was confused. Then quickly added “It’s not like I do not enjoy the company, I am just wondering” I assured him.
He smiled and laughed his usual way, the way I missed so much and made me feel safe around him. Unlike where I was right now where fear overtook me so much.
“Asema,” he started then brought me in close and looked down on me. “Madam Mentor brought power that we do not understand making it possible” He answered, like it was miracle to him that this was happening.
“What?” I replied, even though I should have been happier.
“Your mother Madam brought someone or something with power to help keep this spell up, but I feel there something she is hiding, not fully telling the truth” Wolf said.
“What?” it was more like a whisper as I was still shocked. “You are telling, that Madam is with you, and has some sort of power to help keep you here as a projection?”
Wolf smiled at me then gave me a kiss on the forehead, with tenderness and I leaned into it.
“Yes, its all I can have time with you. So can I have few more moments with you” Wolf asked kindly just like a gentleman should do.
I smiled at him.
“Yes, you may” I answered knowing that sadly it wouldn’t be that long.
We continued on skating and laughing at each other. Though in back of my mind I wondered what it looked like to Kieran since Wolf told me that the spell is to cover us and showed that I was just doing all these things with skating.
Soon the sun was slowly getting to a peak point basking harsh light onto us. Wolf stopped and turned to face me.
“Do you have the chart” He asked his tone becamse serious, with that I knew it was time get to business.
“Yes,” I replied still smiling. I went to my jacket and took out the scroll paper and handed it to Wolf. He took it and unraveled it, then examined the paper, seemed like his eyes would burn the paper.
After a while of looking at it I wanted to ask him if there was anything and he understood what I drew. But he gently let the scroll roll back up and it disappeared in his hand like it was ghost to him. Why couldn’t do that with me?
“Asema,”′ he started then pulled me in close lifted me his arms and pointed to one the mountain ranges where I recently been seeing camp fire smoke but thought nothing of it.
“That is where we are, so close to you, which I don’t understand because when we look out on the cliff, we don’t really see anything just trees and mountains in the distance.” He spoke in wonderment. Trying to work out a math problem.
I sighed, “It’s because Kieran has this mansion under a cloaking spell” I muttered.
Then I realized what he said to me a second later. “Wait you are that smoke I’ve seen?” I asked, relieved that he was closer by.
All he did was stare at me, in shock to eventually nodded in confirming my question.
“How on earth are you going to come and get me?” I asked.
He sighed and shrugged his shoulders. Not something I wanted to see from him.
“To be honest Asema, I thought you were further away and now knowing you are much closer I am happy. But also I don’t know what to do with you since you are that close to me” he said.
I looked him in the eyes “Wolf are you leading the pack?” I asked, a curious thought went through my mind. I looked up at Wolf, his green eyes were so magical especially with the golden glow from the sun. I wish I could stare at him all day.
“Asema,” He whispered softly. Then brought me closer to him and let our foreheads touch. “I am sub leading, Madam was the one who organized all of this, my parents agreed to it, if it meant a agreement between Immortals and Lycans.” Wolf answered. “I need to go…I am sorry”
Then gave me another kiss on the forehead and faded away. I smiled after him wanting to cry.
I glided on my skates back to the bench and took off my skates and started to walk back to the house. I went up the couple of stairs and looked up for a second, and almost froze. Kieran was staring down at me with a devilish smile though this smile I knew he had something in mind and wasn’t going to be pretty.
I looked back down and felt dread, soon I continued to walk back into the house. Up the stairs, went and into my room flopping onto the bed. Closing my eyes for a few seconds. A deep voice came to my head that made me jump in the air.
‘Do not worry.’
I jumped in the air looked around to an empty room. But laid back down, closing my eyes and rested.
Wolf
He was back at the camp with warriors and Lycans around him watching him wondering what he would say next.
Brock stood forward alongside Madam.
“So where is she?” Madam voice soft but wanting information.
Wolf turned his attention to her and slowly looked behind him where the cliff off an edge had an opening through the trees.
He motioned them those who were curious to also those who needed the information. They passed through a couple trees while the late afternoon sky was engulfing them in light. The forest casted shadows and scattered light onto them.
Wolf, Brock and Madam with a few others approached the cliff as they looked down to a frozen white lake. Down below in the distance it where is caught some blinding sunlight.
It was a valley they saw with some open land that looked strange as if you could build a house there. Except there was nothing.
Wolf inhaled some fresh pine air along with fainted bark and pointed to the lake.
“I skated with her on the ice, down there seems to be a a mansion I believe that it is situated just after the lake.”
There were few disbelief noises behind him but he ignored them and continued on. “The grass area that we found strange, there is a mansion build there except when we look it is as if nothing exists almost like something is covering it.”
“A magic force” Madam chimed in.
Wolf brought his attention to her as she glided to stand beside him, “A barrier, forcefield that covers…though” she looked down as if she needed to think about something, then turned to him and Brock who made his way on the other side of Wolf. “That is powerful magic as if seems that…well what I can feel is that it covering much more than a house.”
Brock hummed to himself, “We should plan now and figure out how to get through the barrier or if the barrier is even approachable.”
Wolf turned to him scrunching his eyebrows together, “how long do you think that will be?”
Brock bore his red eyes into Wolf golden green, “I am not sure possibly two weeks.”
Wolf eyes went wide and rage began to fill him.
Madam instantly ushered the onlookers to leave as she returned to camp. Wolf was furious.
“You mean to tell me we have to wait two weeks to get her out of there?” Wolf trying to keep his calm even though steam was forming form him. “Why do we need to wait that long?”
Brock stood straight and glanced at the invisible house and back at Wolf.
“We do not know what we are dealing with, few of men are amateurs. Madam said this is powerful and we cannot bloody see the house knowing something will happen if we touch it. So, yes two weeks, so we don’t lose men and we are prepared.” Brock stared down Wolf, as Wolf stayed silent and slowly nodded in response.
