I stood in one of the rooms that overlooked the stadium gazing down the height made the warriors were ants size..

Wolf, Brock and I were gathering in Brock’s office that apparently he never uses. Dust and messiness was gathered around evident to his statement. Both men were chatting with each other while I listened to how they were to train me.

“We will first go through the basic and then onto weapons and eventually into different environments” Brock explained. I turned my attention to him as the window brought some heat to my back considering how blazing hot the sun was here.

“No, I just need to learn a bit more of fighting, that is all, besides Wolf taught me the basics at Sky High.” I motioned to him, Wolf looked from me to Brock and shrugged his shoulders.

“I did and she is good.”

I smiled at his comment, but Brock did not seem happy about it.

“I understand that, but training here is much different than one on one. I am not sure what you did at Sky High” Brock informed us, his voice sounding like he wanted to put me in my place. Least that what it felt like.

“ughh” I almost screamed in frustration… “I know, problem is Kieran was training me in his combat room almost every week or every other day” I argued.

“What….” Wolf and Brock replied silently. “He trained you…”

“Yes it was the only way he could make deals with me, if he lost which was rare, since he cheated most of the time. When Kieran won, he got what he wanted. I won, I could do something of my choice but if I could not he got his way in the bedroom or lavish parties.” I said feeling sick to my stomach just thinking about it again.

“He must have taught you the fighting the way I warned you about” Wolf said like he was thinking out loud.

“He did,” I quietly confirmed.

“Then why do you radiate so much light or good off of you?” Brock questioned, I turned my attention back to him and saw he was studying me trying to figure out something.

“Brock brings up a valid point” Wolf agreed, but he wasn’t studying he was looking in mid-air thinking like Brock.

I opened my mouth to say something but my vision had blackened out again and I was back in the combat room with Kieran, he staring at me. We both had weapons in our hands and he spoke.

“Remember Love, don’t fight for mercy, fight for the freedom you will receive.” he said darkly.

I was thrusted like suction back into a familiar office I was just standing in moments ago. Wolf and Brock were staring at me wondering if I was okay. I took a deep breath, what was that? That was a memory, not the future.

“Asema” Wolf was kneeling at me side looking worried.

“Don’t fight for mercy, fight for the freedom” I said as the words spilled out as I repeated them to myself as a reminder of something.

“Are you okay?” Wolf hesitated towards me, “Your eyes went full blue.”

Not registering his words, I just nodded, “Yeah I am okay.” I turned to Brock. Who just stared, he was not afraid let it seemed like it.

Brock sighed composing himself, “I am sorry you were learning that, but I am more impresses that you were able to keep a level head mind learning about something that takes away your soul.” Brock finished.

“Well start training me now” I demand.

Wolf and Brock both looked at each other. I was about to oppose that they were not being fair when Brock cut me off.

“I am not against training, I am actually happy you came, since you will make history of a female warrior, the problem is how it’s going to be proceeded as by others” Brock said warning me.

“What do you mean by that?” I asked.

“When you train, you will be the only woman here. You will be with fighting men that think some women don’t belong in combat.

Lastly you will be disrespected especially since you are with Wolf,” Brock said slowly. Making sure I heard everything very clearly.

I walked towards Brock placing my hands on my hips.

“I lived with a monster for many months, of rape, torture and abuse. If a guy here has a problem with me and tries to challenge…” I brought myself closer to Brock. “They will wish on their mother womb that they were never born in the first place.” I finished with a sneer.

Brock just sat there in silence. After moment had past, Brock stood up and oddly smiled.

“Then let’s show these men what you can do” He said.

I smiled.

“So where shall we start?” I asked,

Brock smiled, and led Wolf and I out to a room and in the hallways of the field passing by men who were chatting. Passed by a couple of rooms that held balconies where men were training or fighting one another. Eventually he led us down stairs to a room that was practically all concrete with a mats on the floor with a circle drawn it. With a sunroof letting in natural light almost making us feel like we were in the spotlight. “This is the room where we test new recruits’ strength and weakness.”

“You want to see my strengths and abilities to improve them?”

“Yes” Brock replied, and gestured for Wolf and I to stand on the mat. I could hear Wolf muttering under his breath about something. I ignored it.

Brock came back with a weapons rack but place it away from me and stood on the matt. Then gestured me onto the matt. I followed the matt made its cushion noise and was that type of matt that was hard but still cushioned your fall.

Brock got in a ready stance and jumped me but somehow, I was fast to block, threw him to my side and elbowing him between the shoulders without any effort. While he grunted and fell on the floor. Turned onto his back and looked at me strangely.

“That was quicker than I expected” Brock sourly admitted.

“I was just instants” I spoke honestly.

“Instincts on what to do,” Brock repeated my statement

I pressed my lips together, I felt I needed to explain, “Because when I duelled with Kieran, he never waited soon as I reach my post he would come at me without leaving me time to defend myself.” I said, as dark reality comes to me again.

Brock was now fully upright standing before me.

“Okay well let us now see what you can do, to be honest I don’t even think you need training now well least not the very begginner sort of defence.” He said, I was surprised but turned around putting my back to Brock for a second. Which was a dumb idea.

Hearing a swift of blade, I spun around to see Brock coming at me, look like he was about to slice me but I moved much fast. As if I foresaw where he would swing next. I caught his wrist catching the blade in his hand twisting his wrist making him yelp. Spinning around to give me more force and nicking him on the chest. I was able to kick his feet from under him.

Breathing was steady, I had to collect myself.

“Asema…” It was Wolf who spoke.

“You seemed to remember what I taught you before, it looks good.” Wolf voiced. I turned to him who had been watching Brock and I this entire time trying fathom what was going on.

“I would agree” Brock piped in which brought my gaze to him, he was sitting on his butt knees up to his chest. He was done dueling for the moment

“Like I said, it’s just instinct… like my body automatically does it” I replied, to me it wasn’t a big deal.

“I have an idea… but you may not like it…” His voice directed towards Wolf rather.

Brock went for the weapons rack. Grabbing three rods then throwing one to me, I caught it. Brock went and stood by Wolf murmuring something to him, which Wolf did not like as his face crinkled in horror. “No” Wolf replied in a harsh tone.

“Do you want me to fight you two?” I asked knowing that is what Brock was intending.

“Yes… I need to see something.”

Taking breathe, I was not so sure about this.

But yet of course Brock started by swiftly moving across the matt to gain some force and swung at me, I was quick by bringing up my rod which made a hard whack noise with the rods coming to together.

Twisting his strength I tired distracting Brock then hitting him straight on in the stomach throwing him back away. He grunted from my hit. Though I did not have much time to take in my thoughts. I spun around in enough time to know where Wolf was about to swing under my legs.

I jumped just in time and for him to get up swinging at my head. Avoiding it again throwing myself backwards onto my side and swinging his legs under knocking him down to the ground slamming on his back.

Turning to face Brock, who was up and already throwing attacks at me which I kept blocking. Not understanding how this was possible. How could I be able to do this? I was not tired but rather full of energy.

Eventually I duck down leaving Brock to fall forward and lifted my leg hitting him on the neck making him fall hard on his front. He coughed as Wolf came at me with a rod. I brought my mine up stopping Wolf and holding the rod against him and kicked him in the stomach making him fall back, he shot up his hand for mercy.

There I was standing, with two male warriors on the ground.

“I am sorry” I spoke softly. Not sure why I was apologizing.

Brock grunted and got up slowly clutching his stomach.

“Asema” He started and turned around to face me and to my surprise he was smiling. “You just confirmed we don’t need to teach you the basics…lets go to the next stage of fighting” He and turned around straightening up a bit and started to put the weapons rack away.

I quickly turned around to see Wolf was already up but looked more serious than anything.

“Remember the true way of fighting I taught you… and you have… keep it up.”

Looking at him, smiled, “Thank you for reminding me”

“I am sorry…” he brought me into a hug.

“You just showed Brock and I that you are born fighter” and kissed me on the cheek leaning back enough for me to see him smiling.

Moment was cut short.

“Alright” Brock shouted interrupting our moment. “Let’s go to the field and see what else we can learn about your instincts”

Wolf and I nodded at Brock and followed him out the room.
